Arsenal got the easier route on their way to the Uefa Champions League grand finals this year, I think the toughest opponent they played would be Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals. It was kind of unexpected to see Paris Saint-Germain dominating the whole game today especially since it is the grand finals and I was initially expecting to see an intense and exciting game between these two teams, but it seems that Paris Saint-Germain was clearly the better team to win the trophy this year even though Arsenal did tried to drag the game into a penalty shootout.
The crowd was really impressed by the quality of play of Paris Saint-Germain in the final. Arsenal seemed unable to develop an attacking style and were forced to defend throughout normal time. It was an indication that the game strategy of the opponent was too challenging to do away with at present. The name was well deserved by the team with which the field was dominated.
Arsenal didn't really play well against PSG, just trying to play defensively without trying to launch many attacks like PSG, as a result, Arsenal couldn't maintain the 1-goal lead they created early in the match. I had suspected from the start that PSG would definitely win the UCL title again because seeing PSG previous performance against Bayern Munich showed PSG great determination to win the title again, congratulations to PSG for being able to win the title twice in a row.

As for me, Arsenal played well because if they had not played well, the match would not have ended in a draw. Let us know that football is all about tactics, especially when it is a final. Both teams have to come with tactics that they believe will give them good results.I have seen many comments saying that Arsenal played defensively throughout the game, but my question is: what did you expect Arsenal to play with that kind of squad, especially when their attackers are not aggressive? Arsenal did not need to play more than they did yesterday because if they had made any small mistake and gone all out to attack PSG, I am very sure PSG would have scored many goals. This is because of the kind of tactics PSG usually play with. They are always very aggressive. Did we not watch PSG against Chelsea and Bayern Munich and see how they scored many goals? When teams try to attack them, it often seems like an opportunity for PSG to score. So, I feel Arteta tactics yesterday were good. A team can only be blamed when they change their pattern of play and it does not give them a good result

That's the more reason why so many of us didn't want Arsenal to win anything because of noise pollution, yes they haven't won it for long and naturally people were supposed to be behind them cheering them to glory, but their fans made too mouth out of it and even started trolling every other fan. They finally won the the league and instead of celebrating they started trolling after 22 years of trophylessness. It became worse when they started talking much if the champions league, online Arsenal fans started manufacturing lies, I will look for a list of that and post later, they claimed they were going to be the first team to win Champions League unbeaten, same them claimed to be the team to win the champions league with the least number of goals conceded. I just laughed, you guys don't know football, Arsenal won't be setting any record because whatever you listed has already been done by other teams previously. The only record you're setting is for yourself alone and that's winning it for the first time

You mean this inscription

I never knew that arsenal fans were that noisy, not until they won their first premier league title in 22 years, and even those that I never knew were arsenal fans even acted worse than both Chelsea and Manchester United fans that are always known as a noisy fans.
Yesterday I wanted them to win because it's a team that I like, but the bad behavior of their fans made me celebrate their losing, so that everyone can have some peace. Grin

Arsenal team's defensive tactics have always been a subject of criticism, but all defense is also a kind of strategy in football, it's only bad, unwanted, and boring because Arsenal makes use of it and succeeds in most ways in their games. Yesterday it worked too, making Arsenal an undefeated team through out the champions league tournament. The penalty session was not just in their favor, also, Raya did a great job in the match for Arsenal.

We witnessed a great final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. Although there weren't many goals, we saw the effort of both teams. Paris Saint-Germain, in particular, was the superior team in every aspect of the match. Nevertheless, after 120 minutes, it was Paris Saint-Germain who lifted the trophy on penalties. Arsenal could have won another championship after their Premier League title. However, they couldn't, and I'm sure they are very disappointed. They will try again next year.

PSG won the Champions League in that unforgettable match where they beat Bayern Munich 5 4. imo that legendary match was the real final of this tournament... Bayern's only misfortune was the draw only Paris could have knocked them out and due to bad luck in the draw they faced them in the semifinals and were eliminated. Otherwise imo Bayern Munich was a far better team than Arsenal.

It won't leave the fact that Arsenal made PSG struggled to win trophy, see how it was easier for PSG to score even when Bayern Munich manage to equalize but could they do that against Arsenal? If not for Cristhian Mosquera's foul on Kvaratskhelia maybe Arsenal would've won that match cause it began to favour them after PSG equalized.

I won't deny that the first half was boring cause Arsenal defended mostly and wanted to rely on counter which didn't worked perfectly but when Arteta brought in some attacking players the game changed and was tough to the point that PSG had to drop back too. I used to be against Arsenal in the EPL but they really tried, they weren't beaten in 90mins unlike Bayern Munich.

true. but Arsenal's frontline was seriously lacking as always. in the rare chances they got inside the PSG box, they couldn't string a decent pass together let alone find the right positioning.
you can't just play football by setting up a rock solid defense and hoping the attack might somehow nick a goal or two.

Arsenal's attack was indeed non-existent for almost the entire match. After scoring, Arteta's side dropped so deep into defense that they effectively had no one left upfront; whenever Arsenal won the ball, there was no outlet passenger to kickstart a counter-attack. You can't blame the Gunners for this, though—they were just doing what they do best. Their defense is world-class, but Arsenal still haven't learned how to transition effectively from defense to attack. I think that's exactly why they failed to score any more goals against PSG.

It's not been a great final, I was expecting something more entertaining to be honest but I get it, many times there is too much pressure and the only thing that counts is winning or not. PSG deserved to win because they played more football; Arsenal scored very early on and since that moment their strategy was to simply defend the result, Atletico Madrid style.
I'm only wondering about how confident Arteta by told his club to fully defend instead of keep pressuring PSG to score more goals to kill the game. The first 5 minutes were good for Arsenal coz they were doing high pressure, and Havertz scored due to the Marquinhos's mistake.

However, what Arteta is thinking to have confidence to play defensively by having only one goal lead.

If he pushes his team to always attack instead of doing a parking bus. I believe they could also win this. So it clearly tells they didn't even learn from their result against City, when they played defensively, but City was thrashing them.

It's hard to call them as a team with winning mentality.

The match was not as you describe it. It is not possible to predict the events on the field of this match by looking at the match statistics. Both sides were repeatedly counter-attacking each other, primarily PSG got the opportunity to take shots but Arsenal did not get the opportunity to take short ones. Arsenal was very defensive after scoring in the first half, it must be admitted, but in the second half when they conceded a goal from a penalty, then they tried to score. But they did not weaken the defense in the greed of scoring goals, but rather tried to maintain a balance between attack and defense. When the match was the Champions League final, neither team was ready to take extra risks. It was always said that Arsenal's pressure tolerance is relatively low, and that is where they failed.

Most of critism came to Arsenal because they had just lead in early minutes which mean Arsenal potentially can added more goal if playing more attacking but unfortunately they have wasted those opportunities and make the decision to playing defensively besides that this strategy have showed Arsenal don't have champion mentality because fear to lost and with their composition of squad which very good quality if Arsenal dare to attack i am sure they can scores at least 1 more goal and some people have considers because this is the final game then both teams should go all in and not showed negative football but unfortunately Arteta has just make this final game so bored because during the game we only see PSG dare to attack and controlling the game

A fast start by Arsenal that was and Arteta wanted to keep the score to the end. Havertz could have even scored another one and probably ended it. But I see it kind of a turning point of the match...

PSG stood up and fought hard. Penalty shootouts was a chance for Arsenal again. But those missed ones were just horrible! At the end of the day I see a deserved championship for PSG. Just enjoy that back-to-back!  Smiley

In the Champions League competition, I consider everybody a worthy opponent, the least expected can beat you and tue most overrated can also lose. Nothing was easy for Arsenal, they fought hard as every other team did.
The game against Atletico Madrid was great nonetheless, and they came out victorious.
PSG would have won the game with more than three goals if it was Atletico Madrid, they already did when they met during the FIFA Club World Cup Competition.

The season ended with a painful defeat for Arsenal. Gabriel made the same mistake that was suspected under pressure. The title depended on his shorts, but he failed to defend the title. However, it was a great match with a lot of excitement.

Congratulations to PSG for winning two Champions League titles in a row. This is a great achievement for Luis Enrique. PSG are now having the best time in their history, winning the Champions League two seasons in a row is not easy. Mbappe may be regretting today's match more, he left PSG to win the Champions League title, and after he arrived, PSG started winning the Champions League consecutively.
Literally it's true the season ended in a hard fought defeat for PL club Arsenal, who at one point had the potential to win two trophies this season but we saw that they did not get their second title, the Champions League. You are right that Gabrielle went to bed under pressure, which resulted in PSG winning the final of the Champions League 4-3 on penalties. Honestly, the title depended on the Brazilian player, as a result of which he missed the penalty and PSG set a record and they became champions. I think this is a great achievement for them because this team is having the best time in history, winning two consecutive Champions League trophies.

Paris Saint-Germain players displayed great confidence and ease during the penalty shootout. It gave the impression that they could easily score any penalty. Although Raya saved one, two Arsenal players missed their penalties, handing the trophy to Paris Saint-Germain. Reaching this level again is not easy, and mistakes are unacceptable once they've gotten this far. Arsenal players made mistakes in the penalty shootout, while Paris Saint-Germain were the better side. In the end, we witnessed a Paris Saint-Germain team that won the championship for the second consecutive time.

Smiley

I’d really been hoping Arsenal would win the Champions League; they would have fully deserved it. But it seems bad luck continues to haunt them in the Champions League; just like last time in 2006, Arsenal took an early lead but ultimately failed to lift the trophy

Although Arsenal scored the first goal, Paris Saint-Germain took control of the game and found the equalizer. After that, we were completely focused on going into extra time. With few chances created in extra time, the match went to penalties. Arsenal lost the cup on penalties, while Paris Saint-Germain emerged victorious. It was a great match, and I congratulate both teams.

We have seen Arsenal's match strategy in every match of the knockout round. So there is nothing surprising in their performance. Arsenal played defensively as usual and managed to draw the match. Even in extra time, neither team was able to score a goal. PSG won the Champions League final last season by a huge margin of 5-0. This season, they won in a penalty shootout. PSG was lucky, no doubt about it. However, PSG dominated the entire match. PSG had 72% ball possession in this match.

That's right, Arsenal game throughout the UCL especially when entering the last 16 was more of a defensive strategy, it was proven that they had never lost, but to get the title they had to be brave, and I expected that in this final, the fact that their efforts only played defending one goal from the initial goal they scored even after PSG scored an equalizer, Arsenal still did not play more offensively, Arteta probably wanted to win on penalties, considering Raya was quite reliable but luck was not on their side.

Grin

You can't say they have bad behavior, all these things are happening because they found a different way of getting the job done and that has been the pain of rival fans and yesterday I watched a video of a Chelsea fan celebrating that the Gunners didn't win the UCL, why because Chelsea is the only London club that have won it and it should stay that way, then I realized that the progress of Arsenal is the pain of these fans. Arsenal fans need to do whatever they are doing because they have been mute for a very long time and after winning the EPL title they found n their voice back at least they have something to talk about when any argument comes up, they are in the conversation for winning the EPL title, so rival fans should get use to it, 22 years isn't 22 days.

I’d say so! Paris Saint-Germain certainly played a brilliant final, but I was hoping Arsenal would win the Champions League, simply because they’ve never won this competition and I’d have loved to see them celebrate. But that’s all right – Paris Saint-Germain managed to keep their cool during the penalty shoot-out.

Arsenal failed to live up to expectations in this match. PSG played a truly dominant game from start to finish, demonstrating just how much they wanted the trophy and ultimately winning the Champions League. Despite conceding a goal early on, PSG didn’t lose focus and continued to ramp up the pressure. Arsenal had prepared well defensively for the match, but in games like this, playing defensively isn’t always the best option. As we saw when the game went to a penalty shootout, Arsenal was weaker than their opponent in penalty kicks.
But without that penalty kick in the 64th minute, Arsenal might have been the champions. the proof is that even though PSG dominated from start to finish, in the end they couldn’t score a goal through open play. In fact, many of their attacks were repeatedly thwarted by Arsenal’s defense. One mistake Arsenal made was relying too heavily on total defense. They only started attacking aggressively after PSG equalized. In fact, I think if Arsenal had played that way from the first half, they might have scored again. because PSG also sometimes let their guard down when constantly pressured.
In that match, the dominance shown by PSG didn’t make them look superior. It’s just that seeing Arsenal constantly defending made the match less exciting. but through that match, I realized that Arsenal and PSG are actually evenly matched in terms of strength. it’s just that they have their own ways of handling the game.
And I congratulate PSG on their second UCL title.
If PSG hadn’t scored that penalty, could they really not have won the Champions League? I’m a bit unsure about this because, in my opinion, PSG was the team that really wanted the trophy, so they kept up the pressure until the very end—and that pressure led not to a goal, but to a penalty. They converted the penalty, but they might not have.
Arsenal focused too much on defensive play. When Arsenal scored the first goal in the 6th minute, morale at PSG dropped briefly, and if Arsenal had attacked for a second goal instead of sitting back, perhaps a different outcome might have awaited us.
That’s exactly what I mean. Arsenal made a mistake by immediately retreating into a total defensive shell once they were up by one goal. and that was a huge mistake that allowed PSG to regain their focus while continuing to pound Arsenal’s defense. In this match, we saw Arsenal’s defense prove to be truly impenetrable. And PSG demonstrated that they could mount attacks without compromising their defense.
PSG ultimately made history. But Arsenal also did something great because they managed to reach the final after so long. Maybe next season they can try again.
Game management really played a huge role in the outcome of this game, Arsenal have gotten the advantage of winning the first goal very early but I believe their mistakes was to go all defensive against a small side like PSG, they have the patience to keep attacking until there's an opening and this approach is very risky for Arsenal because there's still so much time to play and you are all defending. But I must sincerely commend arsenal for their defense because they really made PSG work hard and they remain very coordinated for a very long time not to talk about the fact that they have been impressive throughout this season which makes them one of the best teams in Europe and as for PSG, I commend their balance, they did really well by attacking and still maintaining stability defensively. Arsenal really tried and there is no shame in losing at this stage because they have proven to be one of the best team right now, if the team continues like, they will lay hand on the champions league trophy in no time.

I actually wanted Arsenal to win, but I think they played as if they didn't want to win. I expected Arsenal to play better, more attacking football after scoring, but they chose to defend against a team with such a strong attacking line as Paris Saint-Germain. They conceded many chances and were lucky to have gone to extra time after only conceding one goal. But luck only goes so far. Paris Saint-Germain won on penalties thanks to their experience. I wholeheartedly congratulate them.

This is the statistical result of our overly high expectations for an exciting final, and the result was incredibly boring. I fell asleep watching it and woke up just before extra time. Arsenal fans should realize that playing defensively will not win the Champions League title. The hopes of all club fans in Europe came true, namely that Arsenal failed to win the UCL trophy.
You lie when you say the match was boring, goals isn’t the only thing that’s exciting in a match, Arsenal came with a structure and game plan as well as PSG. Arsenal were unlucky not to win.

Football isn’t all about attacking and attacking, more recognition should be given to defending. The likes of Barcelona lose out because their defensive play is not as strong and yesterday the attack of PSG couldn’t do shit.. all those shots and no one could pass the goal.

It’s unfortunate Arsenal failed to complete the English all round title winners across Europe.
