Ironic, really. Had I followed my usual leanings, I'd have gone for Slovenia not to lose, and others, but anyway, I still got points from France win, Germany wins -- which were against my leanings.

So all in all, scales seem balanced and I have 3 points. Probably safe to not get relegated, but not in contention for prizes. You bloody bastards.

The crazy highlights from Portugal - Slovenia are Ronaldo missing his penalty and Pepe almost let Portugal lost because his legs gave away lol. Im not even sure why Roberto Martinez would let him play for almost 120 minutes. He is 41 years old and his fitness level is not on par with Ronaldo, he should have switched him out in ET but Costa really saved Portugal from losing there

Aside from these two highlights, overall its pretty boring. Another potential point lost because Penaldo failed his penalty

After losing a point because Portugal couldn't win with two goal difference, I'm somewhat sad that Šeško didn't score that goal after Pepe lost the ball. And what to say about penalties... Slovenia players need to learn how to shootout penalties.

I picked less than 15 so I am hoping for a couple of goalless draws. It is ironic cause I picked over 2.5 on the Austria-Türkiye match, so I am going to lose a point anyway.

How good was Diogo Costa in the shoot-out? Those were no bad penalties, maybe the last one was cause they had already lost, but to save 3 straight kicks, never get too excited an stray far over the line, he really was prepared for this moment.

Damn you Ronaldo, he scored like 25 penalties in a row before yesterday. For me he ruined:

- Ronaldo to score
- Portugal to cover handicap (would probably pass)
- Ronaldo 2-3 goals in the tournament (would look decent, now it doesn't)
- overall goals in R16 (now we're sitting at 13 and getting to 19 will be tricky)

I really epected more from Portugal. Most of the extra time they were actually waiting for the penalties.

Yeah thats like atleast 3 goals on each game, kinda seems impossible unless Turkey - Austria pull abit of twist for us. I dont really expect much from Netherlands though, I guess it could be another 0-0 or close 0-1 game with Romania defending all the way

Don't think you're the only one, despite all of us as I can see from our past posts agreeing Ronaldo shouldn't be the key player, Portugal sticks with him and almost pay for it.

Not sure about Germany but only Spain is the one living up to their reputation, hence proving and justifying why I think they are still the ones to be watching out for.

This game between Portugal and Slovenia is also a boring one. It's best when a team scores a goal in the first half. Then the opposite team has to attack more and a game gets more interesting. This way with 0-0 it's a boring game. I even fell asleep in my sofa at the end of the second half.

Yeah, if first half in knockout stage ends 0:0, it's big possibility that in 2nd half there won't be goals too. With every minute price of mistake is getting higher and there is less time to fix it. Underdog park a bus completely, favorite still push, but don't risk too much.
Diogo Costa is hero of Portugal. First he saved that lethal moment after Pepe mistake, I can only imagine what relief Pepe got after that save. And then all 3 saved penalties, wow.

Netherlands should easily have been about 2-4 goals up at half time to say the least, they really should have put this game to bed already because they created way too many chances that was squandered and that could hunt them in the 2nd half because Romania are a deadly team while on the break or counter attack, just like they did versus Ukraine in the first game of the group stages. And if not for anything Austria have already made it know how vulnerable the Dutch defense can be sometimes too.
