Fenerbahçe lacks team play rather than skilled players. The latter are not bad, though some of them like Talisca, were transferred from Fenerbahçe reportedly even against their will. So, I agree that the main problem here lies in the approach to coaching and transfer policy. BTW, the total known transfer fees paid by Fenerbahçe this season are about $65M.

Fenerbahçe’s main problem is that they made transfers without a clear plan. Talisca was one of the team’s top performers, but as they signed one high-profile player after another, they exceeded the foreign player limit and were forced to let him go. No matter which Fenerbahçe fan you ask right now, they’d want him back. I’m certain that if Talisca had been there, they would have been more likely to capitalize on the many chances they failed to convert in recent matches.

As a result, we have a team that isn’t playing with any structure, and even their head coach returned only after his resignation was rejected. I don’t know what we should expect from them in this situation.

Trabzonspor has reached an agreement with Thomas Reis to serve as head coach. Reis, who recently managed Samsunspor, is—in my opinion—an excellent coach; he will be an asset to Trabzonspor.
The main criticism directed at Reis right now stems from a past statement in which he described managing one of Istanbul's "Big Three" clubs as a mere fantasy.
If he fails, that statement will frequently be thrown back at him.
I believe he will succeed.

I have searched for news about an agreement reached between Trabzonspor & Thomas Reis, but I haven't found a single report. AFAIK, Thomas Reis is currently the manager of Ludogorets Razgrad. So, is there a possibility that Trabzonspor will poach Thomas Reis who's currently in Bulgaria?

If the news about Thomas Reis moving to Trabzonspor is indeed true, I can only hope he does his best there & makes good use of the squad at his disposal. BTW, could you share your source, mate? I'd really like to read it.

The match between Galatasaray, and FC Barcelona will be coming up on the 13/10/2026 and is going to be a very big clash between between the leading team in the Turkish super League, and also the leading team in the Spanish Laliga.

I would also say this match can be considered the clash between two leagues, namely TFF and La Liga, because the policies of these two are quite different in terms of the foreign quota. If my memory serves me right, Turkish clubs can register up to 14 such players, and there is no difference whether they are EU citizens or, let us say, Brazilian ones. La Liga's quota only restricts non EU nationals.

Fenerbahçe has an excellent team if we evaluate the individuals who make up the squad. And it was also seen in the Champions League match he played against a very well-prepared Roma. Fenerbahçe struggled a little, but managed to bring home a very important point, which is not the best of starts, but not the worst either.

So, Thomas Reis (the German manager, right?) has come to Trabzonspor. He will be in charge of the team for the match against Galatasaray this Saturday.
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan stated that Thomas Reis accepted the offer immediately. This suggests he might have told Ludogorets Razgrad that he would leave if a better offer came along. I wouldn't have known Thomas Reis was managing Razgrad if not for your post; I had assumed he accepted the offer right away simply because he was a free agent.

Galatasaray coach must stop making Victor Osimhen the center of attention in the team such that when he is absent, it affects the morales of the team entirely. Victor Osimhen is a brilliant player but the club should not always wait until he in available for matches before they can ignite a burning desire to win their opponents with high scores. I saw a decline in Galatasaray's performance even though they are not in a bad condition but I believe that if Victor Osimhen were to be active in the UCL game they played against Sporting Lisbon, he would have pressured his team for more goals after they scored first but they all felt relaxed which later went in the favour of Sporting. Same thing happened in their last SPL game that they won 1:0 because after they scored that one goal there was no zeal to score more goals but this are situations that Osimhen wouldn't allow because he will make sure his team scores more goals in order to perfect the result.

I agree. It almost seems as if the only star of that club is actually only one, when we must never forget that a squad that wins wins for the squad and not for the individual player.
In fact, Osimhen is certainly an excellent addition to Galatasaray's attack, but it must also be admitted that midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers are still extremely important players for the club.

The next matches will be in October, and I expect Osimhen to recover by then. I hope he gets better and continues to be a threat to Galatasaray in the Champions League. Last year, he was a huge advantage for Galatasaray in the Champions League. He gave his all for Galatasaray with his magnificent performances against opponents. He couldn't play in his first Champions League match this year, and if I remember correctly, he couldn't play in his first Champions League match last year either. I hope he'll be ready for the second match and put in a good performance against Barcelona.

Victor Osimhen certainly feels the competition of the Champions League a lot and you can see that he always wants to prove that he is a top player, given that it is the most followed competition in Europe in terms of football, he knows he is being observed and wants to prove to the world that he is a top player. Last year he succeeded very well in this, even if the club was short-lived after defeating Juve. Grin

Of the footballers you listed, only Lukaku is a forward.
Kerem isn't an out-and-out striker; he's a winger. The others are midfielders.
Also, İsmail Yüksek isn't a regular starter for the team. You wrote this to criticize, but it’s not a particularly valid criticism.

Kerem is not a real striker, but if necessary he can certainly be moved around and provide what a striker normally provides. In addition to this, Lukaku is the only real striker, but given his physical form and the injury from which he is trying to recover, it will be difficult for him to quickly achieve ownership.

Considering his age, Lukaku will never be the player he once was.
The Fenerbahçe management made this move just to show the fans, "Look, we brought in Lukaku," yet they were late in doing so.
Lukaku has yet to score a goal in a Fenerbahçe jersey.
His physical condition is abysmal.
Sidiki Sherif was the right fit for this team, but unfortunately, Turkish clubs tend to pursue these kinds of transfers because they want immediate results.

I think Turkish teams, in general, should stop signing older players. All the star players nearing the end of their careers in Europe are coming to Turkey for very high salaries and experiencing their final golden age here. We need to focus on developing young, talented players in football. We need to give more importance to youth development and produce more Arda Güler’s. This level of failure in a country that loves football is a huge disappointment for everyone. Especially the transfer policies of the big teams are, in my opinion, the main thing that needs to change.

Arda Turan is currently working for a team where he is very well-liked, he has earned everyone's respect, and the team he manages is quite good. Why would he leave? Joining a team like Trabzonspor would be a huge gamble. Right now, everyone has very high expectations for Trabzonspor, so if he doesn't succeed there, it wouldn't be good for his career. Trabzonspor might be the most difficult team to manage in Türkiye right now, and most people wouldn't want to take that risk Smiley

I think Arda Turan will stay away from Turkey for a while longer. Right now, he needs to make a name for himself at Shakhtar, perform well in their European matches, and, in my opinion, try to land a spot on better teams in Europe. You could even say his coaching career is still in its infancy. He didn’t do too badly with Eyüpspor in Turkey, and he’s not doing badly with Shakhtar right now either. I think he’ll climb the ladder slowly.

I read reports about Trabzonspor being in talks with Arda Turan, but it struck me as a false news or story. If Arda Turan were to return to Türkiye, the only major club he would manage is Galatasaray. It is impossible for him to leave Shakhtar to join Trabzonspor. Trabzonspor faces a difficult road ahead, and it seems like even they don't know what to do right now.

Arda Turan could be one of the most important coaches to emerge from Turkey and make his mark on the world stage. For now, I think he's gaining valuable experience with Shakhtar Donetsk. Later, he could coach a team in Italy or Spain. Perhaps the possibility of him coaching a team in Spain is higher because he has a background there and speaks Spanish. I don't see the possibility of him returning to Turkey and managing a team as very likely.

Kerem is not a real striker, but if necessary he can certainly be moved around and provide what a striker normally provides. In addition to this, Lukaku is the only real striker, but given his physical form and the injury from which he is trying to recover, it will be difficult for him to quickly achieve ownership.

Kerem isn't a striker, he's a left winger. And as a winger, he's expected to contribute with goals and assists, even though not as much as a striker does. Lukaku isn't the only striker. There's Muriqi. And Muriqi is a much better striker than Lukaku. Lukaku seems to have lost his touch. He has just a name now, he no longer has his old finishing ability or explosiveness.

Fenerbahçe made a huge mistake by letting Talisca go and they're paying the price for it. They'll have to make another no.10/forward transfer during the winter transfer window.
