I'm still holding my position: Yamal won't win the Ballon d'Or, and Kane will, these are two different bets and I even increased my position a little after the reversal of the odds. It might be naive, but I still believe that at least some degree of reason and logic should be maintained for this award, they can't keep tarnishing their image year after year.

Mbappe wants African journalists vote and he is trying to play smart . He is desperate because he never mentioned anything related to Africa but now that he needs a favor, that's when he remembered his root. Yes, there's a big key there. I have to say that Lamine has been much more consistent in scoring goals, he's demonstrating that in the Nations League, but many journalists are already casting their votes and after this, those who don't quite agree with Lamine might be convinced, but I think it's prudent that he doesn't deserve this award yet, because when you see Lamine's performance compared to Mbappe's, Mbappe is still a much better player.

I really envisaged Lamine Yamal becoming the next ballon D’or winner after Ousmane Dembele was awarded the winner in September making him the 69th player to be crowned with the award. Voting for the 2026 Ballon D’or has been officially closed and the winner will be announced at the official ceremony and celebration which has been slated for 26th of this month of October 2026. But there’s also a very strong chance and possibility of Harry Kane taking the award too. Another player who’s on the list is Mbappe especially as analysts and peers have routed him following his heavy scoring campaign. But why Lamine Yamal seems to be the majority’s favourite is because he has won the La Liga , the Supercopa Espana and the 2026 World Cup with Spain having contributed 26 goals and 21 assists throughout the season. Ah, got it. We are on the same page then. Perhaps I didn't fully grasp subtle nuance of what you said first time. By citing example of odds movement, I actually wanted to point out that even without massive media hype surrounding any player, on-field performance still influence market and fans perception. Another point I want to make is that discussion surrounding Kane is not limited merely to narrative of how many goal he has scored. He became top scorer in his first three Bundesliga season in a row, Idk if there has ever been such a start in Bundesliga history! While I respect your stand as a fan I would still like to agree with the first speaker @Coin_info Michael Olise is definitely underrated in this Ballon D’or hypes and all, he doesn’t have a strong PR and he’s not a man of pushing himself outside the pitch he lets his footballing speak for him.

I think he should be amongst the top three contenders; Lamine Yamal, Michael Olise and Harry Kane, in that order the others can come in from fourth place. Olise deserves to be in the conversation for the winner, no doubt and not Kylian.
