It's said that Oliver Glasner is closing in on signing a deal with Milan. This is going to be his first time managing an Italian team if the deal happens.

He had a really good time at Crystal Palace to tell the truth. 1x FA Cup, 1x Community Shield and 1x Conference League. We shouldn't forget he won the Europa League with Frankfurt too.

I think he can be a good choice however their squad needs serious changes for success!
Fabrizio Romano has reported that there are links with Feyenoord, but he is prioritizing Milan. If Oliver Glasner does end up at Milan, it wouldn’t be a surprise. Milan wants Oliver Glasner because they hope his experience in European competitions can once again become a strength for them.
Failing to finish in a position that qualifies AC Milan for European competition is a setback for them, especially as the rivalry with the other Milan team continues.

His achievements with Crystal Palace—winning the Europa Conference League and the FA Cup—as well as his Europa League title with Frankfurt, serve as strong evidence that Oliver Glasner is the right man for Milan.

He’s undoubtedly an excellent manager, but he’s up against a league that’s far from easy; Serie A is much tougher than other leagues. What’s more, this is yet another managerial change for Milan, yet the squad remains exactly the same, and in my humble opinion, many of the players in this team should be let go. If I were in charge, I’d sort out the squad first and make it more competitive

The team Glasner coaches is no pushover. I think almost everyone who understands soccer agrees that the English Premier League is a highly competitive league with such exciting competition that the team Glasner currently coaches—Crystal Palace—has become a destination of choice for many top players looking to take on that challenge.
I don’t agree that Serie A is a tougher league than others.

Glasner, who prioritizes Milan if he has to leave his job in England, knows that Milan is a team with an extraordinary history.
Coaching a team as big as Milan is certainly different from coaching other great teams.

I see Serie A as a much tougher league than others. It’s true that there’s a lot of competition in England and it’s currently the best league in the world, but there are rarely any surprises. That’s how I see it!
Obviously, the Premier League’s appeal is ten times greater than Serie A’s; in fact, English clubs can now spend incredibly large sums, partly thanks to TV rights.
However, if Glasner were to join Serie A, he would be an asset that should by no means be underestimated.

When Milan was playing well from the beginning of the season, the same coach was there. The same coach was there at the end of the season. So the coach should not always be blamed for the team's poor performance. When a team's performance deteriorates after a long period of good play, the depth of the team is questionable. If the team's depth is low, then there is no point in blaming the coach and the players, because they are not against nature.

AC Milan's depth as a team is relatively low, so it was natural for the performance to gradually deteriorate after a good start to the season, but I still think the coach and the players should be held accountable for the defeat in the last match.
In every football league, in every match, we can't be overconfident. No matter how well things start from the beginning of the season, we shouldn't be complacent. In fact, it's a great incentive for things to start off strong, as this provides a cushion at the end of the season, which is when most clubs start playing at 100%. It's always the same, but in the end, something is always missing.

There are some players who are leaving and actually already signed for another team at Inter. Dumfries for example. He is going to Real Madrid.

Chivu has done a superb job so far by dominating the season in the Serie A. I guess the board would let him be free with selecting the players they will sign this summer.  Tongue

I don't expect them to splurge on a player as usual. They don't even need that to win the league.

It would be a very interesting move for the English man if he eventually becomes Milan's coach, the man has enjoyed some level of success with Crystal Palace, he won the FA cup with Palace beating Manchester City the season before last and this season he won the Europa conference league with Palace, I think it's time for him to take up a bigger challenge with a big club and Milan might be a good start for him.

Crazy sums?  Grin Inter haven’t spent crazy sums for years now, as they have to stick to the Financial Fair Play rules.
And I’m sure they won’t be spending much this year either – perhaps just on Palestra to replace the departing Dumfries, who’s gone to Real Madrid.

So the transfer strategy continues: if they sell, they reinvest and buy; if they don’t sell, they leave the squad exactly as it is.

Exactly yeah. Inter hasn't even been doing so for a long time. The highest amount they spent for a player's fee is always around €35-40m the most as far as I can see.

The Italian league isn't like the PL either for example. The revenues aren't even close to there. You know how much even the newly promoted PL teams make from TV income and so.

I think Febrigas is the perfect one for this Milan side if they want to leave Como sign him directly . They are fully deserved for Milan job they did incredible job at Como.  I am expecting the same for Milan the only hope for Milan to be change and count him in europe.
There's a problem that's both small and big at the same time: Milan's coach. He has to be the right fit for the club's style. It's difficult to find a good coach these days; every coach has their own style and wants to impose it. If they do, the style of play changes. The problem is knowing how to choose them. Milan's downfall wasn't just bad luck; it was a lack of strategy. They have good players, but the blame falls on a coach who isn't up to the task. This is a difficult situation.

It was not only their lack of strategy in that game, but they also weren’t serious. They underestimated their opponents and didn’t put enough energy into their performance, which made them lose.

Even before that game, I had a glimpse of hope that Como would make it to the Champions League; the fall of Milan was the rise of Como, which is exactly how life works. Milan need to do more, as they are capable of much more than what they displayed this past season. I hope they change their ways and find a better strategy next season.

It's funny you think Serie A is tougher than the EPL. Actually, it's the reverse.

That aside, Glasner did well in Germany by winning the Europa League with Frankfurt. Also, in England, by winning the FA cup, Community Shield, and Europa League with Crystal Palace. So why can't he succeed in Italy?

It’s not funny, it’s just a matter of perspective. As far as I’m concerned, Italy remains the country with the toughest league; if you don’t agree, there’s nothing I can do about it, but I respect your opinion.

Glasner could do very well in Serie A, but it’s not easy to arrive and win the league at the first attempt; one of the few to manage it was José Mourinho.
Now Glasner has to face a different kind of reality! Milan currently don’t have a squad competitive enough to win the Scudetto

Serie A is a very tough and evenly matched league, as you can clearly see from the current results.
Teams at the top of the table often struggle against those at the bottom!
Something that hardly ever happens in the Premier League!
The Premier League is more gruelling because of the many cup competitions, so more matches mean more fatigue

I don't agree on the part that "hardly ever happens in the Premier League". It happens a lot in the PL as well.

That's the top quality league now as well. They showed it again by having 2 champions in 2 UEFA organizations and having a team in the CL finale too.  Smiley

The Serie A is tough, yes. I have no words against that. But I don't think the general quality is the same as in the past anymore. I'd love to see it back though.

I also don’t agree with you on that, it happens very well in the premier league, we saw relegated wolves beat Arsenal in the league, we saw Manchester city drawing teams like Nottingham forest, Everton and so on. The thing is Italian league is more physical but premier league is more intense. For me premier league is simply the best.

Both league are very good and have their characteristics, that just it. And I’m every league upset happens every season, that is why it said that football is very unpredictable.

Even in European competitions, we have seen premier league teams dominated this season, the league is definitely living to it hype.

First it was Glasner and now it's Amorim who is said to be very close to an agreement with Milan for the manager job.  Tongue

Source: Fabrizio Romano

This tweet came today by him so I guess this must be the updated news about Milan. Amorim and Glasner. Both are actually really good managers.

But signing a decent manager isn't enough by itself. They need a better lineup for next season. Is Leao leaving for certain?

Source: Fabrizio Romano

This tweet came today by him so I guess this must be the updated news about Milan. Amorim and Glasner. Both are actually really good managers.

But signing a decent manager isn't enough by itself. They need a better lineup for next season. Is Leao leaving for certain?
I think it certain now, Ruben Amorim will be AC Milan manager next season. For me I’m not really happy about this appointment though I would for him to prove me wrong. Amorim is a very rigid coach and that not what Milan really need this minute, they need a very flexible football especially after how they ended their season with Allegri.

I think Leao will be leaving, he his open for a move out of Milan. Now that Amorim will be incharge I don’t think his style of football suit Leao style of play, so even if he stays I don’t think he will be getting much playing time.

Top clubs are linked with the Portuguese international, I think he will get a decent club if he finally decides to leave after the World Cup.

We live in times where things are like this; it's not easy to see a team like Milan fall and see Como go to the Champions League. I just hope that Como makes the difference, otherwise it will be a waste of time, something like what happened at Napoli two seasons ago where they did absolutely nothing, and that's wasting a spot, a spot that another club wouldn't have wasted, where they didn't even get past the first round. I hope Como doesn't end up like that.

Joining the league phase of the Champions League is so valuable for Como no matter how their journey end there. Because we should take a fact into account that they will make lots of money just for joining and playing matches. Wink

They can make their finances better even if they don't manage to get past the phase. But I really like Como's game to be honest. They could do surprising things despite the inexperience there.

I agree getting a good coach is not the end. It is just half the job.

However the point you raised about the team is logical. If you do not have the suitable player in your hand then it is not possible for any coach to use any sacred breath to dismiss the inner turmoil. And if we talk about Rafael Leao, I would not bet on him leaving the team on his own. He acknowledges to his own urge to take on a new and difficult challenge. But Milan has not officially received any offer or big deal from any big club. And afaik Milan's top brass is not pushing him out.

Of course if a suitable bid arrives in from the middle then whole scene could turn upside down. So judging by the current market conditions it seems that Amorim has a better chance of taking over at Milan than Liao leaving the team lol,,
