What is most interesting is where the coin is, how will the stolen person make it Fiat currency?

The stolen coin was there yesterday.

Oh, my Bitcoin... Sad
However, I am fortunate that the coins I was robbed were around $100.

I hope that such a thing never happens again.
I leave NiceHash. I do not expect Bitcoin to come back.

Will use mixer pool and spent it.
The hack is unreal but exit scam is obvious here.
Just see reddit's opinions about it.
Most of them believe this is exit scam.

It will be never ending argument, some people believe that there was real hack and some others doubt it and say it as exit scam like what you said. It is reasonable to say like that, because we do not know the real fact. What makes it looks like scam is because it is happened when the bitcoin price increasing crazily. Anyway, I'm sure the mystery will be revealed sooner or later. Smiley
I think NiceHash was a scam. But there is no way to know about it at the moment.
I wait for the official statement and I pray that they will not run away.

There was no "hack", they simply stole everyone's money. poof, it's gone. If they do go back online without given back stolen BTC, anyone stupid enough to use their service deserves the second theft that will happen again at some point in the future.

It is sad that NiceHash was a scam, but we just have to go forward. Smiley

I currently have Monacoin and BitZeny, but I draw coins to Wallet as soon as possible. There is no longer a reliable pool.
It is the same as Mt. GOX, which no longer has reliable exchanges.

I hope that your security awareness will be further improved by this incident.

busy recovering from hookers and coke.   Wink    Who knows.  When you deal with wild west scenario i can only imagine you are dealt with in the same manner.  NO?

Must suck to have to live looking over your shoulder.     Id say that lessons are hopefully learned but with the amount in the hot wallet its obvious that nothing was learned.

MRR looks good, but the problem is, the miner must be stable 100% to avoid refunds to seller.
Normaly it would be no problem, but some times I had troubles with my miners and cant fix it while working or need time to drive to the location.

And it is problematic to use it for Multi-Algo-Miners as far as I know actual.

Is there any other service like Nicehash for selling hashpower, without needed guarantee for 100% working miner or the Baikals?

What does the profitability look like compared to mining through a normal pool, and what does demand look like? Are you pretty much always guaranteed to be renting your rigs out 24/7 or will they sometimes be sitting there waiting?

Scam or hack... what is the question...

But in 2015 they posted that :

https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:LV7jr0XYDgoJ:https://www.nicehash.com/news/31+&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=fr

Quote
A vivid discussion arose among Bitcoin community about the new Bitcoin XT. Bitcoin XT is a patch set on top of Bitcoin Core, with a focus on upgrades to the peer to peer protocol.

Since NiceHash is operating as a proxy between sellers (miners) and buyer's pools, we are not running our own wallet. That said, we are not using neither the standard Bitcoin Core client or the new Bitcoin XT client for the NiceHash service itself.

That said, mining on our service is not affected by the changes that the Bitcoin XT or any other new Bitcoin client might bring. Furthermore, if you are a buyer of hashing power you can buy hashing power and direct it to any kind of SHA256 pool - weather this pool is using the standard Bitcoin Core or the new Bitcoin XT.

Our online wallet for deposits and managing funds for purchasing hashing power is operated by BitGo and funds are fully insured by BitGo. Since BitGo's wallet is offered as a service, we have no influence on what kind of Bitcoin client is chosen and used by BitGo. Of course we fully trust in BitGo's professional service on choosing the best and most secure underlying infrastructure and technologies, including the back-end Bitcoin client/wallet.

Last but not least we would like to say that we strongly believe in Bitcoin as technology and currency and are confident that the community and users will consolidate and choose the best and most appropriate Bitcoin client(s).

Thank you for using our service and keep on hashing!

Best regards,
NiceHash team

Thanks man.
This is more than a proof that We are facing with a exit scam. We should report to the relevant authorities and law enforcement for making them stop.

It's the more likely scenario, unfortunately. They might come back but the money though, every statement, pre-recorded stream or interview has been totally evasive when it comes to that.

Look at it on the bright side, on their official twitter now they want their nicescam drones to show off their mining rigs.

-Why they never point to bitcointalk thread in their site? like btc-e.com?
Because the smartest people are here and people made so many negative comments here.

-How react to exit scam?
Tell mafia about it and pay to mafia for getting your money back from scammers or even hackers.

-How nicehash react to this incident?
They don't care it, Like nothing happened. they only care about their site and patching their site back together and start making money again.

-How their social media works? for example Twitter?
They comment #nicehashminer every five minutes, but they answer one of our questions about money/hack/future every 48h once.

To be continue ....

This is a good article that i'll linked below

http://spuz.me/blog/zine/N1c3H45h.html

I like 3 parts

Quote
The hacker(s) involved would have to have known quite well the internal systems in order to pull this all off. If we take a closer look at the way in which all the bitcoins were extracted, the first coins were sent out on 2017-12-06 05:05:10 and the last coins were sent out on 2017-12-06 08:42:03. Essentially, regardless of the time zone, it took nearly four hours. This entire time, the system admins didn’t notice anything? How could that possibly be. A platform that deals in such high volume of transactions doesn’t have any bells that ring whenever transactions weighing around 1,000 bitcoins is sent in time intervals? Just look at the blockchain transaction history of that bitcoin address and tell me that the payment time intervals don’t look suspicious.

Quote
Matjaz was arrested and found guilty in 2010, here's an article that details all of it. What is this guy doing as the CTO of Nicehash? Very suspicious how he was arrested in 2010, but Nicehash was created in 2014 (that of which he was a core developer to). So now we know that the CTO behind Nicehash has involvements in Darkode...There is a possibility that this was all an inside job no doubt.

This could very well be an exit scam

"YOUR bitcoins were stolen?" No NiceHash YOUR bitcoins were stolen, not ours
On Nicehash latest update, it says
"Your bitcoins were stolen and we are working with international law enforcement agencies to identify the attackers and recover the stolen funds. We understand it may take some time and we are working on a solution for all users that were affected."
Hell no! My bitcoins were deposited on you; and so, it's YOUR bitcoins that were stolen. I can feel your problems, but I care about my problems more!
I don't know how much money you have spent on your security; I can't know, I don't care. I don't know if this was an inside job; I don't know; I don't care.
I TRULY am sorry for your loss, you were a good service; but note this, it was YOUR money that was stolen NiceHash, NOT the users. And it's completely on you. So I am DEMANDING my funds, not "wishing" for it to be paid back.

Have anyone noticed that MRR pool at miningrigrentals.com is offline ever since the NiceHash hack? Were they just pointing miners there? Or even worse: are they related?

They were redirecting hash, yes.  I noticed a direct payout price correlation on numerous occasions.  I do not believe they are officially affiliated, however.

I don't care when they would come back. actually i don't care If they want to come back or they don't. The only important matter is how they deal with our stolen money? It was Nh's fault and They are fully responsible. i Lost so many dollars here as buyer almost $4000.

Why sellers should sell mining power at NH when there will be no buyers? I migrated to miningrigrentals.com. I'll stay here until NH repay our stolen money. They should have a good strategy and an excellent solution for buyers if they want to be Great again.

Tell that they have increased their security a lot and no such thing will ever happen again, attempt to track down the "hackers" and just moving on and keeping the system up for more miners to join constantly. Easy.
