Yes, they have lost their chance in the Premier League to go to European competition next season, so the Europa League is the only way for them to be there and even then they have to make sure they can win the title.

It will not be easy, but it is not impossible. Last season they also got a miracle where they were able to beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final so they could be in the Europa League, and maybe this season they can get the same thing by becoming champions in the Europa League.

It's definitely not going to be easy as I think they are playing against the toughest opponents of them all. Bilbao is a beast. I know that you guys have different opinions about playing home or away from home first, but I think this is the small advantage that Manchester United has. If they can get a result that is at worst a loss with one goal difference, everything is possible. If Bilbao wins with 2+ goals, even at home it is going to be hard to advance to the final. Bilbao is not as strong, but similar to Inter Milan. They have good timing, strong defense and are able to stick to their plan for the full 90 minutes. Manchester United rather doesn't lose the first game with more than 1 goal difference.

Right now I will say Manchester United is my favourite to win this Europa league. According to bookmakers it is Tottenham Hotspur that are actually favourites to win this Europa league and the reason why I think they picked Tottenham higher is simply because of the route that The club will be taking to the final. Tottenham managed to game out on top against Frankfurt who were just so lucky. Tottenham faces Bodoe, although this is the Europa league semi final and that Bodoe are capable of winning just any team but Tottenham will be superior than them because they have a better players qualify and with the season almost at a end  for Tottenham I thin think this is all they have to show for this season and even get them back to the champions league next season

Tottenham does look like they have an easier path to navigate because in the semi-finals they will face Bodo/Glimt while Man United will face very strong Bilbao.

But if we talk about my favorite team, I also prefer Man United. Because even though this team looks bad in the Premier League, strangely this team looks like they have higher motivation in the European League. So I wouldn't be surprised if Man United would also overwhelm Bilbao and in the end Man United would succeed in beating Bilbao and advance to the final. And if in the final it turns out Tottenham is waiting. then I think Man United will be more favored.

And I feel that Tottenham will actually have quite a difficult time playing against Bodo/glimt. Because one of my favorite teams from Serie A, Lazio, even lost to Bodo/Glimt. But it is very likely that Tottenham will still win even though the match will be a very fierce match.

The reason why Spurs look like they have a higher chance, is because the odds are divided for United and Bilbao, normally nobody expects Bodo to win against Spurs, so Spurs is "almost" guaranteed to go to finals, in my eye they are definitely guaranteed, unless something shocking happens, Spurs will be in the finals. Of course this is football, and we said the same thing for Lazio, and Bodo managed to beat them, so if they do the same then Bodo could be in the finals but I honestly do not expect it.

Whereas, things aren't that simple on the other side, Bilbao and United are both good teams, and there is no shocking result, either could go up and it would make sense, the gap between them isn't huge, so that makes the odds fall a lot for them.

Tottenham Hotspurs have budget and are growing hugely as a commercial entity, have the best stadium and training facilities, A data driven transfer approach focused on 19 to 25 yr olds and A strong sporting structure but Tottenham haven't won a trophy since their League Cup title in 2007-08, but can this season be the one where they finally taste success again?

In my opinion Manchester United can still win the Europa League for a simple reason: there isn't another really big club left. Athletic Club may be the most solid team among the four left but they are able to alternate great matches to very bad ones, for example when they lost 4-1 against Besiktas, one of the worst team of the competition. Manchester United have already qualified for the semi-finals so now they only have one hurdle to reach the final, hopefully they will overcome that hurdle because their opponent in the final is Athletic Club who are actually not much stronger than Manchester United. If Manchester United play without taking too much pressure and if they accept their opponents naturally, work on their various weaknesses and strengths and play accordingly on the field, then I believe Manchester United will finish the first league match with a good result.

Winning the first leg is very important for Manchester United. If they can win the first leg then the next round will be a little easier for them.

Athletic Club will not make mistakes as Lyon did, Manchester United has to improve before next game, one problem is refusal to be scored too many goals, there are clubs that are good with defense, once they first scores by one or two goals ahead, they can defend those goals till the final whistle. Both Spurs and Man Utd leading tonight and on aggregate in their respective ties. They’re both having really pathetic seasons domestically but they have a chance to win this competition and be in next seasons CL as a reward.

What Man United are pursuing in the domestic league, there is no hope anymore, they just need to keep from being in the relegation zone, the rest of their focus is the Europa League. because this is more realistic considering that winning the Europa League is the same as next season they will play in the Champions League. Maybe Man United's strategy this season is the same as last season, they focus on the FA Cup so they can enter the European league and now they focus on the European league so they can enter the Champions League.

Me myself I never believed for once that Manchester united will go this far in the Europa league but it happened though it is not because of how well they have been playing but rather they are just lucky and the matches has been favoring them regardless. Moreover, I think another thing that has made them go this far is there experience in the Europa league same thing with Tottenham Hotspur, you can attest to that, there performance is not encouraging yet they are at the semifinals now and if care is not taking they will still win and qualify for finals. I am not surprised that they reached the semi-finals, but I do not agree that they can easily reach the final, it seems to me that the semi-finals will be their toughest test in the Europa League. And if you consider how weak their defense is, then I would give preference to Athletic Bilbao, especially since this tournament is no less important for them than for Manchester United. I agree with you, because among the 4 teams that are currently in the semifinals, I think the team that deserves to be the champion is indeed Bilbao. Because from the beginning of this competition, Bilbao has shown quite good results. The proof is that in the preliminary round Bilbao managed to finish in 2nd place, then in the last 16 Bilbao managed to beat a big team like Roma. Then in the quarter-finals Bilbao managed to beat Rangers and finally entered the semifinals. I think by looking at Bilbao's journey to this point, it is much better than the other 3 teams. So with that, I think Bilbao deserves to get the Europa League trophy this season.
