All eyes are now on the match that is scheduled on the 18th between RCB and CSK. Meanwhile, the weather man says that rain is predicted to happen on that day. If the match gets abandoned then RCB will not qualify for sure. If the match happens then CSK will get a good fight from RCB. @elevates and @libert19
GT VS KKR [GAME] 63: ANNOUNCEMENT
As the match got abandoned which is why everyone who posted their prediction will get all the runs and not a single run will be subtracted from the final run score.[/b]

Looks like BCCI is not interested in getting back Rahul Dravid as the chief coach. They are now considering Steven Fleming to for that position. Again they are now planning to hire an international coach whereas there are plenty of legendary cricketers of India who can take that responsibility. I don't understand the fixation of boards in getting international caoch in the subcontinent. Why can't they ask those players who have made name for their country.

^^He had an almost 4 year contract and he's reluctant to continue as a coach so BCCI can't force him again, don't forget the last BCCI regime under Ganguly already forced (in a good way) him to accept the job. BTW there is no kink for foreign coaches in India, just look at last 3 coaches but yeah if there is good choice then why not.
Steven Fleming's name is popping up but does he want to leave CSK's gig? His current job requires only 3-4 months of commitment and I believe he earns half a million dollars for this gig. Sure Indian coaching job will fetch him more but it also brings lots of pressure and not to mention a ridiculously packed schedule every year (3 formats)

Rahul Dravid has tried and got near to the cup but failed. He will again try in the T20 format and this time he might be lucky. I don't blame him for not going for another tenure, the job requires a lot of commitment and hardwork which he might not love it anymore. Stephen Fleming will easily leave his present gig as being a coach of Indian team will make him more money. If he gets selected then I am sure he will go for new faces in the team. One thing I am certain someone from the franchise coaching unit will get selected.

If he does get into national side coaching then i guess stock of some Indian players from the CSK squad will see a jump and who knows they might get a break as well. Then Sithara will come and start again with her CSK quota stuff . IMO new players are on the radar already and doesn't matter who gets the job.

As of now it is just speculations around who will become the chief of Indian side. If he gets the job then he will get a few CSK guys for sure. Gautam's PR has now got active and they are promoting him like anything I have ever seen. I think we do need some one who is not controversial. I have read some articles that say that Mr turbanator is also looking for a opportunity. I am not sure how much correct that information is or it is just a rumor. I will be happy if someone like Sehwag applies and gets the position, he will be another Rohit as a coach due to his abilities to use adjectives right left and center.

Gambhir is not a bad choice as he's a no-nonsense guy but I guess he won't mix well with the setup (In test format) because of Rohit and Kohli as all of them especially Kohli and Gambhir have big prick energy and naturally look for domination. He'd be good in BCCI management though.
Bhajji is useless tbh. Sehwag is an interesting character and has a street smart mind, if I am not wrong then he did apply last time but lost the bid when Dravid joined the race.

According to the speculative news going on in the social media it is either Fleming or Pointing for the chief coach. To stop all internal politics BCCI will go for a foreign coach. Both these lads are already coaching two franchise teams. I would have been more happy if Gambhir could have been in the contention but those internal rifts and especially the issue with Kohli is a problem for him.

Lol Once upon a time, the Indian cricket team had an awful experience with an Aussie Coach. He was a bad influence and his presence created many camps in the Indian dressing room. I hope Punter's appointment (if it happens) does not repeat the same old mistakes. Most likely biggest victim would be test cricket, which is our strength.

Bad Luck for Gujrat Titans back to back matches getting abandoned. They never got a chance to get back to the fight to qualify for the playoffs. I hope the match between RCB and CSK scheduled for tomorrow is not abandoned as rain is expected tomorrow. If it does then there will be a big uproar from the RCB fan club as getting into the playoffs is a big achievement for their team.

Call it a blessing in disguise, their last 2 washed out matches were against KKR and SRH and both these teams are on a roll. Gujjus might have some sort of opening against these 2 because of the nature of T-20 but at the same time, now they can somehow use this rain excuse according to their convenience.

Gills has been out of form and his captaincy was not upto the standard. The team lack consistency and you are right they were blessed from not getting shamed or booed by their home crowd after their disappointing over all performance due to the rains. It's unfortunate that without Hardik this team cannot go to the playoffs and Hardik with his new team also didn't qualify for the playoffs. That being said I feel Hardik will go back to GT in the next season or he will be droped from the leadership of MI.

Close to 40 average with SR of 147 isn't bad IMO but yeah I don't remember him impacting a match singlehandedly with the bat. The only inning I can remember is his ton along with Sai Sudharsan. AT Motera, the booing was only reserved for Hardik and Gill is new with his captaincy gig so not sure if spectators were going to boo him in any scenario, also he has a reputation. Ha! Well, not updated with the drama so can't add anything on Hardik leaving or not.

The average you quoted is his overall batting performance in IPL and not particularly in this season. He got only one ton like others namely Rohit, Jaiswal and I am forgetting another name. His batting timing and shot selection has suddenly gone bad to worse. Not sure that the limelight made it more bad or he is out of his best form. For Jaiswal I am certain that the attention from media and his sudden financial gain migs is an issue. I doubt Hardik will be having good days if he keeps performing in the same manner in the upcoming T20WC. Already he is getting more hate after becoming the captain of MI from the fans and from the critics of cricket. The upcoming ICC event might be his last chance to shine or he needs to again find a Godfather who can help him in his career.

His IPL career average is 37-ish with SR of 135-ish and this season he's averaging 38-ish with SR of 147-ish so I am positive. Yes, Hardik had a bad run but I still think he's a clutch player and an asset for the Indian white ball team. If we had his replacement then sure, your argument stands true but as of now, we have virtually no experienced seam bowling all-rounder in the white ball.

When Gill was made captain, people already suspected that he might lose his form and this is what exactly happened. In IPL 2023, Gill was orange cap winner, and his tons played large part in GT's wins. If Hardik was still the captain then I assume he would have still played good as he did last year, now that he's himself a captain he'll have to get accustomed to captainship so it may take a while to do both duties properly.

Shubman Gill was made the captain because they didn't had anyone else who is suitable for that job. Kane Williamson is there, but he was unavailable for most of the matches. Then there is Wriddhiman Saha who is close to retirement at 39 years. Another option is Rashid Khan, but he also doesn't have much experience in captaining IPL franchises. What happened to Gill in terms of his form was unfortunate. But I still believe that the GT management did the right thing here.

I'm not saying Gill is bad choice or anything, he's fine, it's just that it may take a while before he can manage both batting and captainship responsibilities. I'm not sure if Williamson was unavailable, he was there but wasn't given chance in squad. On Saha, bit rude but Saha doesn't deserve to be in squad, rest alone captainship. I'd put Rashid as in same league as Gill but ofc domestic talent takes lead over overseas ones.

Important game today for both RCB and CSK and rain is predicted. I am not expecting any miracles but if RCB win then it will be a biggest comeback this year. They were once in the bottom of the points table and no one expected them to play so well and win back to back games.
BTW, BCCI has approached Gambhir for the chief coach position as per the sports media outlets. If he gets that job then many senior players will not be happy.

Today will be the most competitive match, the team who can win today's match will get the opportunity to play the semi-final match. Because Royal Challenger Bengalore team has positive points, and Chennai Super Kings team has positive points. In this match, Royal Challenger Bangalore team has the biggest chance to play the semi-final match if they win.
