My pool bbr.mbkpool.info experienced major connection problems due to boolberry daemon overload. There were 2 threads to serve RPC requests from the pool hardcoded in the source regardless of CPU cores available. I had to increase the count and recompile the daemon. The problem solved. I'll be watching pool performance more closely next few days.
Any idea on the latest issues? The rewards have been piling up without payment for a few days.

Can someone give me a quick summary of how to go about solo mining this coin against the qt-boolb wallet? (Or is that even possible?)
I found some very generic directions but I can't fill in the gaps to make it work (like URL to get scratchpad from).
How do I do this?

Has anyone verified the BBR GUI is free from virus?
Firefox is warning me when I download it. Is there an easy way I can create a cold wallet address to send to without downloading the GUI at all?
Thanks

The file is fine. Firefox doesn't like the .exe file. I'm assuming you're using Windows. If so there are two downloads on the Boolberry downloads page. One is "Full Installer" and the other is "Full Package". The "Full Installer" is an .exe file and that is what's causing Firefox to give you a warning. The "Full Package" is a zip file. I personally don't like using installers if I don't have to so I use the "Full Package" and unzip to a directory of my choosing and run the qt-boolb.exe from there. Maybe use the "Full Package" .zip download and then do a mandatory check of the .exe at virustotal.com before launching. Then just wait for it to download the blockchain which will take some time. You can also use the command line simplewallet which is included in the "Full Package" .zip download. http://boolberry.com/howto.html#wallet

If all I want to do is create an address to send BBR to cold storage can I do that with simplewallet even before the blockchain synch is complete? My first thought was to use simple wallet but the guide here said that my password would be created in my command history and I was not sure how to solve that: http://boolberry.com/howto.html#wallet"To generate a new wallet, use this command: simplewallet --generate-new-wallet="path\to\file\want_to_be_reach.bin" You will then be prompted for a password. There is an option to enter the password on the command line, but then the password will be saved in your command history which can be read by others."

ATTENTION: Anyone mining at cncoin.farm, watch out for increased fees. I'd like people to spread the hash around. Looks like some solo mining has dropped off or something. I'll wait a bit and see how it goes, but I think I should just up it to 3% now as a kicker. ...snip... thank you. If you haven't already gone past that point, your history isn't saved in Windows anyway (unless something changed in windows 8 I guess). You probably just don't want to add the --password option anyway, and just type it in. It just means if you put it on the command line like --password "MySecret" then someone could come to your computer and hit the up arrow to get to that password. Just don't set that and it will ask you for a password. You don't have to sync. Just send to that address.

My pool bbr.mbkpool.info had problems with payments lately. It was due to wallet getting out of sync like many times before. All miner payments for last few days have been sent. I rescheduled the wallet restart script to prevent such problems in the future. Just noticed - cncoin.farm has 97% of total hash rate. It's a reliable pool but it doesn't look good for the coin. Please, use solo miner or some other pool if you can.
Hey, here's a git diff that fixes that if it's that the wallet seems to stop checking for updates. diff --git a/src/wallet/wallet2.cpp b/src/wallet/wallet2.cpp index a525a86..c8d7ee4 100644 --- a/src/wallet/wallet2.cpp +++ b/src/wallet/wallet2.cpp @@ -436,10 +436,11 @@ void wallet2::refresh(size_t & blocks_fetched, bool& received_money) catch (const std::exception&) { blocks_fetched += added_blocks; - if(try_count < 3) + if(try_count < 3000) { LOG_PRINT_L1("Another try pull_blocks (try_count=" << try_count << ")..."); ++try_count; + sleep(60); } else { I believe that came from Onishin in #monero-pools when he posted it there about monero's wallet doing that a while ago. Haven't had to restart because of this issue since doing this. Now not being able to make a payment because of dust and transaction being too large bites me all the time. This is not perfect solution, since wallet2 class used in differen components, and this approach could broke or frees GUI for example. Just commited more correct solution that should work for pools as well. (The real problem was cz throwing exception that killed RPC server thread) Thanks to Clintar to point to this problem Zoidberg
