Anyone can make a profit with Bitcoin, regardless of the amount, but doubling your initial investment is quite difficult because you’ll inevitably have to wait a long time for the price to reach twice your initial purchase price. So my question is why not just do it periodically? For example, with DCA, this method is much better suited for small investors because it involves minimal risk and can maximize profits as long as you’re consistent in allocating funds over the long term. This is better than making a one-time purchase and waiting for a 100% return from that single transaction. Wink

I have been thinking lately about how investing in bitcoin is actually a great idea but also it can be really hard to make profit off bitcoin if you're a small Investor
Imagine this:
If bitcoin is at $64k and me as a small investor bought with $1k, for me to make 100% profit bitcoin will have to hit $128k, that is still feasible
But if I'm hoping to make a 200% profit on my investment bitcoin price will have to get to $256k, how achievable is that ? And if it's achievable how long is it going to take

Which brings me back to my question
Can small investors actually make good profit with bitcoin?

Or are there other ways to make money with bitcoin as a small investor rather than just buy and hold?
Better to buy yourself some ice cream, get some flowers for your mom, and just spend that $1,000 on yourself—that would be 100 times more worthwhile! It’s not profitable to invest $1,000—or even $10,000—in Bitcoin! With that kind of money, it’s better to be a speculator than a "hodler."
That mindset actually can make you broke. Since after you spend that money for those things you have said. You won't get anything in return.

Also if you only put $1000 then don't plan to add it, then we can agree with you that its not worth of your time to invest that amount. But if you have a good plan then try to increase your Bitcoins, by continuous accumulation. Then with that we can probably say that all those efforts and money you spend for many years doing DCA is truly worth it.

I disagree about its good to be an speculator than being a HODler, since this is self defeating attitude.

I can make all the money I need from just one trade! Being a speculator is only unprofitable for those who don’t know how to trade!!!

Good.  You have been registered on the forum since August 2018, yet I still doubt that whatever you have been fucking around with would have had beat a fairly straight-forward bitcoin buying and holding approach.

Let's say that you had $5k to buy bitcoin in August 2018 (which would have had gotten you right around 0.67 BTC for $7,500 per BTC), and then thereafter you were going to buy $100 per week, which between August 2018 and now would have had caused you to invest about $43k, and you would have had accumulated about 2.462 BTC.

So by now you would have had invested right about $48k, and you would have about 3.13 BTC.

I doubt that whatever you have been doing with fucking around with trading bitcoin and other shitcoins has done better than a strategy focused on bitcoin accumulation through buy and hold only.

I don’t actually know anything, and I don’t have any particular skills—yet I managed to stay in the top rankings on Binance based on ROI for three months! Just a coincidence, I suppose... Now I’m looking for a fund where I could apply what I know; the rest is just trivial detail. Everyone has their own strategy.

I mean, we should only use leftover income after all basic needs and emergency funds are covered. Because this way we can build assets solidly and calmly without pressure. Profit is indeed the ultimate goal we hope for but don’t let it dominate our thoughts.
While I agree with your statement that you should not use the money needed to buy Bitcoin to buy it, I do not agree that you should start buying Bitcoin only after the money needed for the emergency fund is fully accumulated. As you know, not everyone's income and ability are equal. If a person has a small amount of discretionary income every month after meeting all his expenses, then it may take him a year or more to build an emergency fund equal to a few months of expenses. If he is busy all this time just building an emergency fund and does not start buying Bitcoin despite having the ability, then he will probably be behind in the long-term accumulation opportunity. I am not saying to ignore the emergency fund and invest all his money in Bitcoin. If he wants to, he can simultaneously consider his situation and invest a part of his emergency fund.

There is nothing that should happen that should make us to invest in bitcoin with our emergency funds, that's a wrong step for an investor to do, our emergency funds is there to protect our bitcoin investment not to be sold when we haven't reach our bitcoin over accumulation point because when emergency come and there is no emergency funds the next thought will be to sell off.

Bitcoin investment should be done using our discretionary income that is the rightful funds to be use when buying bitcoin, any one using their emergency funds to buy bitcoin is just gambling with their investment as they are indirectly trading with their bitcoin investment.
