Congratulations Nigeria! With the way Nigeria performed in the AFCON tournament, we deserve to go home with silverware, no matter if it’s a bronze. I think poetic that we won the bronze in a penalty shootout considering how we have fared in penalties in recent times.

The penalty kick was gotten right this time around, the likes of Lukeman, Iwobi and Moses were given opportunities to take penalty kicks unlike the last match that someone like Chukwueze who didn't play a minute to waste the efforts of 120 mins of others in the team.

I pray and hope Senegal wins the final tomorrow.

Why not pray that Morocco wins over Senegal, preferably(wink), at least we have both African countries as Africans, not Africa vs Europe finals that we will throw support to our African brothers. In this case, it's the Africa tournament, where the best team should win against the other. It could be Senegal or Morocco, whichever country that comes out victorious, we will accept them in good faith for making this AFCON tournament a memorable one for us to celebrate as a continent.

I am in anticipation of the final match because it will be a tough one to talk about, as both countries are having fantastic performances to not be easily won without having loggerheads

Senegal still looks to be the better team in this game if they meet. I am talking based on their performance in the semifinals that they dominated the game against Egypt and had them fight for possession on that match. This AFCON has been an exciting one and the teams that have made it this far needs to be applauded for their great performances so far. Comparing the two semifinals features for Senegal and Morocco, it is undeniable that Senegal had the better record and going by this, they stand at a very good advantage to prevail over Morocco in the finals even if they’re the host nation and will be favoured more by their fans in the stadium.

I am watching the African Cup of Nations third place game between Egypt and Nigeria. I won't watch the second half of the match because the Super Eagles are playing without some of their key players, and because of that, the match isn't interesting to watch. Egypt is dominating the Super Eagles in terms of ball possession, while the Super Eagles have more chances than Egypt, and the Super Eagles scored a goal, but it was disallowed because of a foul committed by Onuachu.

I am also watching it and was not too disappointed with the performance of the Super Eagles. Even with the absence of some key players they are giving the Pharaohs. Nigeria have had two goals disallowed. The first disallowed goal was controversial. The second one was a clear offside. The second half is far better; the Super Eagles' attack is doing a good job. The removal of Victor Onunchu is bearing fruit, he was sluggish up front.

But let the truth be told, I'm not really impressed that after that spectacular performance and displays in the match against Algeria, the Super Eagles team couldn't score a goal to win either of the two games. Both games ended in a goalless draw and a penalty shootout. This shows that even if we had gotten to the final stage, we wouldn't also be getting a goal, and the last African Cup nation, we all got disappointed when we needed them to do the needful, and this tournament is the same.

Morocco where the better team on that day looking at it from my personal view, the super Eagles had been a dominating side right from the beginning of this competition, psychologically you could see that Nigeria could not bring out that dominance they've enjoyed because

Can we assume that Nigeria has been playing with team that don't have enough skill to prove to the super eagles that they can defend themselves on the pitch and that most be responsible for the few winnings we had.
This was the main reason why we could not qualify for the world cup. At least Nigeria took third position.

Congratulations to the Super Eagles on their victory for third place in the ongoing AFCON. They played very well from the beginning of the tournament to the finish, but the ref in the previous match robbed them of their chances, and the fact that the coach brought players whom he should not have lined up for the penalty shootout was a terrible mistake he made, and it cost us our victory over Morocco. But all the same, they have done well, and I hope to see them do excellently well at the next AFCON.

I heard the super eagles played well today, they were able to defeat Egypt in a penalty shootout today. I didn’t even disturb myself to watch the match, and I know most people won’t even disturb themselves watching the match. we wanted the super eagles to get to the final of the AFCON and win the AFCON, but they were disqualified by Morocco, people don’t really care about the 3rd position, what everyone cares about if the country that wins the AFCON. How I wish the super eagles were able to get to the final of the AFCON.

A lot of people were still interested in the game and watched it live. It's obvious people were pissed off as the super eagles didn't go on to the finals but I'm pretty sure those supporters who are pissed would gladly appreciate and take the third place spot than losing out entirely and going back home with nothing.
It was a good game and I had hoped the match wouldn't go on to penalties as i feared a repeat of what happened that got Nigeria out of the race for the title. But the super eagles managed to win in the penalty shootout and claim the 3rd spot in the tournament. While we didn't get what we hoped for in the tournament, I'm glad we didn't lose out to Egypt and come back with nothing.

The players really tried and they impressed everyone for getting the silver medal because so many people gave up on them after the semifinal game which to me was normal because football is a game, and it’s either you win or you lose, and from the players performance, they did really well to be able to reach the semifinals and they have now showed the world that they deserve medal in the tournament and they got it.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria concluded their AFCON matches today after they defeated Egypt on penalty shootout to win the third place and become the bronze medalists. Congratulations to them anyways, they tried despite they didn't reach final. I took a time to reflect on the players that are the highlight of the Super Eagles in this tournament and i have on my list players like Alex Iwobi, Akor Adams, Calvin Bassey and Ademola Lookman. These players played with everything in them but it's sad that they didn't make it to the finals. Despite the enthusiasm of Victor Osimhen, i didn't rate him at all because at the initial stage of the competition he was doing a good job but later got distracted and began to behave in some kind of way. But over all, my number one highlight of the Super Eagles was Alex Iwobi because he played professionally and with confidence from the beginning till the end. Maybe he tried to prevent bullying as they did bully him in the previous AFCON tournament so he came prepared this time around. Who is/are your highlight from the Super Eagles squad in this AFCON?

Indeed we need to give them their flowers for their commendable performance all through the AFCON season.  
With the happening on the 14th allot of people taught they wouldn't have the interest and zeal to give their best but they still proved a good work.  
I know of lots of people that didn't have much interest to watch the match. A few started watching and stopped halfway.  But the end proved another point that the boys are still the great SUPER EAGLES and they're still flying.

A win is a win. They lost against Morocco because they were the worse of the two teams (on Wednesday) but showed some courage today and those penalties kicks were much better than the one we had against Morocco. It's also worth mentioning that other teams like Senegal and even Morocco performed at a level similar to ours even though we had more goals than any other team.

I no longer play football but I do play video game like FC (previously Fifa) and even though I'm good at it, there are days or moments that I'm terrible and play absolute rubbish.. I'm not happy about our loss to Morocco but you can't win all the time.

The goals came at penalty but then the joy of the victory is as if the game goals way scored during the tough play time, 4:2 is somewhat an achievement that the supper eagles should be commended for at least the goal keeper did an excellent job this night and he made everyone day with his performance to score more balls from entry the net.

To me, morroco didn't really play well in that game...saying this because if the super eagles were good enough morroco would not even be able to compete with them....chuckwu eze was selected to play the penalty kick this means that he was trusted to do that based on his experience but he decided to pass the ball to their goal keeper. I believe their manager is going to use this as wake up call for next season

Morroco was frankly playing defensive and that is what help them to make it very hard for the super eagle to score.
The match was tough and it was not easy for the both team to score themselves allowing the match to end up in a draw.
If not for the penalty, Nigeria would have won the match but all thanks to their efforts.

Morocco would have lose to super eagle if the have come out and play to score. My prediction that day was that Nigeria will score even if they will lose the match. It was a surprise that they end up with a scoreless draw. Luck wasn't on our side in the penalty shootout even though they were the first to lose their penalty.

Well, you have some point here. We really expect more than this from them. They really fuck up in the aspect of world cup qualifier. But we need to commend their efforts in this AFCON. They really tried. If they never come home with any cup, what will we do? So, let still congratulate them for the little they did.

Why are you hating on the Super Eagles? I have noticed your constant hate words on the Super Eagles throughout this ACON.

I know the bronze medal is not what we actually came to Morocco to get, but coming out in third place shows the level of consistency of the Super Eagles. Last AFCON, we came out second, and this time third. I believe next time we will win it. Football is not as easy as you think. And when it comes down to penalties, it becomes a thing of luck.

So Nigeria have this kind of superb PK takers? The fault is from Eric Chelle, why didn't he appoint them to play the PK on Wednesday, when they played against Morrocco.. I think if it was so Nigeria wouldn't have lost to Morocco... Overall the both teams played very well in both their front and back, but then I think Egyptian defense was more weaker than that if Nigeria and assuming the Nigeria striker was able to capitalize more on it, there would have been goals(apart from the canceled goal) , without even needing a Penalty Shootout.....I really loved how Ademola Lookman took the last PK, it was a bomb that was well placed and I think that Samuel Chukwueze really need to learn from that..

I am disappointed with them as well, I know they messed up big time for not qualifying for the world cup again but that shouldn't be a reason to not compliment a good performance. They have tried and improved in the AFCON even  though it's not the best they can do but compared to past performances I think they have done well in this competition even though it's unfortunate that they couldn't reach the final they still did well and it doesn't mean I am happy that they failed to qualify for the world cup. It's not easy to play football games as we see it, I know they should be doing better but we should still appreciate them for giving their best. Being the 3rd place team is not that bad but they should do better next time.

I definitely do not think that this players you listed were not actually giving chance to take penalty because to me they were the three senior players in the team but on to difficult penalty shoot out I see them shying away from playing because none of them wants to take the fall if things go wrong. Someone will say I will actually know this I will say from their pressure before taking their respective penalties today you know the fear on them most especially Alex Iwobi as they scared the fans will lynch on them if they lose it which is bad in my opinion.

As for Chukwueze stepping up no one can make be believe that he hasn’t done well in taking penalties before he was brought in, I personally do not like players been brought into matches for just penalties because it usually do not end well and that’s what happened yet again. I am not mad about why Chukwueze missed the spot kick but nonchalant he stepped up for it

Despite the defeat against the super eagles, I think the Egyptian team showed a great performance in such an enthousiast match despite watchers in the stadium weren't that enthousiasm. Egypt was about to score a goal two times during first half and it can be said that Egypt proved to have a strong defensive strategy that stopped the super eagles from reaching the goal zone. However, it should focus on attack strategies for next tournaments.
