Not exactly at home, as it this game with Maccabi had to be played in Riga. But anyway, great win and as I already said after their first win this week - Efes is hottest team in Euroleague right now.

Yes you are correct. For once I forgot about the thing that Turkish teams were playing their matches against Maccabi Tel Aviv at a neutral stadium. I was watching Fenerbahçe's match as they started nearly at the same time.

At first I was really doubtful about Luca Banchi and criticizing the action taken to send Tomislav Mijatović back to his assistant manager job. But now things seem to be working smoothly for Anadolu Efes. I'm keen on watching their performance in playoffs too.

For me decision to change coach looked strange, Efes didn't looked that bad under Mijatovic. And first months for Banchi were tough, there were more losses than wins. But now they got great form.
To get into playoff, not play-in they will have to win both remaining games. Away against hot Zvezda and at home against Zalgiris that already fight for nothing. Difficult, but possible.

Yeah, very poor 4th quarter. It just looked that Barca more needed and wanted this win. I think this result decided regular season winner. Olympiacos have remaining games with Alba and Maccabi - it shouldn't be a problem for them. So, for Fenerbahche even win against Bayern won't be enough.

Partizan lost against Zalgiris after leading most of the game and really a sad day for me to see that my team got knocked out already and that we werent able to reach the play in. On the other hand Real Madrid is struggling against Paris tonight.

I think Fenerbahçe fans had a nightmare last night. They lost 1-2 to their arch rivals Galatasaray in the Turkish Cup quarterfinals with very bad football at home.

They also lost the Euroleague match in which they dominated the first half.

I don't think Fenerbahçe can beat Bayern in Germany with this form. Bayern is in better form and needs a win more.

Crazy game between Crvena Zvezda and Efes. When it looked that Efes already won the game, Zvezda makes big comeback in the end of 4th quarter and sends game to OT. Overtime was controlled by Efes but again in the end Zvezda got another chance. But after all Efes still won the game.
So, in final round next we will see great fight between teams that fight for play-off and play-in spots.

Partizan changed whole roster after previous season, but it didn't helped to reach playoffs. What do you think was the main reason of such outcome? For me they looked not very consistent - They get few wins in a row and when it already looked that Partizan got good pace - threnthey lose several games in a row.

Anadolu Efes defeated Kızılyıldız 96-97 in overtime in a match that ended 88-88 in regular time. Here is a strange statistic: Anadolu Efes scored 97 points in their last three away games in the Euroleague. (yesterday's game was overtime of course)
With this victory, they rose to 5th place in the points table. The last game of the league next week will be against Zalgiris in Istanbul. Since Zalgiris has no claim, I think it will be an easy game for Efes.
I think they are one of the championship candidates with this form chart. We have an Efes that has not been defeated since Luca Banchi's arrival.

If the Euroleague management had not interfered with the teams' budgets, Gran Canaria would be in the Euroleague. If my memory serves me correctly, Gran Canaria were also champions last year.
I did not know that the team that wins the Eurocup qualifies for the Euroleague.
In football, the team that finishes the UEFA Europa League as champions qualifies directly for the Champions League the following season. So the same rule applies in basketball.

Yeah being the champion of your domestic league doesn't mean anything actually. 2 years ago Ulm sensationally won the German league but obviously only ALBA Berlin and Bayern Munich play in the EL because they have a long term license (Bayern) and a annual licenses (ALBA).
The format has bears a lot of controversy now, also Dubai joining soon is also kinda ridiculous.

Although Hapoel seems to have home advantage, unfortunately they do not have such an advantage since they play their matches on neutral grounds!

They played the match yesterday superiorly from beginning to end. Both teams are far behind in terms of score in the semi-final matches.

I think Gran Canaria will probably win the match to be played in Spain and the champion will be determined by the last match, but Hapoel has a better squad. Hapoel may surprise in the second match.

IMO, all games of last round should be played on same time, not divided into 2 days. Now it can open room for teams to choose opponent in playoff or play-in.

I have a dream that one day European basketball will have same or similar rules like UEFA when you get a chance to play in European competition only after successful performance in national league. My team won national league last season, but it's been more than decade since we played in Euoleague last time.

Yeah the Euroleague and the UCL are 2 totally different competition/business models. I agree that success should be rewarded with starting spots in the best league, but guess that will never happen because money rules too much. For that they have implemented the FIBA Champions league I guess. Though, of course all those other competitions don't even come slightly close to what the Euroleague represents.

I didn't have a chance to write earlier, but I made a big bet that Real Madrid would win. Big time. I believe there is no way with Real's influence that they would lose this game. Fenerbahçe surprised me again. I thought we would lose to Bayern Munich, but we won away.
Fenerbahçe started the first quarter like a storm and a 15-point difference was formed. The offensive and defensive organization was very good.
Bayern scored more points in the last quarter, but they could not close the gap that opened because they lost the match in the first quarter.
If Fenerbahçe becomes the champion, Nigel Hayes Davis will be the valuable player of the season. They made a big mistake by sending Carsen Edwards away and it is still a big sadness for me. Carsen was the best of Bayern yesterday again.

And you was right - Real killed Partizan with Tavares buzzer-beater. Partizan didn't managed to keep their big lead. But that's not enough for Real to get in playoffs. Both Barca and Efes won their games and Real will have to fight in play-in tournament. Actually, Barca was very close from losss, Virtus gave such great fight in meaningless game for them

Partizan season is like that last shot from Tavares. We lost all of these games in last attack or our mistakes. Partizan was better the entire game against Real Madrid at home but just cannot close it. Finally regular season is over and now the play offs are here so it will be fun to see who will win
