Trust wallet now offers prediction market

They initially partnered with Myrad, a prediction market protocol; thus, Trust Wallet did not provide its own liquidity from the start. They have since added at least 3 more partners including Polymarket, leading to the conclusion that Trust Wallet functions primarily as a prediction market aggregator.

This means that Trust Wallet is not actually providing any liquidity of its own, they are just giving space to other projects in their app. Logically, since they are only working as an aggregator, our money is supposed to go directly to those main platforms through smart contracts. Here Trust Wallet is just acting as an interface or medium. So if there is any problem, Trust Wallet will not take responsibility for those funds in any way.

This is an interesting approach from Trust Wallet. At first I thought that they created a prediction market but as I see, they aren't competing with Polymarket, instead, they are becoming a distribution layer for Polymarket and other companies in this niche. They actually help Polymarket to reach more users and improving the experience of their own users by the fact that if their user wants to use Polymarket's service, they no longer need to transfer things from wallet to wallet on blockchain.

But is it making sense? I will rather use wallets lije Electrum or Bluewallet, bit Unstoppable fir altcoins. None of these wallets are having prediction markets.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't use Trust Wallet, and I don't even bet that much on prediction markets, but I think it's a good initiative from the POV of Trust Wallet. Aside from the fact that Trust Wallet is a closed-source wallet, I don't like the wallet because they have so many external services on the app. They're always advertising one service or token every time.
For people who use the wallet, it's not a bad thing. It's something many platforms do, so it's not new. They have been doing it with other platforms, prediction markets just happen to be more popular.

Even if an open source wallet offer prediction market, I will stop using the exchange for the safety of my coins. I will prefer noncustodial wallet that do not have anything similar to betting.

"Prediction market is paused." This is the warning I am seeing when I try accessing the prediction page and can anyone confirm whether you are seeing it or not?

My best guess is the prediction market is restricted in my region and when I see the faq page the prediction is provided by a few names along with polymarket which is banned in my country so the feature from the wallet is also not available.

Very true, if I want to be honest I’ll say it wasn’t necessary to come up with such idea, and I don’t it like it. Some  business owners do not really care about they just want to make money from multiple sources.

Isn’t that the initial plan, to lure people into gambling just because they are holding cryptocurrencies, I already stop using the trust wallet I don’t like when things are being complicated, a gambling platform should remain a gambling platform, while a wallet should remain a wallet.

For now it seems that no matter what platform the prediction market remains massive and Trust Wallet does not want to be left behind to include this as their new feature although I also agree with you that this is a bit of an exaggeration.

But the hype of the prediction market still continues to strengthen, it seems that they will not care about it the most important thing here is that they have more things for them to maximize as a profit because the prediction market is quite popular with gamblers today.
Even if later this does not last long but this momentum will still trust wallet do like and indeed it is proven now. This is easy enough for trust wallet users, but it's not very good for me for a long-term strategy.

Here I completely agreed with your view but now its all about money because things are taking quick changes and competition is also increased just because of this wallet is bringing features like this for having more integration and peoples those love this and want to have predictions even this will also hurt due to this because many never love to have this due to security reasons and other fears.

In last few months predictions market is developing and many apps and sites are providing this service because its also having good number of customers sometime back I was addicted due to one exchange in gambling which bring great loses and I was in deep trouble but I was able to have end this after facing serious loses so I will surely not like this for the safety and better way of having savings in any wallet.

It is always about money and trying to beat competition, but at the expense of users who are using those wallets or exchanges.  Sorry about  your experience with this added services, but soon, we will read and hear more of these experiences from people who use those services impulsively. Since they have already started adding prediction markets to wallets, everyone will soon copy it and it will become a normal thing. As a users you should be very careful about what you are signing through a wallet even if trust wallet is only acting as an interface, most people with just the interface and features in a trusted wallet they can just assume it service itself is trusted.

Am not surprised because it seems everyone is trying to diversify,  and if the prediction markets prove to be a success and no pressure from regulators for any kind of gambling license more wallets will be jumping on this.

It is funny to expect no loses when you are gambling. Anything that makes you to bet with your money, the percentage on the option you have selected will increase as more people choose that same option. If the fed does not take any decision till when the time for that bet elapsed, your money should be gone forever. It is your duty to understand the options very well and select the one you think will probably happen for you to win the staked amount plus your winning. Betting on prediction market is difficult and understanding the bet will aid your winning.

For the fact that they offer prediction market does that mean they have been deceiving their users?
I have seen this update on trust wallet since early this year but I have not had the time to try it out but I don't know why I would prefer to want to try out this prediction market on trust wallet than on a random platform.

The prediction market is growing very rapidly and I wouldn't blame trust wallet for wanting to queue into it even if it seems like it's a means of wanting to milk out their users funds

This always brings me to the question about how they generate the wallet phrase of users who use their app to generate a wallet and how if they don’t somehow store those keys in their database, it’s really a thing of concern considering how popularly used the wallet is in my country here and it also being a closed source wallet coupled with their type of service they are offering recently the question just keep on getting large.

I remember a discussion about this whole thing back then, and it was mainly between MetaMask and trustwallet and a lot of forum members said that they would always go for MetaMask when they are dealing with altcoins because it is open-source, while for Bitcoin they have numerous options to pick from and that they won't go with Trustwallet; there is something specific that only trustwallet can do.

It was a hot debate back then, especially because no one knew how trustwallet was generating its seed phrases and whether they had a backdoor built into their app that helps them store any generated wallet.

This has been there for a long time, maybe you are just learning about it now. I first saw it earlier this year but I have not given it a try. They had some crazy events like those relating to the war in Iran, the war in Ukraine and some other geopolitical events which are not my interest, maybe that should be the reason I did not pay much attention to them.

The right board for this should be gambling discussion since prediction market is just like gambling.

It’s the first I am seeing this but then again I don’t use trust wallet. It is something that I am not surprised to see integrated into a wallet application and honestly it’s too easy nowadays for a company to implement something like this. Nobody is being deceived by big wallets such as Trust on the topic of open versus closed sources, it is more that users are not checking the original information that is relevant for wallets like this. I don't remember any time when this wallet has falsely advertised itself as open source, that could just be some false information spreading sometimes well unverified information. When it comes to features and the topic of open source wallets, I do not understand why you think that an open source wallet could not offer Visa cards. There is nothing that is preventing them from doing that, they may need to hide some authorization or security information from the public by which the wallet connects to the Visa provider but that is all. Not providing private or public keys in the implementation would not suddenly make the wallet closed source. It would just have an empty field where the confidential information is usually stored.

Comparing Trust Wallet with MetaMask, both wallets have both strengths and weaknesses. MetaMask was initially built for Ethereum, then for Ethereum-compatible networks, and then, as an understandable exception, they added the Bitcoin network. Trust Wallet was initially multi-blockchain, and the coins in the wallet were not compatible with the Ethereum network. Furthermore, Trust Wallet initially offered little-known coins with their own blockchains. Therefore, for me, Trust Wallet would be more convenient for prediction markets than MetaMask if MetaMask also offered prediction markets.
