I didn't expect the Super Eagles to perform like this in the African Cup of Nations, so I must say that the performance of the Super Eagles has been impressive, and the Super Eagles team looks quite different in the African Cup of Nations, and they have a good scoring rate, which is a good advantage for the Super Eagles because it can help them out score their opponents and win the African Cup of Nations.

The only game I game them award is this last game. Their performance was impressive but that was not a strong team in the tournament when we talk about African Football. Mozambique is just an upcoming Nation in the African Football. We will know who is who in this quarter final of the tournament. This were the results in the knockout stage.


The game I loved the most was the one Morocco vs Tanzania. I was not thinking that Tanzania would play to that level. They faced Morocco and it was at the die minutes that Morocco scored the goal.

Another problem we have in Nigerian football is the NFF. Sometimes i also attribute the problem of the team to come from the NFF because how can they owe the Super Eagles bonuses for the 4 games they have played so far in the AFCON. This issue keeps on happening in almost every game that the Super Eagles plays. It is really shameful to call out the NFF over unpaid allowances and bonuses all the time, they should do better and avoid anything that will kill the morale of players in the ongoing AFCON competition.

As I said, Super Eagles this last game was great one and if they play like that with any team, they will win. Wishing them good wins ahead.

Osimhen's attitude is getting out of hand, regardless of what your teammates might have done to you on the pitch, you should wait till after the match to complain whatever you have in mind, I heard rumors that he has asked to leave the camp in the middle of a competition. Osimhen's should conduct himself in a manner that shows that he is a professional, he had almost the same similar fall out with Finidi George, the federation looked the other way, allowing it slide.

The issues has been resolved, according to the team administrator 'Dayo Enebi' the boys are in order now, however, Osihmen's behavior should be cautioned on a strict warning of being penalize if a thing like this happens again. He shouldn't be allowed to normalize a terrible habit, else he'd embarrass the nation again on other international meetings.

Due to my busy schedule, I was unable to watch the Nigeria versus Mozambique match but the outcome was impressive. Although Mozambique is not considered a footballing nation so Nigeria was supposed to beat them with more than five goals in order to give the reassurance that they are fit to lift this year's AFCON.

As for Victor osimhen's behavior, I did not watch the match and I eventually started hearing about his hash behavior towards his teammates. Even though it was so obvious that his team mates refused to pass in ball at some point, it doesn't mean that he should flame up in such a manner. I didn't watch the match but I heard that VeryDarkMan discuss it. According to him, the players aren't Osimhen's kids.

I watched the highlights of the Nigeria vs Mozambique game. I was so impressed and happy how the super eagles of Nigeria calmed the game and won Mozambique easily. The game was the super eagles' best game in the Afcon tournament because they did not concede a goal in the game. The super eagles' current performance in the Afcon tournament is enough for the super eagles fans to believe that the super eagles of Nigeria can lift this year's Afcon, and they do not need to beat Mozambique with more than 5 goals to show that they can lift this year's Afcon.

I feel that the if there is any word that can be awarded to the super eagles for the job well done, now I feel they brought back the spirit of football game to Nigeria which we all can say for free that the super eagles are making us proud out there, like that yesterday game had cut me on because I was wanting to see more goals  In bar net, honestly speaking such a game was really competitive and was kinda of nice to watch that yesterday and the sweetie part all my stake game that yesterday so I was really overwhelmed to see the super eagles become super strong.

That's why in many occasions, I don't fully blamed the Super Eagles for their poor performance without putting on the blames on the NFF for the cause of Super Eagles downplay.

Currently, we have seen the Super Eagles performed in the way we never imagined, the NFF wants to spoil all that for us. Why does the NFF keep repeating this rubbish attitude towards these players? Do they not know the players also have families to cater for, or they think, as they are super rich, that they would withhold their bonuses with no tangible reasons? It does not work that way. These are the little things that speak of volume to the players, these things motivate them to put in efforts to make sure they play their best fr their nation. They started this tournament on a good note now their bonuses are withheld just like that. How do they get motivated? This was what they did during the World Cup qualifiers, and now again it is repeating itself.

Is it not better to close this NFF of a body and let the federal ministry of sports take charge of our football activities directly, rather than us hearing all this dirty nonsense from NFF all the time.

I was thinking it was after the tournament that NFF will pay their match bonuses, is it during the competition because am surprised reading this News coming up at the peak of the tournament. Although given the antecedence of the NFF, the super Eagles are matching up with the energy the NFF usually bring, asking for what is due them at middle of the competition, else After now they won't be paid. We cannot continue like this as a federation.

Well from what I saw yesterday that was really not a full squad I felt most of them didn’t even show up to play the AFCON well i was asking me self this question now that it was not a full squad how would even be if the full squad shows up, well I feel the super eagles are just to good, this past few week they have really made everyone proud and people can now boost their confidence at them to win the game, well now I have learn that the game of football is nevertheless by giving up….

The Nigerian team is threatening to not travel to Marrakech to face the Algerian team but also to not train until the NFF paid them their bonuses because they know how things are done in Africa in general.
I obviously understand that this isn't the best moment to claim the money but it's their rights to say that out loud because it is easy to see the NFF not paying them at all and blaming them for not being patriotic and so on from these words.
If you promised something to someone, you have to honour your words.

Understand the coach made a huge impact in the way the Super Eagles play. Now they have been victorious in so many ways we should all give accolades to him for his effort. When Finidi was the coach, the Super Eagles were underperforming, I will blame him more to the reason why we did not make it to the World Cup. Nigeria should have been the best African team to play in the 2026 World Cup. The way we play now, is world class performance. Don't forget that most of our players are British players, playing in most league in Europe.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to watch that game (nor any other game for the next few weeks, am afraid). Tell you what, 4 goals against any team at this stage -- and Mozambique aren't pushovers either -- is a good game.

Most of the top posters in this thread are Nigerians and I’m afraid their attention mostly goes to posts that has keywords like Super Eagles, Nigeria, and Osimhen in it. I think a lot of people in this thread would disagree with you, they seem to believe that Mozambique is a weak side and an easy win for Nigeria.

Regarding your original question, Nigeria will play Algeria in the quarter finals on Saturday. This is going to be a tough match, but I trust Nigeria to win the game. We are the best team in the tournament so far.

Yes there improvement calls for accolades, dominating in all areas including the midfield, attack and defence making it difficult to concede goals in there games. Before the African cup of nations tournament started, all doubted the super eagles consistency because of the humiliating results they got in the world cup qualifies and even believe they will be eliminated in the group stage but all thanks to the current coach for revamping there technique and giving giving them hope for dominance in the present tournament, which i know if the could continue with same spirit i think they can lift the trophy

I am among the many Nigerians who would have wanted DR Congo to progress so that they could face the Super Eagles again. That would have been a good game to have our revenge on them for hindering us from qualifying for the World Cup.

This was the same situation that led to the resignation of Troost Ekong. Why must this situation repeat everytime. Come to think of this, if such an incident keep happening to the famous super Eagles, just imagine what happens to other athletes of lower division without voices and influences.
Nigerian government are shameless, they keep exposing themselves before the international and they expect that they should be taken seriously? These type of obvious corruption is the reason why Nigerian referees aren't found even in the AFCON. We are just ceremonial giants of Africa. It baffles me that this our NFF are just too shameless to the extent that in every tournament our super eagles participated in, their will always be a problem of lack of payment of bonuses, for a country like Nigeria that is very rich, like how shameless can our NFF be?

This was the exact issue that makes them painted Lyon balogun as the bad guy, and in our last world cup qualifying games they painted our captain trust ekong the black sheep because he rallied the team to ask for their unpaid bonuses that has been held for years, this is why I am of the opinion that everyone in this our presence NFF should be flush out because they are playing politics with our football, how incompetent can they be before something is done about it?

The Super Eagles were right to have demanded for their bonuses before travelling to Algeria because it is not fair that they have leave their clubs behind to play for Nigeria in this tournament only for the NFF to start withhold their bonus. By right there bonuses should be paid on time,it will motivate the Super Eagles to face Algeria. The governments through the NFF should pay out those bonuses so the eagles can play confidently against Algeria.
