One of the major importance of an emergency fund that I believe some people often overlook is the fact that with enough or should I say an adequate emergency fund in place, there’ll be no need for any investor to forcefully sell their bitcoin in unpleasant market conditions. Sometimes we believe that the only reason people often sell early is because they fail to have a long term plan for their investment, but I tell you, even with a solid long term investment plan, unexpected expenses and emergencies can still pop out of no where and if one isn’t prepared for them, then the only viable option becomes to tap into your investment which automatically disrupts your solid plan.
The main task of a conscious investor is to pay attention to all the disasters and problems that are likely to be encountered around him. Many obstacles may have to be overcome to invest in the long term and they may be due to various reasons. There is a need for emergency funds for investment. This is a danger that comes when you are not prepared and if you need a small or large amount of money to overcome it, you can meet the need through emergency funds. It is necessary to have a proper plan for investing and the importance of emergency funds for moving forward in the long term is realistic.

Having what it takes to foresee or pay attention to the setbacks or problem you are likely going to encounter and having or keeping emergency funds is serious advantage that will help leave someone's investment in a healthy balance or atmosphere. To expantiate, when it is that you can foresee a setback, you can likely avoid it if it is avoidable and/or you will have a good plan to overcome it which makes it easier altogether. Foresight is incredible in investment knowing the advantages that comes with it.
It may not be easy to understand the future obstacles of investment without an experienced investor. To be an experienced investor, you need to be in touch with the market and deposit Bitcoin regularly. The prerequisite for long term and Prerequisites investment is to have a stable source of income and invest a portion of the discretionary income from it in Bitcoin.

If you can identify future obstacles, it will be easier for you to ensure a favorable investment environment. If you are an inexperienced investor, it is more important to have only discretionary income, and secondly to be patient, thirdly to have an emergency fund, fourthly to maintain balance in fund management and fifthly to use tolerant funds/funds that can afford to lose money to avoid panic selling.

Anyone can make profits investing in Bitcoin, but that’s if they’re willing to play by the rules. First of all, Bitcoin is a long term asset, so if you must make profits from it, either as a big or small investor, you need to invest with the same long term mindset, else you might simply end up incurring losses for yourself.

You don’t need to be an experienced investor to build backup funds and plan for future emergencies. That is why it is called “emergency”… you can’t predict the type that will come your way or when it will come. You can only prepare towards it, and you don’t need to be experienced
to do that.

Of course folks gain some experience with time while investing and going through different market cycles, which will help them understand things better and make favourable investment decisions. But it is not a requirement to start investing; same way stable source of income is not a prerequisite for investing. Surely, it can make regular investing easy for the person but it is not a requirement. As long as you can identify discretionary income from your other income source, then you can kickstart your accumulation journey with it and buy anytime it is available again.

You are absolutely correct but sometimes you need to adjust some rules yourself because you have to, meaning that you must not play by the rules of Bitcoin Investment all the time before you can be successful or make profit it, we are human and as such we can not follow everything perfectly but rather we can only try to perfect it, note: I am not advising you to bend or adjust some rules in Bitcoin investment but as a wise investor who knows what he is doing, will see this I am talking about when the time comes.

Yes it is true that patience emergency funds and proper money management are essential to continue investing in Bitcoin in the long term.  However understanding these things does not require prior experience as an investor. Experience comes with time and new investors can also learn to invest and replenish their experience base.

Having a stable income makes it easier to deposit Bitcoin regularly but that is not the only condition for investing. The main thing is whether there is extra money to invest after meeting your necessary expenses and financial obligations and all bills. Even if you do not have a stable income if you have enough extra money and can manage your money properly it is possible for someone to continue investing.

It is not possible to identify every obstacle in the future in advance because people cannot see their future. Rather, it is more important to create such a financial foundation so that even if the market falls sharply you are not forced to sell Bitcoin due to need for money or panic. Because in many cases even with experience not all market risks can be avoided.

You don’t need to be an experienced investor to build backup funds and plan for future emergencies. That is why it is called “emergency”… you can’t predict the type that will come your way or when it will come. You can only prepare towards it, and you don’t need to be experienced
to do that.
Yes I agree with you on this, an investor definitely does not have to be experienced to build emergency funds. As a person having emergency fund or backup funds is a necessity because it helps you stay prepared for the future when unexpected situation or urgent bills arises. So, investment or not, having an emergency fund is important, you don’t have to start investing or must have been investing for a long time for you to be able to build one because without it, your investment goal might be hindered and having it helps you stay focused and determined towards your long term investment journey.

You said anyone can make profit if they play by the rules lol, what rules are you talking about, your rules?
We all know that bitcoin is a long term asset, that part is actually true but rest of what you said is just soft motivational fluff IMO.

First of all, having a long term mindset is not a guarantee that you will make profit even though there might be some level of expectation for profit.
Guys have frequently bought near cycle tops in the past and claimed that they were  in it for the long haul only to then get forced out of the market  years later by life, liquidity needs, or a 70–80% drawdown that they weren’t actually prepared for, that is wake up call and proof that mindset doesn’t pay the bills when reality hits.

It is not necessary to be an expert in investing to create an emergency fund, but it is more important to maintain a balance between your income and expenses. Because you never know when you will need extra money in life. Someone invests in Bitcoin regularly, but suddenly loses their job, medical expenses, or an emergency. Then they may have to use their saved Bitcoin to meet the need. In such a situation, if that person has emergency savings, then the pressure of breaking the saved Bitcoin in such a situation will be greatly reduced.

So I think that even if you cannot deposit a large amount of money at the beginning, it is not a problem, it is important to start saving little by little according to your ability. As your income increases or expenses decrease, those savings can be gradually increased. To maintain your Bitcoin investment in the long term, it is not only necessary to have patience, but also to have financial preparation to be able to continue without selling the necessary investments.

Anyone can make good profits from holding Bitcoin but small investors need to be more consistent with accumulation and hold longer, if people who have more capital for their discretionary income can hold up to 4 years before taking profits, small scale investors should do better than that by holding beyond 4 years.
It all depends on the amount, there are some small investors that would need to hold for more than 5 years for them to gain significant profits and this still goes with consistency. Having discretionary income is very important but a lot of people don't really put this in place before making an investment in bitcoin, for such people holding for up to 4 years wouldn't work because they are always going sell their coins due to the fact that they use funds they can't afford to lose.

Don't deceive yourself man, because the truth is that profit is not guaranteed something that will happen. Long term investment or not, bitcoin cannot assure you that you will make profits. Have you forgotten that bitcoin fluctuates and one cannot know what price it is gonna be next in the future. Yes Bitcoin did so well in the past over long term so far, but we cannot just come and assume that it will be like that forever.

This is why it is sensible that person invest with only the amount they can afford to loose, this is so that the investor wouldn't be all that bothered if bitcoin dosen't perform the way it has only been.

If newbies are told to invest only as much as they can afford to lose, then someone might assume that they can suffer losses before investing. This can demotivate a new investor. Bitcoin does not offer guaranteed profits, but considering all the aspects of Bitcoin, there is a lot of potential for Bitcoin to increase in value in the long run. This is not just blind luck, but there is a lot of logic behind it. And Bitcoin is currently performing better than in the past. It was also better in past too. It has performed well in the past, is Bitcoin in a bad position now? I don't think Bitcoin is in a bad position now. Rather, Bitcoin is getting stronger with time.

And Bitcoin will go to an even better position in the future. Where it is not enough to think only about valuation when people's acceptance increases, the value of Bitcoin will naturally continue to increase.

Well I want to understand from you that how it can be wrong to claim that Bitcoin investment requires a source of income. It is true that only discretionary funds are required for investment and if one has discretionary funds then they can take a guess as to how much of it to invest and start buying bitcoins very quickly or use DCA or other strategies to buy bitcoins. Source of income and discretionary fund may be two different concepts but discretionary fund is created from source of income.

If you know that source income and discretionary funds are different, then why are you fighting about it.

If you have discretionary funds then you can buy bitcoin.

Of course, it will be helpful to have income continuing to come in so that you can be sure to cover your expenses into the future, but at any given time, you don't necessarily know your future in terms of if your income will continue to come in, yet surely some guys have stronger confidence in their future income as compared with other guys.

Discretionary funds can come from a job or they can come from other sources as well. .and so the concept of discretionary funds means that it is money that you can do whatever the fuck you want with, including burning it in a fire.

There is no need to create extra requirements on guys to buy bitcoin, since all they need to buy bitcoin at any given time is discretionary funds.

Of course, each week they might have to determine if they have discretionary funds that week, and if they have unstable income and/or unstable expenses, then they might have more difficulties predicting if they are going to have discretionary funds in the next week or even 6 weeks down the road..,. but they don't need to decide for next week or 6 weeks down the road if they have discretionary funds right now, then they can buy bitcoin.

Of course, you have a right to do whatever you like, and you might tell yourself that you are not going to buy any bitcoin unless you have at least enough money in hand  to cover your expenses for 6 weeks down the road.. or maybe you want to feel some confidence that your income is going to come for each of the next 6 weeks, but  the fact of the matter is that you might not know with confidence, but you do yoru best with the information that you have and you figure out the conditions that you need in order to feel comfortable buying bitcoin.

So mistakes can be made either direction.  One direction of mistakes are guys who buy too much bitcoin based on their overconfidence and then there are mistakes of guys who buy too little bitcoin based on their overly cautiousness.  Each of us can choose our balance and if we are too whimpy or we are too aggressive, those might be as a result of choices.  We should be striving to find a balance in our level of aggressiveness so that even if we make any mistakes, they are not mistakes that cause us major pains/damage.

For example, 1. Source of income refers to the medium or means by which you are earning money such as money from job, profit from business,Money can also be earned from house or shop rent etc.

Sure.  You seem to know the various ways that you can come accross money.  You can sell something(s), you can receive gifts or bonuses, you can inherit some money, you can find money on the street, you can borrow money (even though surely there are more complications if you borrow money that relate to terms of paying it back).

On the other hand, the money that a person is earning and what is left after meeting all mandatory expenses from that earned money is discretionary funds, isn't that the correct logic?

Sure.  You know the definition. .and all you need to buy bitcoin is discretionary funds you don't need source funds.

So this proves that other funds are generated from the source of income and we can divide it in different ways and use it for Bitcoin investment or can be used for other purposes.

Well yeah, once you figure out your discretionary funds they can be used for anything, and the categories generally fit into investing, savings and discretionary consumption.

There are many people who due to the pressure of responsibilities, cannot accumulate Bitcoin even if they want to. Having a source of income is essential. To do continuous DCA but you need extra available funds to start.

Having discretionary funds is essential to buy bitcoin.

Many times it is better to have a source income (or a stable income), but neither a stable income or a source income is necessary to buy bitcoin, even though discretionary funds are necessary to buy bitcoin (in the context of investing rather than gambling - we are talking about investing here not gambling.. at least, I hope).

[edited out]
Gift money and money from lotteries or other jobs also generate discretionary income and can be used to invest in Bitcoin. But those who don't have source of income may not generate regular discretionary income thus those investors have to depend on others like you are relying on, it may not be possible to buy bitcoin investment regularly but they can hold it for long term.

You seem to be mixing up the future with the present.

At any given time, a person needs to have discretionary funds in order to buy bitcoin, and of course, if a person uses his best judgement (aka common sense), then he can determine how much discretionary funds he feels that he needs in order to feel comfortable buying bitcoin based on the totality of his circumstances.

Like I mentioned in my earlier response, each guy exercises his judgement regarding the extent to which he believes he has enough money or that he does not have enough money to buy bitcoin, and he could error on the side of underdoing it or overdoing it.  Each guy is responsible for whether he makes mistakes and how big are his mistakes.. and yeah present circumstances of having discretionary funds at the moment may well be a different question as compared with the extent to which a person has confidence in his future income, so a lot of time, a source of income makes guys feel better that they are going to have income coming in the future to cover expenses and maybe even to be able to continue to invest in bitcoin, yet the ability to invest in bitcoin in the future is not the question in regards to whether a guy has the bare minimum abilities to buy bitcoin, which is that at that particular moment he has discretionary funds, and it is up to him to decide if he has enough or not, but the fact that he has discretionary funds means that he met the basic requirement so he has a choice about whether to invest into bitcoin and how much and/or if he should use his discretionary funds for altternative purposes such as saving and/or discretionarily consuming.

Indeed everyone needs a stable source of income to invest in bitcoins with long-term planning and to hold patiently and grow their portfolio by buying regularly

You continue to create too many requirements.  You seem to describe a preferred situation as if it were what is required to buy bitcoin, when it is not.

Sure if a guy has strong discretionary funds on an ongoing basis, he has more options in terms of how to use that money, including but not limited to buying bitcoin.

, with the discretionary funds required for smooth and worry-free bitcoin investments, and it would be better to keep some of their money in a backup fund as well.

Of course, many of us ongoingly suggest to build up back up funds and bitcoin at the same time, even though guys can choose how much preference to give to each of them, and whether to grow/maintain one or the other faster and more securely.  Those are choices, and guys can make mistakes if they overdo in one direction or another.

You should understand this calculation formula, Discretionary Fund = Gross Income of each person - Taxes - Essential Expenses, so to my knowledge in this case it is proved that there must be a source of income.

Discretionary funds are what is left over after calculating out the basic expenses, and if you have a flow of income coming in, then you might consider how many discretionary funds that you have until the next time that you get paid.  Of course, some kinds of expenses spread out over several months and sometimes they can be deferred in payment even if they might need to be paid, but there might be flexibility in regards to when they have to be paid.  For example, a guy could get a loan for $1,800 that has to be paid $450 over 4 months, or maybe he has to pay $110 over 18 months... he can choose to pay extra on his loan or he could choose to pay the minimum due.

The correct expression is don't invest any more than you can afford to lose, since there are no guarantees of profits in bitcoin and there are not any guarantees that your investment in bitcoin might not go to zero.  If you are proclaiming that guys are guaranteed to not lose money, you are lying (or misleading) them.  Newbie bitcoiners need to figure out how much money they are putting into bitcoin, and hopefully they are not emotionally attached to the money they put in, and they figure out ways to be as aggressive as they are able to be without overdoing it either financially or psychologically.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Bitcoin is safe for long-term investment and if an investor can continue investing according to plan and consistently, then there is a possibility of good profit from this investment in the future. Many times we have many misconceptions about investment, but if we think about investment simply, then we will think that investment is actually not that difficult.
For example, if an investor thinks that he will invest and if his intention is to continue for a long time, then he can adopt DCA for this investment. At the same time, he can use discretionary income while doing DCA. Because by doing DCA with discretionary income, the investor will be able to continue it easily and will be able to hold it for a long time.

Having what it takes to foresee dangers we may encounter? I doubt if we need to foresee emergencies before we plan ahead for them.
We don't need to foresee anything before we prepare much for emergencies, nope. Emergency situations are natural and they must come. Life is full or risk and emergencies, so we don't necessarily need any magician to tell us that they would surely come, or need an extra power to do that. Every normal human knows that life is full of challenges.

So, it is best for us that as we begin our investment, once our discretionary income is figured out, we immediately begin building our back up funds simultaneously because we don't know when this will occur. It can happen anytime, it's a normal thing part of live. We must always be prepared for emergencies, and the right preparation is building up our back up funds immediately

I think I perfectly understand the direction you’re trying to go. Indeed there’s nothing wrong with attempting to tweak your approach a bit, there’s no automated approach that consistently works all the time or every single time you apply it, but this doesn’t mean that people can just make adjustments whenever they feel like. For example, you are consistently accumulating using the famous DCA approach and then all of a sudden you notice that the market has suddenly hit a bull run or an insane DIP and you feel like it’s an opportunity you can’t afford to miss out on, at this point it’s very easy for your emotions to push you into making decisions, even changing your strategy and your original plans. This is why you must make sure that whatever tweaking or adjusting you make is completely in complete alignment and compliance with your original plan, because that’s just how you know that you’re not just making another stupid mistake.

Long term investment is easier said than done, the fact that an investor is investing with the DCA and buying bitcoin with a discretionary income doesn’t make it easier for him to invest and hold it comfortably for long term. An investor needs some financial cushion in the course of his bitcoin accumulation, an emergency funds to keep the investment safe during emergency situations so that he doesn’t end up selling his bitcoin investment when he’s in emergency position requiring money to solve.

Accumulation Bitcoin in DCA method is easier than other strategies. It is true that many people do not have long-term patience, but if you want to build future wealth, you need to be disciplined and patient. Develop a habit and do DCA in accordance with your financial capacity, it may be easier for you to accumulate Bitcoin in the long term.

If your financial capacity is limited, then you will be reluctant because after meeting basic needs, there are some additional needs. You can build an emergency fund from discretionary income and allocate funds for additional expenses and Bitcoin. Decide how much and where to allocate this fund according to your convenience.

Of course an emergency fund will be needed. You will need money to meet any urgent needs. This can create a financial safety net for an investor to continue accumulation Bitcoin and build holdings in the long term.

I agree with you. If a long term investor keeps changing his plan over and over again the purpose of his original investment strategy may eventually be lost. An investment plan should allow for necessary adjustments but that adjustment should not be seen as a reaction to every market situation.  sticking to the original plan  continuing to balance investments and emergency fund using  discretionary income is the most practical approach

Yeah a true investor doesn’t just choose a strategy or an approach simply because he likes it or feel it’ll work pretty well in a particular market condition. An investor chooses an approach by first evaluating and putting certain into adequate consideration and be certain that the strategy would align perfectly with these factors. We have first of all their overall financial situation, this is a good factor to consider when choosing a strategy, we have again their risk tolerance level, we have the investment goal, and a few others. The reason for this is because each individual have different positions and this isn’t about the size of their portfolio or income or when their income arrives, that’s why it’s called individual positions, and this is pretty much the reason why it’s a bad idea to copy another person’s strategy blindly because it’s working just fine for them, without first properly checking whether it aligns with yours.

Bitcoin investment is not a competition or a game that you can play by the rules to win. Bitcoin investment is far from it, and  you don't need to play by any rules instead what you need is your just discretionary income and a mindset to hold for the long-term. There are times when your basic expenses will so much that you can't figure out a discretionary income, if you find yourself in such a situation, all you have to do is skip to invest for that week or month, if the same thing happen in the following week or month, you need to take a close look at your spending to see if you have been spending too much on inessentials.  This will help you figure out a discretionary income and cut costs on inessentials,  so that you can maintain a steady discretionary income.
