I swear to God if I was the president of Nigeria, I would have order every person in both NFF and NPFL to arrested and thrown into jail, if they are found guilty of their crime after thorough investigation. Seize all the property they use the money stolen from the NFF account. I might even give them life imprisonment. I think it's time for the President to appoint past players to take over that position,I think they understand what it meant to run an organisation. We missed 2 back world cup qualification, last time we won AFCON was in 2013 and our local league looks like an Amateur league. This is a poor job done by the NFF . Hopefully we get a competent person to restructure that organisation or association.
The president wouldn't do much since he himself isn't clean and the for of corruption is wide open owing to his style of government. There's no accountability in his government so everybody misbehaves freely, maybe they finally but more than they could chew, have the probe. Let's hope the caretaker committee or the incoming executive are able to right the wrongs of their predecessors. The NFF is in such bad shape now that it would take a while and a lot of efforts to fix the mess. Appointments is a game of interest in Nigeria and not about competence, they'll always appoint their own people to take that position. I can be pessimistic but I'm not expecting anything very positive from the president, maybe time would tell if I'm wrong or not

It is true that protest in football is not a permanent solution in itself but it can be one of many steps towards bringing about the right change. We all know that governments are held accountable through elections but in the case of football clubs, although the influence of fans is relatively indirect, we can definitely see its impact and it is unreasonable and wrong to deny it.
Is not everything that should warrant a protest, especially about Nigerian football because they will never listen to the protesters, football is a professional game so the government will just claim that people do not understand how the club is being managed that's why they're feeling unsatisfied, although I know that some persons might be thinking that is a way to make the government change there mind but to me there is nothing that could be achieved from the protest, and besides I don't think I have heard any country in protest of there football system, so actually just like the normal problems we are having in this country, if a good government doesn't take over we are bound to be seeing all this corruption in football and other places.

It seems to me that the problem is not just corruption in the Nigerian football administration but also inefficiency, lack of accountability and bad political influence. So it is almost impossible to get out of a situation where political influencers interfere in the matter. Now the question is whether the FIFA-appointed committee can work properly without any interference. If after this, no solution can be found and effective steps can be taken, then Nigerian football and talented players will be lost for a while.

We can see how worst the country is, and everyone is just looking, people die daily and everyone is looking like everything is fine, nobody is protesting, so I don’t even expect anyone to come out to protest about issue happening in the NFF. I don’t even know how things will be fixed in the NFF, or maybe we just going to continue like this, corruption have eaten dip into the system.

We haven't finished protesting for a good government let alone going to protest fo a footfall matters, this is a minor case for now and if the government doesn't want to do anything regarding improvement of our teams, then shame on them. If we have a government that's working all this things will definitely be taken care of. The government are not listening to protests done because of important things they need to fix; they do use their military power and police to injure the protestors on something that is very important for the country. How can they listen to protests just because the NFF is corrupt? They can't listen to them; they don't have that time because even the citizens will have a divided mindset since sport is not what everyone loves. They will urge the government to pay attention to important aspects rather than paying attention to sport, and that's the truth. These players also need to play for passion; some of them have been playing for passion because they have the interest of the citizens at heart. If all the players can play like the likes of Osimhen and others that doesent play for the money since they already have teams they are playing for, we can still be performing better in sports regardless of how the government is treating them.

First of all you have to understand the purpose and place of protest, a protest is to first register your displeasure over a situation that you consider unpleasant, now it does not necessarily mean that changes will be effected immediately. But by protesting and expressing your displeasure you will have sent a message to the authorities notifying them about how you feel about a certain occurrence or decision taken concerning a particular situation, This what makes me believe protesting is a healthy way of expressing how you feel but it has to be done in a decent manner and not a way that will disrupt the peace of other people.

Godfatherism is one n of the major problem we are facing in this country and if it does not stop as soon as possible, corruption will never stopped. The godfather when they know that they are unfit for a particular position due to their level in politics, they will hand pick godsons that will replace them and loot funds according to their demand and this is why this country will be hard for corruption to stop. The new generation are being corrupted by these wicked and selfish godfathers that don't want to leave their political seats for the new generation.

This has already affected all sectors and not just football only. People are not being accountable for their duties, they do it as they like and not fear themselves facing the consequences of their actions. This is how bad Nigeria has become and it shouldn’t be a surprise that this has also moved into the Nigerian football today. We still have a long way to go because as long as corruption is not being dealt with from the grassroots to the top, then we may not see any progress no matter the reform and changes being made in the committee that will look into the performance of the team.

As a matter of fact, currently the people that are running the affairs of NFF, are people that were brought in through the influence of the president of the federal Republic. Don't also forget that the previous leadership were forced to resign, they were threatened with EFCC and cases, and the entire board resigned before what we have now. But one thing you should understand is the fact that, this is football and there is a level to which political influence should be tolerated, the president cannot be getting directly involved with football organizations or activities in the country else it will seen as an offence by FIFA.

Boss, do you think we, the ordinary fans have a say over this matter? This is Nigeria, not abroad where they listen to their fans but here in Nigeria our voices do not count at all. How can we even take matter into our hands? Is it through protest? We don't understand the power we got as fans. what's the game without rhe fans? if we decided not to watch the games anymore by not coming to the stadium or protesting and the game doesn't hold until something is done, you don't think things will change? I'm talking about strong protest like the "End Sars" own that brought about some level of change in the police. If we can pull off the same thing whenever there's a game in the county, you'll see what'll happen. The Federal government will have to step in to save their face and we might've done something at least. With that we tried instead of hot dosing anything at all. What I don't still understand is the fans going to watch the genesis in the stadium, just imagine if the stadium is empty as a form of protects, all this can go a long way instead of not doing anything. I doubt that’s ever going to happen. Nigerians aren’t ready to push for that sort of change. EndSars was one of a kind, and yet it didn’t end well. People were shot and killed by the army, that tragic experience has made many Nigerians cower to the idea of any sort of protest or revolution. Even though the NFF doesn’t have the poeee to use the military to intimidate the fans, I feel like Nigerians are just too occupied with life issues to protest about football.

The fans have power but I do not think that such thing is applicable in nigeria, talking about protest, it is a nice idea, and is very interesting that you mentioned the end Sars protest, man you may have heard about counter protest, this government is good at it, if they know that it is going to spoil things for them, they will pay some people few bucks to do a counter protest, and if I may ask, who will be organizing the protest, the end Sars protest was a success because Nigerians starting from our celebrities were all fade up of SARs brutality, in rush era, the political sentiment won't allow some people to protest, it will be difficult for any protest be as organized like end sars protest, things has really gone too bad, I'm afraid if protest works in this one.

It's not really that easy as you are making it seem, country football and league football is not the same. If fans stage a protest against their club it will yield good result because the club owners won't want to lose their fans so it will prompt them to listen to their demand but try that in the national team and see if the government cares, they will not even feel the heat because they are not interested in Nigeria football. Forget the fact that we are blaming NFF for what has been happening in the national team because if we dig deep we might even find out that everything is being masterminded by the federal government. If you like you go can stop going to stadium to watch Nigerian matches, if it will bother them so much they will go and hire people who will stand as fans, they will even prefer that way that listen to our demands.
