V3c firmware seems to have fixed my issue with 2 and 3 reporting 0.  Smiley

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Ok I just did an upgrade without first installing the "V2 bin"

I simply clicked on update firmware and chose "LAG3355_12-RC10c.bin" and clicked "upload"

That worked like a treat....... Roll Eyes

Good for you.

Doesn't work for me sadly. :/ I get the "Failed to unpack" no matter which way I try it.

Are you getting a lot of stale shares? What freq and pool are you using?

I am using 22 and 25 for each TP-link on version B at 850. They run great for a few hours and then start spewing 30% stale shares on wafflepool.

im using 850 and i have 0.2% rejects, so i guess im cool Smiley
im not doing multi pools, im not a fan of them, people dont realise they are bull sh*t, its better to stick to a coin.

Yeah, I'm trying liteguardian right now and controller seems to place nice with it.

By the way, new features coming up: auto frequency tuning, revamped mining algorithm (+30kh/s/miner), detecting the IPs of running LightningAsic controllers...

Have upgraded to V10c and I like it esp the miner log screen Smiley  Problem is with my VARDIFF pool coinshift.com the LA connects to it gets work and hashes at difficulty 256 for a few minutes but once the difficulty jumps it jumps to 3200 and stays there Sad With CGMiner my diffs change up and down proportional to shares/sec.  Is this a case of another pool that the LA doesn't like?

is there a way to repurpose these controllers and use them as routers? I just tried to SSH / telnet into these suckers, and the connection closes both times once its connected to them..

It changes to whatever diff the stratum pool is at, this was done to reduce the reject rate on a number of pools, primarily Ghash.io, because when the stratum tells you to change the diff but doesn't assign a new job, it's causing a flood of rejects. We're trying to keep the reject rate as low as possible, even when that means that some pools may not work properly as a result of that, there are many pools you can choose from.

For some reason I seem to be getting more HW errors with this firmware version compared to cgminer on RPi.

Trying to upgrade v2 controller with LAG3355_upgrade_v2.bin, but I'm getting this error:

Code:
Copied phpbxJW4u to /tmp/upgrade.bin

Starting sysupgrade...

Sysupgrade: cat: write error: Broken pipe cat: write error: Broken pipe cat: write error: Broken pipe cat: write error: Broken pipe Invalid image type. Image check 'platform_check_image' failed.

Firmware update success!

System will reboot now...

OK, thank you.  I'm looking forward to the improvements you are making in future Smiley  I shall try some different pools.

Try the v1 bin image.

That's nothing to worry about, I would actually ignore HW errors unless they affect your hashing rate.

Try the v1 bin image.
Thnx, working now!

ps: Did you consider implementing some kind of autotuning feature? Would be nice if the software would be able to automatically adjust the frequency per miner to get the highest shares / lowest hw errors.

After 12 hours of mining @ Ghash.io, and that's on crappy internet...

I have one LA controller upgraded to V3 and another LA controller upgraded to V3c both work a lot better than the original versions 1 and 2. Great job on the new firmware. Looking forward to your next upgrade with auto frequency tuning. Thanks for efforts.

I keep getting "failed to unpack" messages on every single bin I try to upload to the controllers...both of them. I'm REALLY aggravated at this point, because the version of the firmware I'm using, I can't even get my miners to submit shares on half the pools I use, seems like. Serves me right for not waiting to see if it was stable before flashing it.

If you have the first version of a V3, try a LTC pool. I have one on V3c and one on V3. The V3c is running better but both work fine at 850. Don't try to adjust individual miners with the first version of V3, it starts spewing stale shares and rejects. Do a hard reset and it should work fine on a straight LTC pool at 512 dif.

I am pretty sure it is a different hardware setup and it will not work with this firmware. I still like the original wiibox controllers (up to 2.1.2). You just need to overclock them to 850. They can still dual mine BTC at roughly 100gh SHA and 3000-3100kh scrypt per 10 miners.
