I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.

But the point is that we can still gamble provided that our kids never see us. Because the moment they see us gambling, they will also gain curiosity and then ask about it. What we did was just to keep our kids away from getting interested in gambling because of what they saw. Of course, we can't hide this forever but we can explain them well when they are capable enough to understand gambling. As long as we still have the chance not to expose gambling to our kids, the better.

There is nothing like allowing a child make any gambling decision him or herself, not when that child is still living under my roof..

I personally have my own personal conditions which my children must meet before I allow the child gamble under my roof..

First is that, the child must be above 18 years of age..
Secondly, the child must already be done with schooling,

I remembered a thread with the title keeping gambling a secret. Well, this thread is one of the reasons why we try to keep the gambling we do private, especially for underage children. As far as I've experienced in gambling, I've never even intentionally shown anything I did to my child. in this case, it is gambling. not only does it have a negative impact on the growth of their minds.
