Barca were doing well in the first half but the red card ruined all their plans. On top of that, Alvarez's great free kick goal made an unexpected first half end for Barca. Yamal tried to do a lot but couldn't find the net. 2-0 is looking bad for Barca but in second leg they can beat Atletico while both teams play with 11 players. They've made things very difficult for themselves but it's not impossible.

There's not much to say about the other match. PSG won as expected. Second leg shouldn't be difficult for them. I'd say PSG are already the first semi finalists.

Barcelona is just trying to remedy the situation of the red card, but they should be very careful with Atletico Madrid so that they don't concede further goals. Even if Barcelona won't equalize of get a comeback, they should try and maintain just a 1 goal difference so that it will be easier for them in the second leg. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have met 4 times this season and this will be their 5th meeting, each time they meet, the team that suffers a red card ends up losing the match. Atletico Madrid is still in pain of what Barcelona did to them in the La Liga, so this is basically a time for revenge and besides, Atletico Madrid also want to reach the semifinals so if they win Barcelona, they will be at advantage of qualifying. Barcelona should not even try a counterattack in this match otherwise they will end up hurting themselves when Atletico Madrid will use it against them.

Atletico Madrid scored another goal in the second half and won the Barcelona 0-2 at Camp Nou, and as it stand now it will be difficult for Barcelona to overturn this defeat on the home soil of Atletico Madrid. With Atletico Madrid winning 0-2 at Camp Nou, Atletico Madrid are at advantage of reaching the semi final and since Raphinha wouldn't be available for Barcelona in the second leg, I think Atletico Madrid will reach the semi final.

We have seen Barcelona overturn a first leg defeat in the UCL, don't be surprised if they do it again this time because as far as i know, Barcelona is a brave team, and they can give hope to their fans when they have almost lost hope. Atletico Madrid has already done damage to Barcelona when they dismissed them from the Copa del Rey, Barcelona can't just allow them to also get rid of them in the UCL. What affected Barcelona today was just effects of the red card, it has nothing to do with Raphinha's absence. They played their La Liga match without Raphinha and they won Atletico Madrid so there's no need bringing up the issue Raphinha's injury. I don't know why am getting the feelings that Barcelona will get a comeback but if they don't, they still tried their best because it's never easy to be very active in the La Liga games and the Champions League games.

You know what, we all like to say that the English premier league is the most competitive but with what I have been seeing in this round.. I think let's give this title to Spanish or German teams because slow & steady the English league is turning into some farmers league right Infront of our eyes!!

Liverpool performed badly in the second half and they paid dearly for it. With what I saw in the second half, PSG had the chance to score Liverpool as much as five goals in the second half but Liverpool were just lucky that PSG were able to score just one goal. Arne Slot isn't even supposed to be Liverpool's head coach up till now, but for Liverpool board not to sack Arne Slot I don't know if Arne Slot would still remain Liverpool head coach when the season ends.

I watched the Barcelona game but I checked the Liverpool game and it was PSG game to win. Gakpo wasn’t better than Sallah he replaced.
Mendez had a comfortable match and although Sallah maybe washed he might have still put pressure on the PSG fullback.
Not much can happen for Liverpool at Anfield, PSG will be looking at winning both of the legs.

With what we’ve seen in the first leg of this encounter, I don’t think we can see anything different than this in the second leg. At Anfield, there is little to none that I think that Liverpool are going to do against PSG. The popular narrative is already out there and it is very likely that PSG will have to win in both legs. Liverpool are not playing a better football than PSG, their performance has reduced badly and I don’t think they can do anything at this point after conceding two goals against PSG.

This could be the end of their journey in the champions league, and they’ll have to try again next season. It just remains an imaginary thing to see how Liverpool moved from being the best team last season to who they are today. They’ve really fell way below expectations and I don’t think they might be able to do anything about it at this point because it looks to be too late already. This season don’t look nice for Liverpool, I hope they’ll be better next season than they are now.

I don't understand Liverpool fans, why are they peeved about the result they got at the end of the game? I don't believe this is really happening because the Reds travel from England to face PSG at the Parc Des Princes stadium and what do you expect? Some kind of miracle that the visitors will triumph over the home team? This is not EPL but the UEFEA Champions League and we know the defending champion are Les Parisiens.

PSG are done with Liverpool, that's all I can say because we watch the game and the performance from bothsides, Liverpool was more like they're down to 10 men, they only counter and couldn't hold on much longer when it comes to pressing.

Wonderful performance from Atletico Madrid today they just did the important thing which is to score and win the match. They are not there to play beautiful football. They just wanted to win and that is one thing I love about a team you cannot be playing a beautiful football with a score or without winning when it is wonderful football is when you win a match it does not match how you played what matters is whether you won the match, congratulation, Atletico Madrid they have done very well. They deserve to win.

PSG dominated throughout the match between them and Liverpool I know and I’m sure that everyone knows that PSG will win Liverpool, so the win was not a surprise to anyone. With the way PSG is playing they may likely lift the champions league again. They are playing so well.

Atletico beat Barca in one of the cup games, but Barca were better in all of the other games. The 4-0 match was really an exception. This won't change in the Champions League either. Barcelona already have better form. They also have the advantage of playing at home, so today they should get a good result. The match has started quickly, there's no goal yet but both teams try. Goals will come soon. Atletico also started good, both teams may score.

A lot of people must have being disappointed by this 0 : 2 defeat that Atletico Madrid has meted on Barcelona tonight on their own home despite how they were looking stronger and better after winning Atletico Madrid 4 : 0 in that their last game.

No both team score, no much goals, just a 0:2 cleansheet by Atletico and it now leaves much pressure on Barcelona towards the second game that would be played at Atletico's home. If Diego Simeone wouldn't go back to defending than going with attacking tactics then it would be very hard for Barcelona but should Atletico play defensive, it would give Barcelona a huge chance to mount pressure till they get passed those two deficit goals to qualify to the next round.

Even though we should expect the unexpected in football at all times, not for Liverpool to shock us to win PSG. That's unforeseeable for Liverpool poor state of performance. I would consider Liverpool coach to remain with Liverpool till the end of the season. Liverpool appearing at the top of the Premier League(below 6th spot) will determine Arne Slot stay in Liverpool as their coach. Anything far from that, Arne Slot should expect his sack before the beginning of next season. That's my take on Liverpool and Arne Slot matter

It would have been better if Barcelona scored one goal at home. Going away with 2 goals down doesn’t look good at all for Barcelona. It was a careless red card for Barcelona. It would have been better if Cubrasi didn’t commit that foul, even if Atletico Madrid had scored from that attack, they would have had better chances of coming from behind to win. If we are being honest here, Barcelona chance of progressing is very slim. I don’t want to say impossible, but if they want to win and progress, Raphinha have to be fit to play that match.

I don’t think Liverpool loss came as a surprise to anyone, their fans included. At this point Liverpool fans should be grateful that the result wasn’t more than what it is. And if by any chance PSG don’t qualify, they will blame themselves for not killing off this match during the first leg. Chances upon chances were squandered by psg players especially Osmane Dembele. Liverpool were totally outclassed. The result gotten in this match didn’t reflect psg dominance in that match.

That unexpected display from the Atletico Madrid's was truly impressive, especially now that they where written off and Barcelona considered favourite to win in the game but they where able to put a surprising display that made them claim the victory at last. I will say today's game is one of its kind as both teams did marvellously well starting from the first half of the game to the end but I won't stop commanding Atletico Madrid for there excellent performance.

As for that of Liverpool against PSG, it is so conspicuous that no one will stand strong on there victory because the PSG we see now are way better than them. So that PSG's 2 to non is even below expectation from what I expected before the game started.

Anyone going for that kind of intensive match should prepare for the worse. Although Barcelona tried, even after recieving red card, they still dominated the second half until the second goal happened. There's a good possibility of coming back in the second half.

If Raphinha doesn't play, they are not making that comeback back. Just so you know, they are not going to play from the Camp Nou but rather at Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium. So many people do not know how important Raphinha is in the Barcelona line up. Soon they are going to find out

Many people say that nothing is impossible in a match yeah when almost everyone thought Barcelona would win but something unexpected happened red card scenario bothers Barcelona and has to concede 2 goals if there was no red card, the result would have been different. This is not over yet, there is still the second leg match but still it is not easier because Atletico Madrid is playing at home. I really can't imagine how the Champions League will be like this season without Real Madrid and Barcelona  

By the way PSG also won easily today and it seems Liverpool are just trying to play defensively, imagine throughout the match they didn't shoot on target yeah maybe they will try to turn things around in the second leg.

As expected the defending champions defeated Liverpool comfortably in at home, played better, dominated the game especially in the second half and the goals wasn't much but Liverpool was so lucky not to have conceded more than 2 goals I would have been an automatic qualification for PSG because they won't lose in England since Liverpool is yet to recover from their struggles. Arne Slot has tried his best but the club is bigger than him may be if he fails to qualify for champions League next season Liverpool will have a better replacement.

Just after Cubarsi saw the red card, Atletico Madrid scored to give them the lead. Immediately I saw the goal, I remembered how this same Alvarez took the free kick and scored against Real Madrid in the first leg of the league match when they won 5:2 against Real Madrid. Look at how he placed the ball and the Barcelona goalkeeper stretched at full length and couldn't get to it, that goal was like a double jeopardy for Barcelona, they got one of their players sent off and the next minute they are picking the ball from the back of the net. The red card that was refused Atletico Madrid in La Liga just about four days ago was finally given in the champions league. Karma is a bitch.

Why it is always the same scenario for Barca on Champions League, the same way they got knocked out last seasons, they start strong, get a red card and then everything goes against them. We see a great dominance from the squad, but defensive mistakes are killing the team, midfielders are not doing their job when it comes to gaining the ball back on every counter attack which creates a dangerous situation for them.

The second leg is more difficult for Barcelona than in Real Madrid’s case against Bayern. However, I expect at least one Spanish team will qualify and show us a great comeback.
