In fact, in the 80s it was by far the best, but something changed in the 90s. Even though their league was starting to decline, they still managed to sign the world's top players.

They're still among the top five leagues, but more because the lower leagues haven't progressed. It's basically a matter of money and the passion of businessmen for football. Silvio Berlusconi embodied that: passion, football, and money... and corruption, but that's another story.

The stats don’t lie. Serie A’s decline is just variance doing its thing.

They peaked in the 80s, but by the 90s, probability caught up. It’s not about corruption or passion- those are distractions.

There is indeed a decline in Serie A. Italian clubs don’t have as much money to sign big-name, world-class players, and some league matches can be quite boring. However, Serie A offers a very tight and competitive title race, unlike La Liga, where the championship is usually contested only by Real Madrid and Barcelona. In the Bundesliga there is hardly any intrigue at all, with Bayern winning almost every season, and in Ligue 1 the title is almost always taken by PSG. In this sense, Italian football is much more interesting: several teams are fighting for the championship, and the battle between them is very close.

Neither do I, and the statement isn't mine, but you do read it from time to time on major sports portals that the attacking strength of Italian teams cannot keep up with that of Spanish or English teams/leagues.

The English league in particular currently boasts some top strikers, which is reflected in the relatively high average number of goals per round. The Spanish league also has some big names who are scoring goals left, right, and center, led of course by Mbappe and Alvarez.

The statement that Serie A has "weak" strikers is therefore naturally exaggerated, even if there is some truth to it. Serie a has always been interesting to everyone, yet there’s always something negative people like to say about it. Of course there has been a decline and it’s nowhere near what it used to be, but it still has that spark and fighting spirit that we can see in certain matches. There isn’t as much money to bring in expensive players, but that’s where smart decisions by some club managements come into play.
For example, since i’ve been following serie a, Juventus won 9 consecutive titles from 2012 onwards  , and they didn’t "throw away" huge amounts of money on players, but instead signed players on free transfers or for relatively small fees (Pirlo, Pogba…). On the other hand, De Laurentiis brought in many players and spent a lot of money (Mertens, Higuain, Koulibaly), yet he didn’t manage to win the title until recently. So it’s clearly not all about money , you also need smart decisions and, of course, a bit of luck

It is exaggerated, i agree, even though the statistics currently show things that way. Still, anyone who follows serie a even a little knows that there are plenty of quality strikers there. To avoid going into details and debating too much , after all, this isn’t a Serie A topic let’s focus a bit on the results.

You guessed right, i’m going to make a combination bet, and i need to do it as soon as possible because I’ll run out of time. The odds are now 2.05, which is realistically a good value on Freiburg. Realistically, every point matters to them if they want to play in European competitions next season. I also looked at the "both to score" option, where the odds are 1.63, and i might go for that instead of a straight bet on Freiburg
