Which is 2 goals margin can make them to win. If Nigeria beat Egypt which is possible, Zambia is needed to win Malawi with good margin for the two teams to qualify. Now the major matches to qualify is the Nigeria, Zambia and Malawi and Egypt has been rollout but this is only if Nigeria wins them.

We've never had a start like this where we have to depend on other teams results to qualify - how did we lose to Malawi with such a goal margin in an opening game; I didn't see the game but from what I read it was a pure disaster from our girls. Anyone know the odds on Nigeria to qualify from the group? Should be around x2 or more. I'll check.

Mitchelle Alozie was reportedly tested for doping after winning woman of the match in the game against Zambia. I think it’s absurd to assume that a player isn’t on performance enhancers just because they had a good game. I wonder what was so unnatural about her performance that made them single her out for doping.

This is one of the reasons why I think the CAF president should vacate that position, since he took over as president of the region's football governing body there has less or no tangible reforms that the organisation could boast of and I stand to be corrected, and now asking a player to go a dope test due to her performance in a match could be the height of disregard anyone can show to a player's hardwork, it's quite demeaning and I think they should tender an apology to the player and her country.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. This is nothing new. Dope tests are carried out by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). They collaborate with FIFA and other football bodies like UEFA and CAF. They pick players at random to take doping tests. They've done it to Ronaldo, Messi and other big names in football. It not new to pick players at random, or by how they perform, or by whatever metric they use to pick players for doping test. And it's certainly not the the CAF president's doing.

The CAF president has been shit, but not everything is a disrecpect or whatever it is you're implying. There is no need for an aopology. This is part of the game. Most players at the top have been picked out for random dope test.

I have watch more than four matches from different countries and some of there players even perform more than Mitchelle Alozie and nobody suspected them of doping because they took it as a natural performance but it has come to Nigeria they didn't want to see it the same way as those players from different countries, perhaps they have been feeling that some of the Nigerian women players use to take some substance before going to the pitch that's why they have decided to use this opportunity for the doping test on itchelle Alozie, well is also another way for them to prove the tournament wrong that it was by performance they have been getting all the victory.

Too many old player's resurfacing every tournament and the coach seems not to be bothered about it. It is fine that they are good players but there should be a mix of both the old and new giving room for the new t experience and learn from the old and experienced players. It's high time madugu reshuffles the female team and bring in new players that are vibrant and ready to deliver. These set's of players have all gone far and wide and they should be able to allow the younger generation take position so they could carry on with the already existing legacy the Falcons has established.

Nigeria team wins first ever win in 2026 Women's African Cup of Nations League and I think their win against Zambia today was very important. It is true that if Nigeria's Demehin had not been shown a red card in the 40th minute, the reigning champions might have been able to win more against Zambia, however we think that Nigeria played very well against Zambia in this match so they will probably face Egypt in the upcoming match i.e. Group C match of the WAFCON tournament. It seems to me Nigeria must win against Egypt in the upcoming match to properly compete against Malawi because Malawi is already on top of this group with two consecutive wins.

I was thrilled that Nigeria at least won the Women's African Cup, and the women are doing better than the Super Eagles because they at least brought something home compared to the men. Zambia also performed well, but the problem is that anything could have happened because I don't trust 1:0 because if the opponent is able to equalize, there will be a problem, and the girls made us proud. And when it comes to them I don't think even Egypt will be able to stop them and after Malawi then Nigeria is the one following in there group c and they are leading with six points but am sure that that will now stop us because our female players are just the best because they are always committed when it comes to things like this.

Scammed away with an undeserved win?? You do realise that Nigeria was given a red card in the first card, right? It’s either you’re disregarding the other  teams in the tournament or you’re overestimating the Super Falcons. Like I said in my previous post, Super Falcons are a victim of their own success because our expectations of the team is so high so much so that winning a crucial match with one player down means nothing to the fans.

I believe the oldest player in the team is the goalie yet she was able to keep a clean sheet against Zambia. Age is not the problem with this team, they are doing great imo. They just need our support and less criticism to succeed in the group stage.

The outcome of the first leg against Malawi was what made the girls to find themselves in a situation where they are depending on the outcome of other match in the group to determine whether they will qualify or not. That match against Malawi was a shocker considering that the Super Falcons were given the favorite odd but they disappointed totally.

Yes, the Super Falcons can win Egypt because Egypt is not a strong team, they lost 6:0 in their first match and lost 1:3 in their second match so they can't stand the Super Falcons.

All the same, while we are waiting for their result, the Super Falcons should also make sure that their match against Egypt doesn't turnout like their match against Malawi.

I don’t understand why you all like to play the victim cards always, there is a doping test always, even in other matches there might have been some unannounced doping test but this was actually in the news because Nigerians brought it out, in men football it’s also common after the player has coveted exceptional grounds that they have not covered before and it used to be a thing of even celebration then because the player was so exceptional that they didn’t think she was in her human form. Stop the victim card mentality.

We are second actually because head to head is the first criteria before goal difference against two teams, we are currently ahead of Zambia because of the head to head, the last game against Egypt, Nigeria Just needs to win with any margin and they qualify to the next stage even if Zambia win against Malawi

I've never seen the Super Falcons struggle like they're doing in this particular competition and it's something to be worried about, it's either the selection of the coach is wrong or there's disunity in their camp, if they could struggle against Malawi how would they cope against Morocco if they meet along the line.

I'm worried about the match with Egypt, they might have suprised me with beating Zambia with 10 players but it's not convincing that they'll do better in the competition, if they can comfortably beat Egypt with struggle maybe my hope for them reclaiming the trophy would be revived.

If feel disappointed seeing Malawi on the top of the table while The Super Falcons are hoping on winning Egypt and Zambia losing to Malawi so they'll qualify, something is definitely wrong somewhere.

I don't agree with you that Nigeria is struggling because they only lost one match and won one. Nigeria will be the favourite against Egypt while Malawi has been ahead in this group which means that they will win Zambia then Nigeria will have 6 points and stand in the second position. The only way that Nigeria will be eliminated is when Zambia wins Malawi since they scored more goals, they will be ahead of Nigeria. The possibility of Nigeria reaching the next round will be known after Malawi versus Zambia match. Honestly, the performance of the Super Falcons has decreased unlike last CAF AWC when Nigeria won against Morocco after a dramatic comeback.

The Nigerian team has had a better performance than the Egyptian team in this tournament, the Egyptians has scored just one goal and conceded 9 goals in two matches while the Super Falcons has scored 3 goals and conceded 3 also, I know that both teams are struggling but since the Egyptians has no chance of qualifying because they had already lost their first two matches it will be an advantage for the Super Falcons to defeat them so they can finish second on the table to qualify from the group stage. The super Falcons struggled in their last 1:0 win but they need to score plenty goals against the Egyptians if they succeed in doing that they will stand a chance to qualify.

I believe we can win Egypt comfortably, the girls were just stunned in the first game, I don’t know what happened but they didn’t come out ready. They allowed the Malawians too much chance.

Zambia was the biggest threat to us in that group but with luck we won them even with a man down (woman in this case). Egypt will be a walk over, we just have to pray the other result tilt in our favor. A possible draw will be the best result for us.

lol it’s not people, it’s CAF. I understand it’s partly my fault for triggering the conversation, however, Igebotz and snipie have already explained why that happened. Osimhen was also subjected to a doping test in the last AFCON. It seems that these checks are random and done to protect the integrity of the sport. It is not targeted at the girls.

 A body of important people, nonetheless. Anyways, I get it though. Michelle played and at some point she became so fatigued she made a mistake that should have cost her teammates. Even against Malawi, their game was not very great to me, although they improved. They narrowly escaped Malawi and that is the truth, they should only anticipate at least a draw between Zambia and Malawi to have a good chance, If Malawi wins, their chances would be slimmer. About Egypt, they're weaker but they might be interested in making an impression before crashing out of the group and there's no better time to make such than their match against Nigeria, so it may not be as easy as it seems

We would only be sure After 90 minutes, there's no certainty in the results. Defending the title is not a guarantee to even scale through group matches. Spain won the 2010 world cup , but could not make it past the group stage of the next one despite being the defending champions.

When a coach is satisfied with what they always get at every WAFCON to introduce new players always become difficult for them and they wouldn't believe that it will help them, although I think it was on the goalkeeper aspects the coach did something because is like they added Comfort Erhabor and Fatima Oloko as there new goalkeepers this year and that was good but they should have also do something on there attacking midfielder because is weak. The team cannot be reshuffle now but definitely after this tournament there would be some work to be done on the club because this squad might not win WAFCON next year.
