How long for a "child" to find out that gambling is not good for them? Curiosity is the only thing that will come into their mind. Thinking of why their parents do gambling, what they gain, and if they enjoy it.

A child will only realize it when he grows up and becomes responsible in life. It's not sooner, but it will take a lot of years to pass before that happens. He may end up in the same situation as the parent, or create his path in or out of gambling, depending on how gambling will affect his life. This actually greatly depends on the kid and parenting. My kid saw me playing video games multiple times. The kid is old enough to read emotions on my face, so it was clear that I was having fun playing video game. The kid also likes to play video games, but to my surprise, I was never asked what is the name of game I play and if it is possible to play with me or just to play my game. That is actually strange, because it was a platformer, like Super Mario, the game kid plays frequently. But there was maybe 1% of interest to that game... That is why I find it strange that "kid will copy what parent do" does not apply to me/us.

It should be always that a fun stuff but you should really be that careful on dealing with it on active manner yet you wont really be noticing that it is really that already affecting you in terms of financial spending and this is one of the most common risks on the time that you would really be dealing up with gambling.It isnt really that bad as long you do make yourself that responsible or wary about on the tendency of such possible scenarios or situations. Aside the authority a parent must have in the home over their wards, if you don’t want your kids learning gambling from you, I don’t think it’s a good idea to gamble in front of your kids. Gambling addiction isn’t formed in children by just watching the parents gamble. It rather could form an interest in the child as the child would want to do as he had seen his father do. The parent is the first role model of any child and would, even without meaning to, emulate the words and actions of the parents.
Even with the authority on the children, the child would still find a way to practice what he has seen the father regularly do. If you actually don’t want your kid to start gambling, it’s much better not to gamble where they could see you doing it.

I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).

I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.

Kids can be very impressionable and the more they admire you, the more likely they are to try and copy things you do. There's a reason that gambling is restricted to 18+ out in public in many countries and a large part of the reason is stopping children, who might be more susceptible to falling into addictive habits like gambling, from getting involved too early in life. Because they remember that their father did this too and can earn a lot of money. Why it is "not like that" ? Make it simple - change gambling into working at PC all the time, make it even more simpler, you are a freelancer or coder that works remotely. The kid see you spend all the time behind PC. Does it means he will become a coder or freelancer when he grows up? Not always. I agree with your last opinion, if we really want to tell our children about gambling, it's better to tell them about the bad effects of gambling and continue to provide lessons that show that gambling is really bad and even though we can't supervise them 24 hours at least provide continuous explanations about gambling. will give him a mindset that is more like fear of approaching gambling.

As a parent it is your duty to keep them away from things that they aren't supposed to do. I think instead of say no you could have taught her about every pro and cons about gambling. I am not a parent and I don't have kids so I don't know how to handle them. As you are the parent of your kid you should know them better.
