Chelsea lost to Manchester United and then lost to Brighton, the trust on the team is slowly fading indicating they are not as strong as we expected.

They fought well against Brighton, but conceded two goals in the final minutes to lose 3-1. Brighton scored twice through Welbeck, and Chelsea were defeated. It was a shame for Chelsea to suffer such a defeat before their Champions League match. I'm sure the manager is very upset about this. They absolutely must win at home against Benfica, as they had already suffered a Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich in their first match.

I’m not denying that the club has quality, but there are so many moves that are not really football, and their constant lying on the pitch just to waste a few more minutes of the match completely killed the charm of football for me. Everyone had high hopes for Chelsea this season, but it turns out Chelsea haven't been as good as expected. They've been inconsistent this season. The Chelsea players' confidence crisis began after their loss to Bayern Munich. Since then, Chelsea have seemed to be playing less than optimally. And the loss to Brighton was one of the things that really upset me. I thought Chelsea would win that match, as they had led since halftime. But the red card completely ruined everything. I don't blame Chelsea's performance entirely. If Chelsea had played with 11 men until the end, I think Chelsea would have beaten Brighton. I'm sure of that. But since Chelsea played with 10 men in the second half, it's perfectly natural for Brighton to win. Especially since Brighton managed to score two goals late in the match. And that was a stroke of luck for Brighton. So, going into the match against Benfica, I'm still optimistic about Chelsea.

I haven't been following up on Benfica form and results since Mourinho took over there I know it's going to take some time for him to fully settle in but one thing is for sure he's going to give everything against Chelsea; the first time meeting them since he got sacked there.

After Joe Mourinho accepted Benfica's offer and became their current coach, I became pessimistic about Chelsea's chances of winning against Benfica in the second week of the Champions League. Furthermore Chelsea haven't won in their last few matches against strong teams, except for the League Cup against Lincoln. This naturally lowered their mentality and confidence before facing Benfica, which impacted their performance. Furthermore Benfica is coached by a highly experienced manager, so I'm confident Joe Mourinho will spring a surprise in this match.

I am not comparing the two clubs because the players are apart in terms of individual brilliance the last time this two clubs faced was in the last club World Cup round of 16 or quarter finals where the game went on to extra minutes where Chelsea won 4-1 but we all could testify that we saw a completely different Chelsea side in that competition they went all the way to winning the trophy against the best club in world football currently this shows that Chelsea can turn in big moments and win like a big club, if it is base on this history and even H2H then Chelsea will win this game. There is a surprise stats that whenever Chelsea faces Benfica in a competition they don’t only win the game they head to win that competition too, this is one ambitious take right now.

But let’s be realistic this Chelsea side doesn’t look like defeating this Benfica team that is enjoying a new manager bounce, since they signed Mourinho they have won 2 games and draw one out of the three they played while conceding just two goals, just like Chelsea they endure a loss in their first game with it embarrassingly been against Qarabag which got their manager sacked I think they would want to build on the new manager bounce and get a win in this one, most especially with Mourinho looking to get back at his former club
