Since the beginning Morocco were one of the favorite teams (maybe THE favorite) and, until now, they've been doing very well, they barely conceded any goal and Brahim Diaz is on fire! If I recall correctly, until now, he scored in every single match of the competition. Very curious to see today's matches, I really don't know what to expect, it's difficult to choose a winner.

I was personally a little surprised to see Morocco score in the second half, where Morocco did not really dominate. And seeing Cameroon unable to score in the second half even though they dominated ball possession in the second half. Today's matches are Algeria vs Nigeria and Egypt vs Ivory Coast. As for the Algeria vs Nigeria match I personally cannot predict who will win. But I see something interesting, where some time ago Nigeria suffered a defeat against D.R. Congo. And Algeria recently defeated D.R. Congo. So I personally predict that Algeria will prevail over Nigeria. But it seems that both national teams will try their best. And it seems that they will be careful not to make tactical mistakes. As for Egypt vs Ivory Coast I personally really can't predict the outcome. However both of these matches are definitely not to be missed. I'm very curious to see the final results.

I can't deny that Morocco have been doing well since the start of this year afcon, but I am not going to take them at the best team or see them at the brightest team in the tournament because if you have watch the Nigerian and the Ivory Coast team, you are going to confirm that those two things are way stronger than this Morocco team or the rest.
I believe that the reason why Morocco were made the favourite from the start was because of the fact that they were the host nation, added with their performance in their last appearance at the world cup that they came out fourth, but in the afcon, we have traditional teams that always wins it, team like the rest of other teams that are left in the competition now. I don't see them winning this year afcon, even though they goes to the final, they might lose to the Ivory Coast or Nigerian national team because any of those two teams will be too strong for them to contain.
As for the games taking place today, I am confident in Nigeria beating Algeria and ivory Coast beating Egypt.

My own thought is that, giving the fact that corruption like this have been occurring in the NFF ON and OFF, what is stopping CAF and FIFA from giving the Nigerian football federation stringent cautioning, these two bodies are the strongest governing body when it comes to football especially in this part of the world. We've had situations before now that bonuses that were giving by CAF and FIFA not getting to the intended people yet this bodies haven't shown much strength in terms of Sanctions. I believe if this bodies show enough concern about what is happening with the way football is being run in Nigeria, things will definitely change.

FIFA doesn't have a jurisdiction on how a country manage there national team so even if they owe or didn't show up on the pitch I believe the only thing they can do is giving points to the country that came but when the NFF actions goes beyond Nigeria then that is were I understand FIFA would do something, i believe this is true because for how many years owing and non regarding of players started happening in super eagles and we have not seen anything or warning from them. Four big countries are in a quarter match today let the elimination to the semi finals proceed.

FIFA to an extent have some jurisdiction into the affairs of things happening in Nigerian football federation because they are the governing body worldwide, before now I can record some incidences that FIFA has sanction us does due to some discrepancy that has happened, however because of some setting issues that have happened before FIFA has in most cases in recent times requested to pay bonuses of players directly into the account of those players, a very recent case is the Nigerian super falcons.

Honestly it's going to be a tough match because both countries have had strong performances even from the group stages, and they both aim to qualify for the semi finals because they have the strength to take them there, which isn't possible because one of them must be eliminated.

Algeria is one of the strongest teams in AFCON because even their head to head record shows Algeria has kept a good record over Nigeria. So my expectation for Nigeria today is that they should put in effort and play to their best and win this game because it will be very embarrassing if they lose, especially as other African countries want them eliminated. But I'm confident Nigeria will make big things happen today and qualify.

Well, its very saddening when the super eagles come out to complain about their salaries and bonuses not being paid, and what's even more shameful to the whole football federation in the Nigeria is when one of the players offers to pay the other players all the money and bonuses they are owed if the government fails to do so, it's very disheartening that we want our boys to do very well yet the government sending them out there can't even take care of them.

I am happy that the issue has been resolved any way and that the super eagles will be showing up to battle it out tonight against Algeria, I honestly hope the boys will put aside their anger against the government and deliver a very good game tonight, not the government but for the Nigerian people, we are proud of what they've achieved so far, now isn't the time to turn back.

People who do expect FIFA to involve in the activities and happenings within the NFF are people with very little knowledge of how the international football is being managed. FIFA provides the necessities which includes funding when necessary but it's the management of the football federation of every country that actually disburse allowances and bonuses to players. FIFA won't delve into the internal affairs of the Nigerian Football Federation, that's why we'll continue to experience this kind of poor administrative measures until the right people takes over the NFF.

To be very honest with you, I did not watch the match between Morocco and Cameroon but I saw in the social media we are someone was bitterly complaining that cameroonians were obviously robbed in that match. After reading that accusation, I quickly rushed into the forum in order to confirm the acquisition. Surprisingly, on arriving here the first thing I saw was someone complaining that the Cameroonians were robbed.
It is a very big shame to African football that at this stage of football and digitalization, there is still obvious robbing that even the layman would understand
Africa should grow up and allow the sweet football flow naturally.

It was so painful to watch won't lie. Nothing Cameroon did that wasn't blown for a foul. There was one Moroccan player that elbowed a Cameroonian on the neck, no card was given, just a free kick but should that have been a Moroccan on the receiving end, I bet you it would have amounted to a red card. It's not a matter of digitalization or not, it's the corruption we're talking about, until that is fixed, we'd keep seeing these things.

The match will definitely be tough, Algeria won Dr Congo. It won't be that easy for the super eagles to defeat that easily considering that the super eagles was not able to win Dr Congo in the world cup qualifying match. However, sometimes matches doesn't go the way we think so anything is possible as long this match is concerned.
Yes Algeria is among the strong team in AFCON and looking at there head to head with the super eagles, they appear to have more advantages of winning.

You're right, those that make up that body called NFF know absolutely nothing about sports in general because if they do, we would've known from their actions, it is very bad and unfortunate that we find ourselves in such mess, I don't blame them much because that body is full of those that was appointed by the president based on political godfather recommendations, if most of them were appointed based on what they know I don't think we will be experiencing some of their silly characters from them, it very clear that almost all of them if not all are just after the funds, tricks on how to loot funds nothing more, as for Nigeria team, they have done well, I wish them luck as the continue the struggle to qualify to the next features in this AFCON Competition.

Mumsi is safe and sound. She's not just responding to treatment but also back home with the family. I'm certain her condition will not have a negative effect on his performance today. There is no shame in losing, Nigeria was the best team in the group Stage, they won all their matches with high goals margin, if thy lose against a stronger team like Algeria then so be it. Agree with you, their Head to Head tactics Algeria is ahead. But this is a strong match, Nigeria has to do everything to win, since they're not going to the world cup, let them win this trophy for the fans and country.

Nigeria players are not motivated into this game, the NFF refused to pay the players bonus and the players refused to travel but that captain had to used his money to sort the players out. I pray they don't use this mood into the game tonight. I wish the both team luck, let the best team wins.

The match is currently dominated by Nigeria however, both sides are doing pretty good but I'm impressed with super eagles cause they've created good chances and shown the Algerians that they're not a weak team or can be defeated easily, what a beautiful attempt by lookman in the 22nd minute both the Algerian keeper read the ball well and saved the shot.

 Ademola Lookman is proving that the super eagles can really survive without Osimhen in our attack, he's a threat to the Algerian defence and I love how he uses his chances well, if be gets more shots like he did I believe he'll convert one or two to goals.

These 2 are men, one is the coach of Morocco and the other is the Cameroon coach. They both bantered themselves just before their encounter yesterday which resulted in Morocco eliminating Cameroon 2 - 0. The Moroccan coach in a press conference made a provocative statement targeted at the Cameroon national team at large, I understand that in games like these, things like this is bound to happen. He said if Cameroon loses, they have 4 years to qualify for an international tournament but if Moroccan loses, they only have 4 months to play in an international tournament again, which is a direct banter on Cameroon that they didn't qualify for the WC and in response the Cameroon coach clamped back by reminding him that Cameroon last won a trophy 9 years ago and if Moroccan happens to be eliminated, it means Morocco would have gone 50 years without a trophy. Banter for banter. So Morocco will want to win this tournament so it won't be 50 years without a trophy.

I think there was a mistake from your own side. Nigeria is playing Algeria and not Angola. Meanwhile, I missed the time of the match. I thought it was by 5pm, which actually is the time. But I didn't think 5pm was close, so I slept off. I am just waking now to realise that the match has gone 43 mins already.

So, I am going to watch just the second half now and I will be optimistic if the Nigerian super Eagles will be able to win this one. I am actually seeing the super eagles as the favourites to win this year's AFCON. It will only happen if they are able to survive today's meeting with the Algerians

It's not without saying that Nigeria are in much control of the game and detecting the momentum of the game so far but am not still impressed by how the boys are missing the crucial chances we are having on goal. One of many was that of Akor who gave a wayward shot to that one on one opportunity with the Algeria goalkeeper, a ball he would have given it a carpet kick he instead chipped it over the goalpost in that close range with the goalie. This isn't a game that should go into extra halves for Nigeria.
