India VS Australia bilateral series latest update.

The world number 2 and the number 3 top teams as per ICC ranking will be playing against each other tomorrow. It has now been confirmed by the Australian captain Pat Cummins that both Micthell Starc and Glenn Maxwell will miss the match. Starc, Maxwell, and Cummins along with Steve Smith missed the tour of South Africa due to injuries in the Ashes. For now, Micthell Starc and Glenn Maxwell are still not ready due to their injuries. Found this news on X.com, I do not think it will hamper the Australian side performance, as BCCI did some big changes while selecting the team for this match.

India is good side for ODI cricket. Recently, India won Asia Cup against Sri Lanka with high margin. India performance was excellent, India also defeated Pakistan in Asia Cup. India's team moral is very high, Australia lose two excellent players likeStarc and Glenn Maxwell that are backbone of Australian cricket team. Their will also affect on team performance, these players are legends  that performed well in every situation and gave many trophies to their country and high their flag. India is favorite for this match. India's team confidence is on peak. In this time, to defeat India is very difficult. Let's see.

Major difference is that Australia is struggling with injuries, Travis Head already ruled out of the World Cup, Pat Cummins, Steven Smith and Mitchell Starc are coming back from injuries and Glenn Maxwell is not completely fit to play, on the other hand India is looking for the best combinations to play in the World Cup and are experimenting with Ashwin, Washington Sundar and giving more game time for Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav.

India is not only resting their main player but has changed the Captain too. One good performance by KL Rahul and he is back in the team with a bang. Interesting selection of players and Captain for the first two ODI by the BCCI, it won't be that easy for this new team against Australia. Ashwin is a good ODI bowler and a good batter in the lower order. Yup, his luck does help him when he needs it more, last time it was the T20 World Cup and this time it might be the ODI World Cup.

The odds are just in favor of Australia for today's match. The match starts in just a few minutes from now, weather prediction is sunny. So, we could see the full 50-over match today.  I expected Sanju Samson to get a chance in these three bilateral series and for now, his future looks beak in the main squad for all formats of cricket.

The topic of Ashwin getting into the World Cup team started during the super 4 group match in the Asia cup when India was defending 213 against Sri Lanka, Axar was the only bowler who was struggling and gave away runs while everyone else bowled brilliantly and picked wickets and then the commentators and social media started talking about Ashwin in that position and how he could have bowled brilliantly instead of Axar and voila now Axar is injured and Ashwin is back in the team simply because of that match and the performance of Axar in one game and he did not perform the entire series  .

Looks like today is MD Shamis day in the ongoing match. He has taken 4 wickets and is bowling his last over. I felt he can get 5 wickets today, which he did in his last over. India has maintained the pressure on the Australian batters, a few disappointment on the field as an important catch of Warner was dropped. The target for India should be below 280 runs which is actually good to chase on Mohali pitch. I feel the Indian batters would be able to chase this target as Mohali has been always a high scoring pitch.

As per the ICC Men's team ranking, India has become the number 1 team in all cricket format. Earlier they were ranking 2nd in ODI, after yesterday's win they are now the number one team. The match between Australia and India was dominated by the Indian team.

There were issues with the Indian fielding still they manage to win. SKY changed his style of batting, he was not that agressive and was going after the lose balls. His partnership with KL Rahul made the win look easy for India.

Shami's excellent bowling helped India to restrict the Australian batters from giving them a good target. Mohali is know for high score and it did suprised me that Australia was not able to score 276 runs. Next match will be played tomorrow, it won't be easy for Australia to defeat India.

Why would you say that Proteas are not a favorite? They just beaten Australia in 5 match series, despite being 2 down. Their middle order is in some form and the opposition bowlers should be afraid of it, they are also very familiar with the Indian condition (Well, in white ball actually it's true for every SENA team).

Kiwis are dark horses as usual, no hype but they are a big tournament team.

ODI & T20 rankings are still important as they reflect a team's performance. I admit that I am not that great at judging the reason for your reply, what I understand is simple, playing nation in test format is saturated. When you check the number of teams in those formats it is big, and it will become bigger in the T20 format considering the popularity of this format. Only hardcore cricket fans like yourself would be enjoying test cricket while the world gets crazy about T20.

Cricket has been a game of mind and skills, you cannot deny how it affects the mind of an Indian fan when India plays against Pakistan. Some of what same mind influence happens when players play against each other, one of the best examples is Kohli and how he has been playing this mind game so effectively.

I agree with this. Useless bilaterals have destroyed the meaning of ODI and T20I cricket.

Pakistan, Australia and South Africa stand at 2,3,4 positions respectively.

If these guys organize 3 back to back series with the likes of Zimbabwe, Ireland or Netherlands then they will top the ODI ranking and if they manage to clean sweep then potentially remain at the top for at least 1 year. 

My overall point is a strong test nations like Ind +Eng +Aus hardly field their strong whiteball team against every team. They always try their bench strength (you can notice this even in the current series), and you can add Kiwis as well in this mix.

In contrast, teams like Pakistan + Sri Lanka +Bangladesh always go with their full strength team, unless there is some injury issue. For ex: Pakistan faced literally second string teams from Aus, NZ in the last year or so and add some WI + Netherlands +Afghanistan bilateral series, result? They were the number 1 team for a week or so.

India needed 275 to win against Sri Lanka, and Gautam Gambhir's 97 and an unbeaten 91 from Mahendra Singh Dhoni guided India to an easy win. During the tournament, Yuvraj picked up 15 wickets, and scored a total of 362 runs (including 21 not out in the final match). Kohli was also there, but his contribution in the final was a 49-ball 35. And I guess that was the last time that India won a major ICC tournament. It has been more than 12 years now.

India will play at least the semi-finals in the World Cup 2023 tournament. The fans of their country will give strength to India in all aspects in this World Cup. When 70 to 80 percent of the fans in a stadium are Indian, it will be very difficult for the opposition to perform in these conditions and the fans will give India a lot of encouragement. Every year IPL or other domestic leagues are held in different stadiums in India as well as various bilateral series India hosts in their different stadiums so the Indian conditions and previous experience of playing in different stadiums regularly will definitely put Indians ahead of other teams. 
India has already announced the World Cup squad where BCCI has arranged the team with the best cricketers.

Yeah.. just checked the scorecard and realized that he didn't played in QF and SF matches. I might have got confused with some other tournament. The pace attack for 2011 tournament was led by Zaheer Khan, with Ashish Nehra and Munaf Patel backing him up. These bowlers were quite efficient and Sreesanth got a chance only when one of them got injured. BTW, this was perhaps the only major ICC tournament where three of Australia's fastest bowlers bowled together - Brett Lee, Shaun Tait and Mitchell Johnson.
