Then we had a working NFF, and we've never had that again for long now.

Corruption is eating this people and they don't care again about their responsibility as a government body set to seek for the affairs of football and players wellbeing. If the government can hold these people accountable of what they are doing with the money that is being allocated to them, this would save money for the Nigerian government and bring them to book.

This same energy could have been diverted to the world cup qualifying stage and this could have helped Nigeria as a country to qualify for the world. The failure of the Nigerian football federation to take Nigeria to the world cup should attracted penalty for the members of the NFF so that they would treat the players better and pay them their salaries without owing them a dime.

Yeah, I totally agree. If the same energy being displayed now could have been used in the world cup qualifiers, perhaps Nigeria would have qualified for the tournament. It's quite pitiful that Nigeria couldn't qualify and like you noted, the NFF has a huge role in that aspect and sadly, they goofed.
It's crazy and quite embarrassing when players come out to complain about something the NFF should have handled and likely neglected. They should make it a priority to give the players what's due to them and also what they need when needed. We've got really good players. Players that are sometimes, not so motivated to play due to the failures of mainly the country's football federation.

I know everyone would say am talking bullshit for this statement am about to make but for me Nigeria qualifying or not doesn't really hold anything important because I think even if they actually qualified they would have been knocked out of the competition probably during the group stages level so what's the point 😂. Although they have done well in this AFCON but haven't really met a big side and Algeria will be their first big test so let's see how it goes against Algeria if they can put up the same performance.

The game has started and it is almost halftime and Morocco are leading with one goal against Cameroon. The match which we all thought is going to be very tough, looks to be one sided and in favor of Morocco. This is still the first half and maybe the second half will be more interesting than this and we will get to see a better performance by Cameroon. If an equalizer will be coming from Cameroon in the early minutes of the second half, then we will have a more interesting second half than the first half. Both teams are strong but on paper, morocco is more stronger and has the more tendency for victory in this game. Although, a one goal lead is not enough to say they’ll win the match, let’s see what happens in the second half.

I thought Cameroon would do well in this game to qualify in the next stage of the tournament but irony was seen from the Cameroon side of the game. It was at the ending time of the game that Cameroon was coming up. They were playing defensive game and Morocco was playing attacking game. Morocco played far better than the game with Tanzania. They played a standard game this evening. I was thinking that Cameroon would equalized the game in the second half but they became afraid to conceive another goal again so with fear they played defensive game yet second goal was scored. Goodbye to Cameroon from the tournament. Another two teams will go home. Egypt will go home and Algeria will quit the tournament. Tomorrow will be an interesting day in this thread.

Congratulations to Senegal for making it this far in the Afcon from the beginning of this tournament Senegal were seen as one of the team that will win this cup , so am not particularly surprised about the way that Senegal has been able to reach in this competition.they are one match away from the finals let see which team that they will play in the semifinals of this competition.


I think that Mali were affected by the red card that they received. But generally looking at the performance of Mali in this competition I will say that they gave a very good account of themselves, especially in the last game against Tunisia. Mali should go home and build for the next nations cup.

How do you think that the government will hold them accountable when they're an accomplices of the irregularities in the Nigeria Football Federation. Most of the people in the NFF that are allegedly embezzling the funds of the organisation are people who are strongly backed by men in the government of the day. The NFF is poorly managed by people of no competence and inasmuch as they remain there, we'll continue to experience embarrassing policies and management style.

The leaders of the NFF and other bodies regulating and controlling the affairs of the football and spit in Nigeria are selfish, they are not after the dignity of the country, they are only on after what they will have in return which is why they are delaying the players, and if the players didn’t play well, they blame the entire team and the coach for not winning games meanwhile the management isn’t given the players the enough and proper care to encourage them to play for the nation.

The first quarter finals game in the ongoing CAF African Cup Of Nations is currently in the 95th minute with two more minutes to go. It's between Mali Vs Senegal and at the moment, Mali is trailing by a goal to nil. If it ends like this, Senegal will qualify to the semi finals of the competition while the Malians will be going home. From what I'm seeing here, Senegal are surely gonna win this one. Despite leading, they're still the team that's been pressing for more goals. It's been a very tight game and a quarter-final-worthy match. The referee will soon sound the final whistle.

Senegal won the game with 1-0. I was thinking that Mali would won or draw the match and won the game in penalty shootout. But Senegal protected their goal from the first half till the end of the game. If Cameroon wins Morocco, then the AFCON will become an unpredicted tournament. As I have said, this is where we will know the strong teams from the lucky teams from the group stage. Morocco last game was not encouraging. I was expecting Morocco to win that game with good scores and not just only one goal and struggled to end the Match. Cameroon is not a weak team so they have to increase their tactics to win them. 8:00pm is the time.

Mali could have given Senegal more of a fight perhaps even equalised or played out as you expected but that red card to their key player Yves Bissouma was their doomsday, they still tried to play Senegal and stop them from Scoring more goals.
Morocco and Brahim Diaz has taken this competition very personal, he’s using this tournament to announce himself to the African Football World on home soil.
The Cameroonians have really tried for a team that was picked just before the AfCON and majority of them are unknown to us in the football world.
This Tournament is not giving us any surprises, just the usual suspects coming out ontop.

Senegal victory wasn't surprising. Their team is way better than Mali. They scored a goal in the first half then they couldn't add another one although facing a team with 10 players after the red card at the end of the first half.
In the other match, Morocco proved to be one of the best teams by defeating Cameroon with two goals, one on each half time. Cameroon attack line wasn't effective at all.
Tomorrow, the remaining games will be played and it will be harder than those played today for sure. Nigeria looks favourite but Algeria is good. Same goes for Egypt and Ivory Coast.

How can you even think that Mali would have won Senegal, do you really know who Senegal is? How can you even say that Mali is formidable in this AFCON, a team that played draw in all their last 4 games and managed to win Tunisia on penalties? Even without the red card Mali wouldn't have won Senegal because when i was watching the game i saw the much pressure from the Senegal players and i think that due to how energetic they were made them to become somehow aggressive because they had a lot of bookings by the referee up to 5 yellow cards. Even in the overall statistics Senegal was better and the goal they scored even came before Mali was given a red card so if Senegal had scored another goal i would have said that the red card affected their gameplay so much. Besides Mali is fond of getting a red card because in all their last 3 games including this game against Senegal, they got red card in each of the matches, very bad record.

I think Brahim Diaz is playing on another level in this tournament. That dude is on a goal-scoring streak, 5 goals in 5 games. The guy might just be a potential African best player if care is not taken. Morocco is not slowing down, and if they scale through to the finals, then they will just win the tournament because they have that home advantage of a large crowd cheering behind them. They gave Cameroon no chance to even settle in the game.

Now that would look like an accusation but the actual truth was that the game was heavily rigged in Morocco's favor. Who else noticed the hosts have not moved from the Rabat stadium since the tournament started, or am I wrong? Look at it, if they keep playing in one stadium, there's every chance of them getting accustomed to the place and having a sort of advantage but if they move out, Morocco may lose balance. To be very honest with you, I did not watch the match between Morocco and Cameroon but I saw in the social media we are someone was bitterly complaining that cameroonians were obviously robbed in that match. After reading that accusation, I quickly rushed into the forum in order to confirm the acquisition. Surprisingly, on arriving here the first thing I saw was someone complaining that the Cameroonians were robbed.
It is a very big shame to African football that at this stage of football and digitalization, there is still obvious robbing that even the layman would understand
Africa should grow up and allow the sweet football flow naturally.

I think president Goodluck Jonathan also supported the super eagles and there was a time he wanted to interfere in the super eagles camp when he suspended the NFF president because of embezzlement and FIFA president threatened to ban Nigeria from all its events if the Nigerian president interfere in football, that was how the president removed his hand. I remember a bit of what I read back then, that's why I think he too had good plains for the national team.

Cameroon was very poor in that encounter, why I said that is because they only went there to show physical strength, running and trying to bulldozer the Morocco players and we know how flexible they are and also tricky, that's how they gained control on that midfield and every part of the game. Imagine the Cameroon with Vincent Aboubakar, it would have been a problem for the host nation because this guy doesn't have any time to rest, always running making defenders to feel his presence but take a good look at the sets of players that was invited, their striker was off color and it made the Morocco defense to look very special. If you ask me I'd say the host hasn't done anything convincing to make me see them as the favorite, tonight they were lucky to face a weak Cameroon side.

Morocco defence was too good for the Cameroonians, they didn't allow the Cameroon team any space. When the Cameroon players hold the ball they will rush them and disposses them immediately. The Morocco players were also playing rough and the referee wasn't helping at all. Had the referee been up and doing Morocco would have got at least one red card. I don't know if it was because Morocco is the host nation but the officiating of that match was very poor. Let it not be that CAF is just projecting Morocco to be the winner of this tournament as the host nation. Many people are already saying that, and from what I see today am beginning to have a rethink.

I have no doubt he's a good player, always liked his football at Madrid and he has won some of my bet slips sometimes when I bet on Madrid. The fact that he's good along with the fact that some of these defenders might not be aa difficult as the ones he's used to playing against in the la liga or the champions league. It could be why.

It's also the reason why he's at Madrid and not some mid team in a small league.

Although this Cameroonians have been known for their ability to Knock out host nations I think this is far from the Cameroon team we use to all fear, not discrediting the team but they were not a match for the Host Morocco. This star studded Morocco team is actually one which will require a fellow star studded team to be defeated. The Cameroonians have been defensive all this tournament while the Moroccans have been a team that loves to press a lot and that’s who the game went, I wasn’t expecting much better from this Cameroon side after their group stage performance because the quality to me is still lacking in the team.

Yes you’re right FIFA was using the card of no politics in football to actually chase Goodluck away from interfering but what I knew then was that they actually were doing to protect their friend who was then the president of NFF Amaju Pinick and after he left the role after compelete long tenure I think he got a role with FIFA which he is currently serving. Personally I don’t understand why they have decided to hoard players bonuses and yet also do not like the fact that the players themselves always like to pick moments like this to actually ask for their arrears or bonuses it usually mounts more pressure on them in my opinion but maybe this is the only time they can actually get them to pay up

If a hold regime can take over Nigeria, all those things we are seeing about the way government workers and politicians are spending money will definitely stop. I know that corruption is the main reason why all these are happening and it can stop in due time because people don't want the bad government to continue with their irregularities.

Congratulations to Morocco, they did wonder yesterday to defeated Cameroon 0-2 to make the stadium calm through out because they show some kind display that makes the match look Morocco have already win the match, I think Morocco government seen something that made them to come up of hosting this African cup of nations this season because Morocco players are very good, for Mali that lost against Senegal 0-1 show that Senegal took advantage of the red card to achieve victory from Mali yesterday, after the one goal Senegal couldn't score another goal to prove to people that they are stronger than Mali than to see them defending the one goal which they did till the end of the match 0-1.
