I knew several people who gambled this way and they all eventually stopped playing for all the money and this is quite logical. I would not recommend spending more than 10% of your income on gambling, or finding some kind of part-time job, the income from which you can lose without regret.

Yes one of the reasons why every gambler is always advised to gamble by applying a lot of restrictions on several aspects such as the amount of budget, time of involvement and limiting expectations of winning is because so that they avoid some actions that tend to overdo gambling, because as you said above that treating gambling with an excessive approach will only lead a person to a bad situation and circumstances where most likely they will experience a lot of financial problems that will make it difficult for them to make ends meet.
