PSG are already leading by 2-0, Liverpool look so helpless and it's really frustrating to their fans. PSG has been demystifying English clubs from last season and up till now. From what I am seeing here, Liverpool might have that comeback through divine intervention, because PSG is literally breaking their entire wings, they've dominated the midfield, they force attack more, they've forced Liverpool to stay back more. No wonder Simeone didn't put in much effort in their previous La Liga match, it turns out he prepared a surprise for Barcelona in the UCL, those two goals were enough to make them comfortable facing the second leg later and I agree that the red card was one of the reasons that made Atletico successful with their efforts, the match was over and the score 2-0 for Atletico victory lasted until the end, but there is still the second leg and I am still optimistic about Barcelona. The first match outcome between Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool was quite expected. After all PSG is better and played better than Liverpool which looked like a team in the relegation zone of Ligue 1 more than a top English Premier League team.
In the other match, it was the opposite. Atletico Madrid did not dominated the game, yet they extracted goals successfully from their few attempts, at the time where Barcelona failed to score, took a red card and played the second half with only 10 players. That was another defeat in their records after the Copa del Rey although winning after in La Liga.. That's said, we should not underestimate the capacity of Barcelona to recover in the second leg.

I like the way they perform because once they see any opportunity they are blow it up, I am still not comfortable with their Victory because Barcelona is a very dangerous team that normally come back is never a problem to them even though they went for an away match. A comfortable performance from Liverpool, if they do want to stand a chance against the reigning champion (PSG), they have to do better. PSG totally dominated the game from the first half till the last minute. If only Dembele was very clinical in the final third, the goal difference would be much. It was a huge surprise indeed, I never saw this match ending this way and I am still battling to accept that the match has ended in favor of Atletico Madrid. The money I lost betting on Barcelona to win is not even what bother me the most, the fact that Barcelona were two goals deficit at Camp Nuo is something that will never make sense to me. With such a score, the chances of Barcelona turning the game around is very slim given how stubborn Atletico Madrid can be sometimes. The red card might have played a huge part against Barcelona but there is no room for excuses in a match like that.

That 3-0 defeat in the second leg was played in Camp Nuo but this time, the second leg will be played in Metropolitano stadium which is a big difference because Atletico will have all the advantages at home. You call want they did tonight  surprise? Barcelona  is just poor at scoring goals. if not, there's  nothing stopping  them from getting nothing less than 3 goals tonight excluding   the red card .

There was no surprise at all in their games, its same ol atletico , even with 10 men all they could do was defend  while they  wait for opportunity  to counter. Don't  get me wrong, I'm  not saying they didn't  play well in tonight game, their strategy gave them 2 goals. I'm  just against what you call surprise.

I think we all saw this defeat coming. I was even expecting something way worse, but it only ended 2nil. I honestly don't know what's going on in the Liverpool dressing room at the moment, because I wasn't too sure of the lineup that Slot picked ahead of the game. He left Salah on the bench for the entire minutes of the game. I wouldn't say it's quite unusual because he has done it a couple of times before now. Nahhh... I wasn't expecting a goal from them the moment they received that red card. I was just hoping that they don't concede too many goals instead. Before this very game, I had a slight hope in Barce to win this game. I knew they would always find ways not to win the very moment Raphinha is not part of the squad. It's quite unfortunate, and it seems Raphinha is not going to be available for the second leg, so the chance of a possible comeback against a Haram Diego Simeone side, is very thin. Beautiful freekick goal from Julian Alvarez should be the best goals in quarter final round and this match Barcelona have to played with ten players after VAR checking and Pau Cubarsí get red card at 44th minutes.

Difficult second leg and away match for Barcelona next middle week will face Atletico Madrid, if want to qualify next round must win above three goals and not easy winning from Atletico at their home match. Agree. PSG's current squad is very strong. In the last season we have seen that Luis enrique has relied on the young players in his squad. And he is still trying to add young players to the squad. Every player in PSG's squad is very talented. As these players  gradually become more experienced, psg's squad will undoubtedly become even stronger..

Losing a player always changes a club's situation and in the second half, although Barcelona tried until the end with their possession, it didn't seem to be enough to allow them to reduce the aggregate in this first leg.
Losing Cubarsi to a mistake that shouldn't have been made was put to good use by Atletico and this clearly worked to their advantage.

This looks like the perfect revenge for Atletico but if we look at how Barcelona did with 10 players this euphoria should not be sustained for long by Simeone because he must try to get more out of his current players because there is still a lot to improve.
At least with these 2 goals the confidence of the players can be further increased although the situation will still be very difficult for them.

The other match I wasn't surprised Liverpool lost to PSG because it looked normal although I was disappointed that they couldn't score a single goal and just tactically defended the whole time.

I acknowledge that PSG are playing good football recently but I do not agree with you that PSG is the favourite to win the champions league. Right from the beginning of the champions league, Arsenal has been the favourites but recently it seems that Bayern Munich is topping the favourites chart and not PSG.

When teams face this type of fierced match, the best thing to avoid is being red carded. Red card ruins beautiful matches and it has a way of making favourites to lose.
But for both matches, there is still hope. 2 goals lead triggers interesting match in the return leg

The second half kicked off minutes ago and PSG are still leading 1 nil. I expected PSG to score more goals at home but they have just been wasting their chances, so far Liverpool have made able to keep the lead at a minimum. They will be hoping to make a comeback at Anfield.

First and foremost, PSG players don't have respect for elders and again, my issue with Liverpool is that they are still relying on somebody who's not good any more, talking about van Dijk, he has been the leader in the back line of Liverpool for years and now he's making that back line look useless and they can't protect the goalkeeper. At half time it was all about PSG from the beginning to the end even when they started the second half nothing productive came out for the Reds, is so sad that the fans have to witness this lose. As it stands nothing seems to be working for Liverpool, attacking force zero, defense zero the midfield that have a little hope was nowhere to be found tonight. Very much expected result and performance form PSG, it was a walk in the park for them as they dominated the game from start to finish, well spectators and PSG fans are quite not happy with the score line because they feel PSG should have scored more. Now they have a 2 goals advantage in to the second leg, it a good one for them and they are looking like a strong favorite to win the champions league this season again.

It been a very disastrous season for Liverpool and Arne Slot, we saw that he mentioned in a comment last week that he might consider retiring if the need arises. A lot was expected from him and the players this Season especially considering the amount they spent in the transfer window. Atletico Madrid got a wonderful away win at Camp Nou and the second leg at Home against Barcelona will be more intense but I don't think their fully defensive strategy will be helpful to hold a two goal lead against Barcelona.
