Bodo Blink has been fantastic this champions League. I was taking their progress in the champions League up to this point as been luck but watching them play a good side like Sporting and scoring three goals is not luck but is a sign that the team is a good team and should not be taken as a small side anymore.

Honestly speaking, there progress this Champions League is really commendable and once again they prove to be resilient, especially in that there home soil, I always knee they would put up a hard fight against Sporting but I didn't see the 3 goals up. It's better to stack this goals up for there second leg when they will be playing Sporting away, I didn't get to see them because of the bigger matches but it's worth praising

Vinicuis Junior fails to make it 4 - 0 after Donnarumma saves his penalty kick that would have been more crucial for Manchester City. But how on earth is Real Madrid beating Manchester City 3 - 0, in my wildest dreams I never imagined this Real Madrid side can beat Manchester City 3 - 0 at HT, well maybe that's just why they are the best team in the Champions League since it's inception. Again, how on earth did Velverde score a hat trick against Manchester City, I'm just imagining it how! Since I'm not in a place where I can watch it live, I'm just having so many things running through my head, I will just have to wait after full time and watch highlights.

Valverde casually scoring a hat trick, and the only 3 goals of the game for now, in a UCL competition against a team like Man City with the better part of their squad shows how prepared Real Madrid was for the outcome of this match. 3 goals is already too much to keep up with, and unless City is able to make this not end up like a clean sheet, the possibility of equalizing in the leg 2 of 2 is almost zero.

I'm wondering what's running in Pep's mind at this point. Sometimes, the outcome of the game isn't really what you plan it to be. Maybe they can keep Madrid from scoring anymore goals in Leg 2.

I still clearly remember that 2 days before the Madrid vs City match, a lot of people were saying Madrid would lose because Mbappe was injured. Some even said City was better than Madrid right now. But now look, Madrid scored 3 goals in the first half. So who’s better now?

PSG secured a crucial victory. The 5-2 win against Chelsea was truly spectacular, one of the highest-scoring and most enjoyable matches we've seen in recent years. PSG's final goal in the last minute was especially important.
Normally, we'd think the team that scores five goals and wins would advance to the next round. However, Chelsea didn't play badly either. I'm very curious to see what happens in the second leg. The last-minute goal gave PSG a huge advantage, but we should always be prepared for surprises

It's incredible that Real Madrid are beating Manchester City. I wouldn't have bet a penny on this result.
I would have bet on Manchester City having an easy match in Madrid. But it's not always the team in the best form that wins. Even without Mbappé, they're playing very well. Now the bookies are rebalancing the odds for the next round.

This seems to be a result that many people especially those on the forum didn't even expect because looking at the last few pages of this thread we even know that Madrid were not favored in this match but the current results (although the match has not ended yet) but Madrid are very comfortable with the Aggregate advantage they currently have.
I won't say it was a miracle but Manchester City played very poorly in this match especially when they tried to anticipate Madrid's attacks. Even the 3 goals scored by Valverde should be able to minimize the Manchester City defenders but because the player's guard slackened and focused more on the area then this is what happened.

6 EPL representatives did not seem to get the expected results in the first leg because Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham all lost and 2 other representatives for Arsenal and Newcastle they only got a draw for the first leg.

Bodo/Glimt is really surprising a lot of us with their performance and that is because we did nit expect such from them, or maybe should we say they have not faced the likes of Madrid and Barcelona or PSG that happens to be very experienced champions league teams, but even with that, their performance has been really commendable I hope to see them pass this stage of the champions league.

I can't believe that Real Madrid is winning Manchester City by 3:0 in the first half because the bookies gave them bigger odds simply because Mbappe is not featured due to injury. Bodo/Glimt has also scored 2:0 against Sporting Lisbon, they are becoming dangerous honestly. PSG is winning Chelsea by a score of 2:1.

Look easily match for Madrid at first half match scoring 3 goals agains Manchester City and still cleansheet not conceded goals yet, I believe many people have prediction Manchester City will win the games but looks Fede Valverde playing very well and make hattrixkat first half match. Its brilliant games and Madrid fully dominance without giving space for Manchester City make many shots on target or scoring the goals.
Other games, PSG leading awhile 2-1 against Chelsea but most unbelievable Bodo/Glimt success leading 2-0 against Sporting Lisbon, Bodo/Glimt home record in champion league most impressive by defating top teams from Man City, Inter and possibility Sporting Lisbon would be the next teams.

Many people did not expect something like this in this match, honestly Real Madrid make a surprising turn up in this match, from the first half that Real Madrid score 3 goals, I already knew Manchester city is going to face a very tough match tonight.

No one expected Manchester City to loose this match but unfortunately they did, and till now I’m still surprised to see city lost this match, and now as it’s stand even the second leg Real Madrid will still do wonders, leg see.

Chelsea managed to equalize the score to 2-2 but PSG doesn't want to miss the opportunity to play at home and they scored 2 more goals so the final score was 4-2.

I literally didn't rate is much looking at our defense, thanks to tonight goalie we conceded more and asie Joao Pedro for me we don't have an attacker. I think it's better to agree Chelsea are out already, scoring three goals against PSG at home is no easy feet and not like our Stamford Bridge is any special place for us again.

Bodo/Glimt is really putting in so many efforts to go far in this Champions League. The scoreline of 3:0 against Sporting Lisbon is already a clear indication that they will qualify for the quarter finals because i doubt if Sporting Lisbon can get a comeback of 3:0 when they will play the second leg. Nobody saw Bodo/Glimt reaching this far and i think that the country they are representing which is Norway will really be so proud of them. Bodo/Glimt has won several European teams since the Champions League games started, their consistency has been massive and i won't even be surprised if the reach the semifinals or even the finals because they are becoming so scary in every match they play.

I was skeptical of Manchester City winning Real Madrid even as Real Madrid wasn't in form, and I am not surprised that Real Madrid won Manchester City 3-0 at Santiago Bernabeu because I expected Real Madrid to win Manchester City. Manchester City would have had a chance to reach the quarter final if they had scored a goal against Real Madrid, but I don't think that Manchester City will qualify for the quarter final because they can't win Real Madrid 4-0 at Etihad Stadium in their second leg.

As if you are too pessimistic about Real Madrid, even though some of their core players will miss this game I still believe Real Madrid will overcome Man. City in this match. considering Real Madrid will benefit this time from playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, I think the Bernabeu will rumble and will support Real Madrid until the end of the game regardless of the outcome.

It was a great game, successfully holding Manchester City without conceding a goal. I had my doubts, but in the end Madrid didn't waste any opportunities. Overall, it was a great game, all the players performed well, just as we expected. Even though they are leading 3-0, that doesn't mean the job is done. Real Madrid performed very well today. I never expected them to perform the way they did because of the injury issues they are having with a lot of their best players, Real Madrid always do very well when it comes to Champions League, no matter the situation they always perform excellently, in today’s match they played with determination and they really wanted to win the match because they want to lift the champions league title this season, big congratulation to Real Madrid. They have done their best and I believe in the return match they will still play very well, Manchester city cannot win them anymore because of this goal difference they have already given to them, Real Madrid would have made it 4 goals if not for the penalty missed by Vini.

To be very honest with you, I am very much disappointed in Manchester City that's they could not do anything tangible against Real Madrid who is not in their good form. Should I take this to be the wonders of Champions League or the carelessness of Manchester City. I managed to check the formation that Guardiola played with, and I understood that you chose another formation rather than 4-3-3 formation. Without prolonging talks, it is obvious that Manchester City is off and they cannot proceed to the next round of the Champions League.

Apart from Manchester City, so many other English teams had very proper formers this time around. Imagine what happened to Chelsea as orchestrated by their goalkeeper. Chelsea is also out. In fact the only England teams that have chances of qualifying to the next phase of the Champions League are;

2. Newcastle
3. Liverpool

Real Madrid didn't just but City, they seriously trashed them... Unlike Mancity they weren't able to create any kind of successful goal chances.. And honestly If not for the miss of V Junior it probably would have ended with a 4 goal win... I could see the frustration written all over City players most especially that of Pep their coach... And seeing the way Real Madrid player at their home, I still doubt if there would be anything like a comeback for Man City in the 2nd leg even though they may be having the home advantage...

I think Luis Enrique is primarily responsible for PSG's struggles in this match.
He brought Kvara on when the score was 2-2, and Kvara's performance with 2 goals and an assist put them in the lead.
Chelsea put up a good fight, but I think they made the wrong choice regarding goalkeeper today.
Chelsea's goalkeeper shouldn't have conceded either of Kvara's goals in a match at this level.
Even though PSG have gained an advantageous score, I think the tie is still open. Chelsea will beat PSG in London, but I'm not entirely sure if they can win by 3 or more goals.

What a poor performance from the English side in the first leg of the round of 16. None of them was able to win their match. This isn't telling good about the English side despite having the highest number of clubs that made it to the knockout stage. Both Manchester City and Chelsea is automatically out of the competition. Only Arsenal has hope of qualifying to the quarter finals.

Four games today and three surprises.
The major one is Real easily beating Man City 3-0. Man City was a slight favourite when I last checked the odds, but they got run over by Real and I don't think they'll be able to come back from this in the rematch.
The second one is Bodo/Glimt thrashing another higher-ranked opponent on their way. I think bookies saw it as a 50/50 game but the Norwegian club was again very efficient in converting their chances into goals. They're slowly turning into a dark horse of the tournament.
The last surprise was Arsenal failing to beat Leverkusen, and the German club earned a 1-1 draw at home. Still, Arsenal will be a big favourite in the 2nd leg, but Leverkusen's hopes are still alive.

PSG beating Chelsea is not that much of a surprise, but the scale of the victory is a bit greater than I expected.
