What about those who placed their bets in favor of the Senegal victory and have cashed out their wins, are they going to refund the money now because some courts or appeal board who are not even professional footballers just seating somewhere decided to make a ruling independently and singlehandedly re-award the trophy to a team which have been beaten by the other team already. if they had announced a rematch it would have made more reasonable sense to me but which one is they should return the trophy and hand it over to the Morocco team without even proposing a rematch or so. A really insane situation. Africans keep disgracing themselves in the international scene. What a mess. When I saw the news yesterday, I was like, What the hell is this?, In my entire life as a football enthusiast, I have never witnessed a situation like this. The impunity and corruption in the African football system are becoming unbearable, and the FIFA body needs to do something, look into this case, and air their view about what the current situation should be.

The issue is not only who wins the cup, Morocco or Senegal both are good. Morocco got the cup not because they were better on the pitch, but because Senegal did not respect the rules.
The decision could have been taken earlier, especially when the Senegal team left the pitch for more than 15 min. Still, I understand the situation was difficult, because some Senegal supporters caused problems in the stadium. They damaged seats, put people in danger, and even tried to enter the pitch by force (according to international news). Also, I read reports about problems affecting Moroccan expats in Senegal, which is worrying. Similar situations have happened before for Egyptian expats, unfortunately.
This edition of the CAN deserves better behavior from supporters to properly represent the African continent.

Which rules are you talking about? Who is the final say on the pitch? The referee or the CAF? Senegal walked away because of the behavior of the Referee. Are saying that the Referee didn't know the rules on the field? He would have blew the final whistle as the Senegalese players left the field but he didn't and continue the game and blew the final whistle for Senegal to win the game. Why CAF didn't sue the referee who didn't follow the rules. As it is, the present president of  CAF with his cabinet members doesn't know the football rules and they are acting under pressure. Yes, a country that won AFCON but that we do not know if they can actually win Senegal. Although, it is in paper and history already, there is nothing that we can do about it that Morocco won the cup but it would be good to also know that Morocco does not deserve it. I see everyone saying shame to CAF, but right now I’m a huge fan of CAF, I love CAF for taking such a great decision to save African football from the Senegalese, and what they have done to bring justice to Morocco, I call it Justice because the Senegalese stole the trophy from the Moroccans, do you think Brahim Diaz was going to miss that penalty if they hadn’t agreed with the Senegalese before they were going to come back to the field to continue the game, they obviously agreed he should miss the penalty, and the Moroccans knew the rules of the competition before they took it to court to seek for justice, I have never seen a team walk off the pitch in Europe because of a referee’s decision.

I expected the Senegalese to have known the rules before walking off the field for more than three(3) minutes, without the referee giving any indication, it was a disgrace from the Senegalese and they should have known better before taking that awful decision, they brought this on themselves, now they’re no longer Champions of Africa because they have forfeited the game for walking off the pitch, they have no choice but to return the trophy to the rightful owners which are the Moroccans.

Appealing the verdict isn’t going to change anything, it’s going to bring more shame and disgrace to the Senegalese because they brought this shame on themselves for walking off the pitch and refusing to play the game, they’re not a deserved Champions.

The Senegalese should return the trophy and medals to the rightful owners and the Champions( Morocco) failure to do so will bring more sanctions and they will be punished accordingly, they might end up being banned from playing in the CAF competition and the World Cup, FIFA is also watching their actions, and it has been condemned by FIFA.

They are taking the matter to Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after FIFA rejection or what. We should forget about going for world cup. Everything now is politicized kind of. If we were strong enough, we would have qualified without looking for excuses.

The poor officiating was too glaring which resulted in the walking away of the Senegalese players, the referee should have ended the game if he had good conscience knowing the rules or the CAF Officials who were in the stadium would have called him to order…. If there was good conscience knowing the rules and all but nothing happened, after so many weeks they’re coming to give us a verdict and you’re happy with it.

Friend, if you are writing this seriously and not for the purpose of joking or trolling, then you need to take some pills, and perhaps even undergo inpatient treatment.
Honestly, I don't really care how FIFA resolves this situation right now (although they should obviously cancel this nonsense and give the title to Senegal, who won it fairly on the field). I've simply crossed the African Cup of Nations off the list of serious tournaments. Let them sort it out themselves, let them introduce new rules for their Mickey Mouse tournament, and do whatever they want. Normal football fans simply find this disgusting to watch.

what CAF just did is very ridiculous, they shouldnt have wasted too much time before giving such a verdict regarding the winner of the AFCON 2025. i knew Senegal didn't apply a sportsmanship during that final and for sure they wont get away with it because if they do then it wont make sense for African football, what CAF would have done is to make that final decision immediately because i know that in football rule if a particular team decides to walk off the pitch for some certain period of time then their opponent will be awarded the three points but i dont know if Senegal exceeded the time and if actually they do then CAF would have made that announcement immediately at the scene rather than waiting till this moment before making the announcement after crowning Senegal champions.

This whole issue whether Senegalese are wrong or right lies in CAF as the master minder, if you ask me many complain has came to their table on the behavior of the Moroccan towards players and fans but have not taken action in final if such nature refree need to be guided properly on its decision, secondly the CAF delayed in it's decision makes it more suspicious weather they reverse it now many attention has left the competition it's more of paper and news before fans compared to reality which they have seen no matter what CAF did now people have seen their lapses, but if this can protect their image better but I see this as more of creating more harm because any nation may host and desires to have the cup at all cost because Morocco has shown such attitude towards the cup by attacking any team who stand to be a threat with all means without sanctions.

If I'm in there shoe, I will probably do the same, I'm not going to give back the trophy after the whole of the country has celebrated and other countries celebrated with them. I am still trying to cover the shameful decision this people has done to make Morocco the real winners when Senegal already won it. Let's say the worst happened during the match, why not fine them so that in the future such things doesn't repeat itself again instead this disgraceful act.

I have watch many leagues and trophy are presented to other clubs but not for one day this kind of decision has ever happened before. Already the Afcon is not regarded by most European teams which is why some clubs even, go as far as not releasing African player when it comes to the Afcon. That decision must be taken by the Referee and not CAF, it is the Referee that would tell the team that because you have left the field therefore the Match has ended and the opponent has won and nobody would dragged with them. Then that is where CAF would come in with the law which is the article 82-84. But the referee allow them to replay the match. Morocco missed their penalty and Senegal scored a clean goal and at the end of the 90 minutes, the Referee blew the whistle and Senegal was announced as the winner of the tournament. By law Senegal won the tournament clearly but by CAF Morocco. The law is not emotional.
