I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).

Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.

I find it hard to understand why parents always choose easy mode called ban, prohibition, taboo? Instead of teaching, spending time, checking if kids understand. You have mentioned money. Then its parents duty to earn more, so kid wont have an idea to earn now (they will have plenty of work when they grow up) to help parents. You have mentioned strong emotions - parents should warn kids about that, give examples, try to substitute them with emotions they could get from elsewhere.

Parents easily destroy kids vision of life with a little word "NO". Hard to understand when you do something, but if kid wants to do it also or ask about it and parents just say NO. Easy to say NO. Hard to explain and wait till kid understand your point agrees to that.

Gambling is part of that. I always bet on sports, but they don't see it because usually, I input my bets at night when they are in bed already. Although, in the morning they will listen to how I react while watching the game. Well, it will just look like I love the sport so much that I react in a way that I cheer loudly for the team that I bet for. They won't know that there's money on the line because they didn't see that I made a bet.
Every little thing that we do can be big for them. There will be times they will ask questions because those are curiosity that is natural with kids and we should answer them as best as we can without damaging their innocence.
It's not easy being a parent and we must be careful when they should know things, slowly at the appropriate age so they won't end up doing things unnatural for kids.

This is true because I have seen it myself in several children who want to see their parents' activities every time their parents are using their smartphones. And the danger is if the parents are playing online gambling and suddenly the children want to see their parents gambling. It is understandable, that drinking alcohol or smoking near children is bad not only because they can take is as a habit, but it makes an impact on their health (smoking) from childhood. Smoking and alcohol can make an impact on health. However this is very personal. For example Joe Cocker, singer, smoke 2 pack of cigarettes a day and was a heavy drinker. Died at age of 70 (however from lung cancer). And there are people who have healthy life and live till 60.

But what harm can gambling bring to a kid that saw his parents gambling?

Will he immediately run and start to gamble? No.
Will he become addicted? Yes, no, maybe. No one can tell that or forecast his future.
Will he get curious what his parents do? Yes, but we cant tell if he would have a huge interest in gambling after founding out what it is.
Will he spend all his money on gambling? No, he would rather spend it on toys, candies, fast food, video games.

When there is so many no, so unclear what his future will be, why so many are against gambling in front of kids? It does not mean that parent will force kids to watch and learn to gamble, when we speak about gambling in front of them. Also people never gamble 24/7. So what is bad from seeing mummy or daddy gambling once a while? The kid wont stand next to parents still, being hypnotized and watch without moving. He will take a look, ask few questions and run away.

I think you dont have kids. If you had them, you would notice, that kids prefer to run sneak away, do things that they are interested in, instead of being or standing close to parent all the time. Because the kid his own interests, and we, adults have ours.

The world of technology is growing and advancing, even if we are not showing activities as gamblers, they will definitely find their own world, in this case the world of gambling.

And as always, we need to be conscious of what we are doing in front of our kids. As for them, what we do is something that's not bad, they will follow that and will try to imitate those things that we are dealing with in front of them. Being aware will let us lessen the chance of having our kids interested in something that we don't want them to get involved with.

Unless, which is really also possible, where parents are willing to teach their kids, and letting them to experience gambling at an early age, culture or whatsoever, but it's possible that there are family who have this kind of set up.

It depends on their age, because sometimes even if we explained it to them, they aren't fully aware and they don't really understand what is gambling all about, if we force them to give an explanation, it might even cause a child to become more curious. There's nothing wrong in giving an explanation to them but we should check it first and assess your child, it's better to keep an eye on them and see if they're really interested in what they saw or maybe they don't care, if they don't care at all, that's better.
