I am watching the African Cup of Nations third place game between Egypt and Nigeria. I won't watch the second half of the match because the Super Eagles are playing without some of their key players, and because of that, the match isn't interesting to watch. Egypt is dominating the Super Eagles in terms of ball possession, while the Super Eagles have more chances than Egypt, and the Super Eagles scored a goal, but it was disallowed because of a foul committed by Onuachu.

I am also watching it and was not too disappointed with the performance of the Super Eagles. Even with the absence of some key players they are giving the Pharaohs. Nigeria have had two goals disallowed. The first disallowed goal was controversial. The second one was a clear offside. The second half is far better; the Super Eagles' attack is doing a good job. The removal of Victor Onunchu is bearing fruit, he was sluggish up front.

This is getting interesting now because I've been wondering how we could perform without Victor Osimhen, also from what others have been saying, the first lineup is important because that will tell more about how to tackle the match right from the early stage before things gets out of hand, it will also be a shame to the Nigerian super eagle if they couldn't make up with this and beat Egypt flawlessly.

We should remove our minds from this game. I was watching a program in a local station when they fine tone the station to the Match and I always change the channel to action movie to entertain myself in the evening. Many people in Nigeria will not watch this game because of anger. As for me, I don't even know who is playing and why is happening today match. At first, I didn't even know the time of the match and it was when the TV station shows the game that I knew it was 5:00pm.
Whether Nigeria or Egypt wins, non of my business. I will watch the final tomorrow and I will be supporting Senegal in that game.

No doubt, it's true that every meaningful Nigerian who is a lover of football will not want to watch today's match between us vs Egypt dub to the performance and outcome of the last game we played against Morocco. How the Ghanaian referee compromised against the Super Eagles, and the VAR, disregarding all fouls done against Nigeria and the unnecessary yellow card that was given to Calvin Bassey, and the unseriousness of the two guys (i.e Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi) who lost the penalty kicks, making many person's lose interest in today's game. But however, I'm currently watching the watch, and I could confess that the Super Eagles are actually playing quite an excellent game, as the super eagles have been privileged to score 2 goals and yet the referee disallow it base on biased judgement.

The match must have ended but the AFCON tournament is still and soon Nigeria will be fighting for the fourth position which we don't know who will be ranked up at the third position. Rather than betting on super eagle to win,why don't you bet on over 1.5 so that you stake can be less risky because I don't know if the super eagle is willing to play to their best this time.

I think you meant Nigeria will be fighting for 3rd place in the match against Egypt. Well even though it's not what we wanted and I know it's not what the team wanted as well, they would have preferred to be in the finals fighting for 1st place and not here fighting for 3rd place but it is what it is, so I still think the super eagles will try to win Egypt, after all it's not just about being 3rd now, it's about winning Egypt who have dominated the African football and are still very much the team with the most trophy of the AFCON, so for me, it's more than just the 3rd place finish.

And since Nigeria lost its game against Morocco, a lot of people have lost interest in whatever is remaining, and the aura was lost, and the way the referee was nothing helped matters discourage a lot of people, so whatever they play today does not concern them, unlike when the goal was to win the AFCON. And they have gone for the second half, and there are still no goals yet, even the players have lost there moltivation, and their third place is not what we wanted. Even if Nigeria loses to Egypt i don't. But at the end of the day, a winner will have to emerge because someone has to take the position of third place, and it is a good option for the Super Eagles to consider, and even if they lose, it is understandable, sincerely.

It means that Nigeria is settling for something low instead of something big. Is it a big crime for these set of players in the Super Eagles to win AFCON for once. We did better in the previous one so why would third place be our target. I will not watch the match because it's not something to be proud of.

Honestly we are not all proud of this because our mind was on the position for the trophy, our coach should have skipped Chukweze from the penalty players because he was unserious on the penalty, no point in target, not strength on the ball, Nigerians was very happy of the penalty miss by Igamane because it will give eagles the rare chance but just right after Igamane the next super eagle that went next was the unserious player of the season and he restored hope to the Moroccan instead for having equal lost. The third place is not also certain for super eagles because our Captain might not play as well as bassey plus how uncommon the players will take it.

For me, I think they tried their best because Morocco is not an easy team. For the game to end in a penalty shootout, I must say the Super Eagles tried their best, but one thing you must know is that penalties can be unpredictable and not always certain.

There are world-class footballers, but sometimes they also miss penalties. One thing I noticed about some of our players is that they were under serious tension in that game, and it affected them badly. One thing we also need to know is that there is a significant advantage in home games, and that's an advantage for Morocco.

The super eagles of Nigeria did not play against Morocco but against CAF, and they tried their best to even hold Morocco throughout 90 minutes and extra 30 minutes without Morocco scoring a goal to beat the super eagles of Nigeria at normal time. I think people are not proud of the result of the super eagles of Nigeria against Morocco because they want the super eagles to win the Afcon tournament, but with time everyone will move on. Chukwueze was so relaxed when he was playing the penalty, and it made him to place the ball in the hand of Morocco's goalie.

I believe there is still hope for Nigeria that they would make it to the next World Cup based on their performance in this ongoing AFCON but I hope that CAF would try and improve on the refereeing and match officials so as not to make some nations to have a wrong perception about African football.

A big congratulations to the Super Eagles of Nigeria as we emerge third in the current AFCON games this season, and this achievement is a testament to the hard work of our dear goalkeeper Nwabali for his exceptional performance of serving a whooping 2 goals from Egypt during the penalty kicks from Muhammad Salai and Omar Marmoush, and also our excellent players in the likes of Akor Adams, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman for struggling so hard to ensure scoring the penalty kicks against Egypt tonight, because if they hard missed their kicks tonight and emerging 4th, I would have been the most sad person tonight, and likewise millions other Nigerians. And as such, I'm very much happy and satisfied with the outcome or tonight's game, because it is clear that the Super Eagles did played their best today, despite the coach bee biased and disallowing their 2 goals. I'm super happy for the Super Eagles. Just like the hero of the day, Stanley Nwabali said, ",this wasn't were they were expected to finish but this isn't a bad finish as well". It was a very good performance for the Super Eagles but the mentality of the players during the penalty shootout really showed that they were eager to make up for their failure to reach the final. I'm still surprised why Nwabali haven't been signed by an European team, such a great goalkeeper

I don't know if there is any consolation for the position of third place or something atleast they can use it as compensation for the semi finals that they lost to morroco. Nigeria is one of the best teams in this tournament and if anything I would have loved them to actually progress till the final and maybe they can have a chance against Senegal which is another deadly team and are the favorite for me to even win this AFCON and that's not because am from Nigeria so am supporting them to win, No it's because they are a very good team defense wise and body build up too for midfield control.

The team is packed full with talents I predicted they were gonna win the Egyptians even with their second eleven but unfortunately it ended in a draw and was decided in penalties. So finally the Super Eagles had a victory from penalty and it’s unfortunate and sad that Mo Salah and Omar Marmoush who should have lifted the spirits of their country men were the ones who failed to score their penalty kicks. Another Trophyless AFCON for Mo Salah almost at the end of his career, I’m not sure he’ll play another AFCON.

Congratulations to the super eagles of Nigeria for finishing as third place in this year's Afcon. Even though the teams spirit were down due to their lose to Morocco in the semi finals, they were able to hold their own against Egypt as the once again ended in a goaless draw. The only good thing that I saw about this game concerning the super eagles were the way that they took the penalties after the initial miss Dele Bashiru they were able to play the penalties with aot of calm and confidence. One thing that I have seen from this tournament is that the super eagles needs to improve on their penalties taking because this has hunted us twice now . First it was against DRC in the world cup Qualifiers were we lost via penalties and in the semi finals against Morocco.

In the group stage, Nigeria beat Uganda 3-1, Egypt 3-2, and Tanzania 2-1. In the second round, Mozambique was defeated 4-0 and in the Quarterfinals Algeria was beaten 2-0. It was just these two last games that Nigeria played a goaless draws.

It was a good game today and I am glad we had a medal in this competition. Coach Eric Chelle is the man for the coaching job of the Super Eagles. I think he has improved tactically in the course of this event.

I’m kinda happy for the Super Eagles for winning the bronze medal in the Afcon
 I know this wasn’t the medal they were dreaming of, but at least they didn’t return home empty handed. Watching them play throughout the tournament, I could see how hard they tried in every match. They gave their best, and even though they didn’t get to the final, earning the third place medal is still something to be proud of. I feel proud of their effort, and I hope next time they can go all the way and bring home the gold. Kudos to them!

Yes, the third-place team receives a consolation prize because they are the Bronze Medalist and receives a significant reward. I think the fourth place also receives a prize as well. It is better that Nigeria won the third place than not winning anything after the outstanding performance in the AFCON matches. Nigeria didn't lose any match in the AFCON matches so it's really a good result that will ignite their morale in future competitions. Nigeria should have been in the finals but some mistakes they made against Morocco match cost them reaching the finals but it's all good. The players were more organized in the penalty shootout today unlike the ones they played against Morocco. If they had taken penalties same way they did today, they would have been the side to reach the finals instead of Morocco. I also commend Nwabali for his efforts in saving penalties, he is a good goalie.

I didn’t even disturb myself to watch the match, and I know most people won’t even disturb themselves watching the match. we wanted the super eagles to get to the final of the AFCON and win the AFCON, but they were disqualified by Morocco, people don’t really care about the 3rd position, what everyone cares about if the country that wins the AFCON. Yes I am kind of happy for the Eagles with their performance today they stood their ground and made sure they didn't make their fans feel bad for the second time in a roll. Battling it out with the big teams in the tournament and didn't lose any match apart from the penalty loss is a great achievement. This is the best the Super Eagles outing I have seen them in years and winning the bronze is something. Am just glad that the penalty went out way this time.

I heard the super eagles played well today, they were able to defeat Egypt in a penalty shootout today. I didn’t even disturb myself to watch the match, and I know most people won’t even disturb themselves watching the match. we wanted the super eagles to get to the final of the AFCON and win the AFCON, but they were disqualified by Morocco, people don’t really care about the 3rd position, what everyone cares about if the country that wins the AFCON. How I wish the super eagles were able to get to the final of the AFCON.

They have learnt from their mistakes that led to their disqualification from the AFCON and also the World Cup qualifiers, so I’m expecting a changed super eagles in any competition they’re going to be playing in next. They have indeed played a nice game today also to clings the AFCON bronze title, they did well in my opinion. We wanted to go for the gold medal but along the line, even our players weren’t given in the all most deserving of this match.

Congratulations to the super eagles even though they disappointed by not reaching the finals, I hope they’re going to be better in the coming competitions because they’ve proven to be relentless and keep fighting for the top no matter the circumstances they may find themselves in. The finals is also going to be a tough one to watch. Senegal looks to be the better team for the title race but Morocco being the host nation also have the fans advantage in the stadium which will really make the game to probably be on the same level. I wish them all the best as they battle for the gold medal in this competition.

Why not pray that Morocco wins over Senegal, preferably(wink), at least we have both African countries as Africans, not Africa vs Europe finals that we will throw support to our African brothers. In this case, it's the Africa tournament, where the best team should win against the other. It could be Senegal or Morocco, whichever country that comes out victorious, we will accept them in good faith for making this AFCON tournament a memorable one for us to celebrate as a continent.

I am in anticipation of the final match because it will be a tough one to talk about, as both countries are having fantastic performances to not be easily won without having loggerheads
