Can we use this on original Gridseed controllers?? I mean WIIBOX ??

Flashing will work on Wiibox controller, they essentially have the same chipset.

I have successfully flashed a wiibox using the directions in the OP and the following software (Win7)

Download WinSCPPortableApp http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/winscp_portable

Log in to your wiibox as "SCP" and enter "root" for the username.

The password is either

2.02 or lower "123456"

2.0.3 or higher "+xTjPR4L%V?=s4-!Ahz3~FXZM^sW:gA_"

Then copy over the V1 upgrade image to the root directory and launch a terminal window within WinSCP (or use putty.exe to SSH in). Type "mtd -r write LAG3355_upgrade_v1.bin firmware" and click execute.

It will freeze and need a hard reset. Then you will be assigned a new ip address by your router.

Type in the new address in a Chrome 'incognito' session and upgrade to the V3c firmware. Walla!

I have a few of these wiibox controllers that are now extra if anyone needs one pre-flashed to the V3c firmware. I paid $50 each and I would sell them for the same. Send me a pm if you need one.

Edit: I have four wiibox controllers running V3c  left. One on reserve.

After flashing my wiibox to V3c i can acess control panel and insert pool details etc but i´m having problems detecting the miners, sometimes one or two appears but then they disconnect again, i´m using a 10 port hub with 10 miners connected Sad

Power cycle your controller, that should fix it.

Why not? Just make sure to daisy chain properly, have one root hub where the other hubs connected to.

It can handle up to 50 miners, we have tested that ourselves, and there is a screenshot of that somewhere in the LA main thread. The wiibox controller could probably handle double of that.

It's really weird, but I am finding better results the more miners I add to a single controller. I have six of these spread out between 48 miners. The best results so far are when I have 27 and 21 on two controllers. I cannot get everything on a single controller without moving between locations. My hashrate goes from 16700Kh (4 controllers all set to 850) to 18700Kh (2 controllers at 850). Also, the wiibox controllers us a lot less memory. Anyone know the specs?

The wiibox controllers have double (64MB) the RAM, so yes. It still would be interesting to see anyone attempt to hook up 100 miners on a wiibox, we haven't had the chance to push the firmware to the limit yet, since the 32MB on the 703N was holding that back.

sandor111,

Any chance you could enable API listen support?  Those of us using Rig Leasing services really benefit from being able to accurately report hashrates directly from the miner instead of relying on pool based statistics!

Things are running great on my RPi so i'm definitely a low priority, but it seems like you're making great strides in the original LA hardware performance and i'm considering a switch back.

Best of luck and keep up the good work!

-Eric
