These are trivial punishments. But I'm not surprised at all, I'm too lazy to even find out the details, for example, whether Argentina was punished for the fact that the players waved a political banner about the Falkland Islands after one of the games. This alone would have required major disqualifications, but FIFA chose to "ignore" it. And naturally, I'm not surprised that FIFA didn't punish itself for violating its own regulations when they succumbed to political pressure and lifted Balagun's disqualification. I hope that by 2030 FIFA will be cleared of all this trash (like Infantino) and we will see the organization functioning properly.
FIFA decided to ignore and not give any disqualification for this. To say it's absurd is an understatement. There should be a good clean up and put in competent people who do things well. We'll see what happens in these years. Infantino does not want to leave FIFA, on the contrary he wants to increase the competitions.

I don't understand why a striker and a winger are compared? Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two different types of players, instead of creating a competition between these players, it is better to enjoy their games and achievements. Both are legends and their names will be at the top of the list of the best players of all time. But if we look at the achievements, then Messi is still much ahead of Ronaldo. In terms of personal achievements and team achievements, Messi is ahead. So we cannot deny Ronaldo's achievements or we cannot deny Messi's achievements by recognizing Ronaldo's achievements. Both of them deserve respect, so it would be better to respect both of them.
Lionel Messi is not only a Winger but he plays in different position on their forward, he has also played as a midfielder but however the both players fans will always have a different opinion between them because of what they want to prove, actually even if one of them is the best it wouldn't change the fact that their both career is important to everyone, both players have done what non other players have done currently so we shouldn't be biased to discriminate one in other to favour the second person and besides I like the way they respect each other's considering their intensity between themselves from the beginning. Lionel Messi is a versatile player. He doesn't stay in one position cause he can make anything happen when the ball is given to him. Regardless, a comparison of both players still doesn't make sense to me. Lionel Messi is one of the best player so is Ronaldo. Each of them has their special qualities as a footballer. Lionel Messi is a playmaker, while Ronaldo is a very clinical finisher on the ball. I like both of them because in our current time, we won't see anyone better than them. The best players we have seen in our generation.

Exactly my point, if FIFA was corrupt and was actually favoring Messi and Argentina as most people claim then why were they fair with the officiating in the final match between Argentina and Spain? trust me if truly FIFA wanted to favor Messi they would have done everything possible to ensure he won the final, am really tired of trying to convince people to understand that FIFA is not favoring Messi because i have come to realize that everyone is entitled to their opinion and no matter how good anyone is in life not everyone will love and celebrate you, my only worry is that this is a time i feel that this great stars both Messi and Ronaldo should be given accolades for their years of exceptional performances rather than regular criticism.
Because a final seen by too many spectators would immediately create doubt and the search for an answer. The group stage sees the fans of two factions concentrated. The final phase, however, sees factions from all over the world concentrating on the same match, which makes it very risky and dangerous to be able to rig it.

Argentinian midfielder Paredes was punished with a 10 match ban due to the incident that happened in the final between Argentina and Spain, FIFA didn't bypass judgement on the incident, the player is facing punishment. It is okay to assume Argentina gets away with lots of things, yes they do and so do other countries, but we don't call them out because it doesn't involve either Messi or Ronaldo.
Paredes, the Argentine player is no stranger to situations of this type. He is known to be easily irritable. However, in a certain sense it can be justified simply by the fact that it was a World Cup final that had just been lost and consequently the anger and frustration were sky high.

Infantino is undoubtedly a president who doesn't even need to demonstrate how treacherous and corrupt he is, because this can already be seen very well, so much so that many national teams have decided to cancel the support given to him for the new renewal as president. I hope he resigns and stops.
To be honest, right now i’m convinced he’s not going to step down, no matter how much shame or guilt he feels. He might even continue to fight to win re-election in the upcoming FIFA presidential election, we’ll find out soon enough. Personally, i also hope he loses and is replaced by someone more competent and honest who can bring soccer back to what it used to be, a purely entertaining sport, free from political influence or interference from the host country.

I know that FIFA has punished Argentina in this regard. As punishment, Leandro Paredes has been banned for 10 matches, Nahuel Molina has been banned for 7 matches, and Thiago Almada has also been banned. In addition, Argentina has been fined a large sum of money for the Falklands banner and other disciplinary violations. I also heard that Argentina has also been punished with a reduced attendance at their next home match. It can be said that the chaos after Argentina lost 0-1 to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final ended up being costly and definitely very embarrassing. Paredes grabbed Eric Garcia by the neck and then hit Gavi in the face these things really shouldn't happen, especially in the highest level competition, let alone in a final. So, the ones punished weren't just Paredes; there were a few players who faced sanctions, including Gavi, who got a one match ban. Actually, among all the players who got punished, only Paredes received a heavy sanction, being banned for 10 matches. Paredes ban only applies to the Argentina national team matches, not Boca games, which is why he can still play for Boca. The question is, is this sanction fair? Because in my opinion, with such an embarrassing incident happening in a World Cup final, he should have been penalized both in the national team and the club.

I absolutely agree. They are two completely different players, both in terms of physical form and constitution, both in terms of type of game and vision of the game. They are two living legends who have shared a stage for more than twenty years. You just have to look at them and admire them, not always question everything.

Situations like these might please sponsors or certain corporations, but they certainly didn't sit well with viewers like us. As long as Infantino remains in charge, such nonsense will continue.

He took risks where others didn’t have the courage to do so. Now we’re accusing him of corruption without any concrete evidence. But from what I’ve seen, the competition has enjoyed a huge following ever since he introduced the new guidelines.

Paredes, the Argentine player is no stranger to situations of this type. He is known to be easily irritable. However, in a certain sense it can be justified simply by the fact that it was a World Cup final that had just been lost and consequently the anger and frustration were sky high.
Anger and frustration should not be an excuse. Most of those players play in professional leagues. They get professional training regarding different scenarios on the pitch, and therefore they very well know the consequences of indiscipline. Otherwise, what if France did the same in the 2022 finals due to "frustration" and "anger" We don't want to keep seeing players throwing such tantrums in the future because they can't keep their emotions in check.

You cannot really expect to see zero situations of anger and no self control in football especially from South America where they are really hot headed in there. Of course they should be punished to the maximum extent a few times and I think they will instinctively try to not do that anymore, if there is no punishment then there is no guarantee in the future that such things happen. What I want in fact is the referees to be punished hard, in these preliminary games of the European competitions the referees have taken sides with many teams in clamorous looking errors they make in favor of such teams yet I have not seen any referee punished. The same in this last World Cup no referee punished and as long as this goes on football is still going to be the most corrupt game on planet earth.

But from what I’ve seen, the competition has enjoyed a huge following ever since he introduced the new guidelines. Every leader has a good and bad story but what matters is the one that's more prominent. No matter a leader's achievement, there are some acts that are unacceptable especially when it bothers on corruption. The game of football does not deserve compromise because when such happens, the entire game suffers and people loose their trust. Which other concrete evidence do you need to understand that there were fishy acts in the last tournament. The rule is the rule and not even a single call should bend the rules of the game. Argentina and Messi misconducts aside, how do you explain overturning an onfield red card after a phone call from the US president. This happened when he (Infantino) needs support for his reelection which makes it more obvious. Now we have seen the deal clearly as Donald Trump has now shown full support for his return to power come next year. If he had stood his ground after the call, the world could have also celebrated his integrity and will give him full support for his next term. It is simple, the world is watching. If you do the right thing, you will be celebrated but if you do the wrong thing or compromise, the world will still know. More suspicious acts and charges still. We hope to get things right but it won't even happen soon because he has already gotten endorsement from majority of the participants.

Yes, anger situations may appear once is a while, but players, very well knowing the consequences, will learn to act with restraint. Argentina's indiscipline roots all the way from the previous tournaments, where some referees appeared to "favour" them by letting the aggressive behaviour continue without even a simple yellow card. So they started to think that they were invisible to getting penalised. And I agree with you; referees who ignore blunt fouls and aggression should also get serious punishments, and this should go all the way to bans and heavy fines. If you mess up with the beautiful game, you get banned from officiating and also get a hefty fine for the actions.

In the last few World Cup periods Argentina were given too much ease which made them act out of capacity. Speaking of anger in the end it depends on the attitude of the players themselves when the fairplay they keep should be an act of anger not channeled like it happened in the final because for me it is not a good attitude especially for professional players. Currently some players, especially for Paredes and Molina, get quite strict sanctions from fifa and this should be done since the 2022 World Cup period, especially when Argentina face the Netherlands. The habit of some referees leaning too much towards Argentina makes it seem as if their players are immune to sanctions and it has become a habit for Argentine players to play rough because they feel they have an advantage. The last report I read Argentina get a sanction of £235,000 and the closure of 50 percent of the stadium in 2 games, for Paredes and Molina they get a ban of 10 matches and 7 matches despite the appeal here but the continuation we are still waiting for whether FIFA will remain soft or change course.

There’s no any rivalry among themselves which further escalated. I see it as your thinking too . As controversial as their fans are, they don't really think about themselves that much. Rather, I have always seen that Messi and Ronaldo respect and like each other a lot. Although they don't say that they have a friendly relationship. But I saw an interview with Ronaldo where Ronaldo said that although they are not friends, they respect each other a lot. And there are many fans who have negative thoughts. Especially when they try to prove one is great, they belittle the other. Those who like Messi don't want to accept that Ronaldo is the greatest player. Again, those who criticize Messi should understand that criticizing Messi's achievement can never be reduced. Maybe they will announce their retirement before the next world cup. After this, maybe none of us will see any more exciting matches from them. No one will criticize them anymore. All the fans of football will remember them and their legacy.

I have come to conclusion based on my own personal opinion, both players are super talented and are both greatest footballers of all time as far as today is concerned and as far as history can recall. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and their gains and losses, too. None of them is an immortal so they both make their mistakes and still have ambitions they are still pursuing, despite seeing them with the high esteem. There’s no any rivalry among themselves which further escalated.
That's right, you're correct, but I think any of us have a stronger affinity for just one particular player. In the case of Argentinians, it's obvious that Messi is their leader, and I could say the same about Portuguese players with Cristiano. But everyone chooses one because they feel that player embodies many of his qualities, or simply because they like him. I like Cristiano more than Messi, and it's for obvious reasons, but it's understandable that both players are very good, the best.

Ronaldo and Messi are players that are doing well consistently for a long time now, You can see the passion and determination they are putting in the game to see that they achieve whatever is achievable in football and comparing them with players like Mbappé is not needed at all because they have proven to us that they are the best and they are consistent in doing that for a while now, Mbappé is a player with quality and he has been hiding own uniqueness but we can't just compare him with Messi or Ronaldo because they have built something he has not. I respect the three of them but they all have their uniqueness.
Ronaldo and Messi were the pioneers of the beginning of the century. The ones who truly revolutionized football and gave the world a reason to love the sport. They are both at an advanced age now and i think they just want to enjoy their last years at the various clubs and have fun playing their sport.

They are both at an advanced age now and i think they just want to enjoy their last years at the various clubs and have fun playing their sport. They have taken football to a level in the last two decades where a whole generation like us has become fans watching them play. But the sad thing is that they are now at a point where they may not be given the same competitive pressure as before, but should be seen from the perspective of enjoying the last chapter of their careers. But I am sure they do not want to leave the game yet. Because Messi still has a big impact on Inter Miami. Ronaldo has extended his contract with Al Nassr until 2027. So I am clear.

I absolutely agree. They are two completely different players, both in terms of physical form and constitution, both in terms of type of game and vision of the game. They are two living legends who have shared a stage for more than twenty years. You just have to look at them and admire them, not always question everything.
Correct, two different players with different playstyles can not be judged and said who is better than whoo, Messi is a play maker while ronaldo is a goalscorer but as much as i want to support this argument messi’s stats forces me to confess that he is the best ever. Although having primary role as a playmaker he has a better goal ratio and goal per game than ronaldo who’s main role is a striker and scoring. Apart from having a better goal ratio he has most assists in the history of football but i wont count the achievements of messi rather only say that he is undoubtedly the best and whoever compares him with anyone else just doesknow football
