1 1/2 year ago we had the go china campaign

results of our last initative was the chinese translation of our website and a minimal ANN thread on chinese BTT altcoin forumpart

there just was noone able speak/write chinese in our ranks to follow up the ANN posting

when we run a testnetwork i often run 4 wallets on same pc its easy possible with each wallet have set a different datadir path

at the real portability is not necessary to create shortcuts.
you just need to copy the folder with wallet and carry it wherever you go and wallet will work with this folder also.

Portable version - this is when all the data (and wallet) are stored next to the exe file in the same folder, but not in Roaming.
More a portable program does not prescribe anything in registry, and saves settings and other in the settings file ...

the way with datadir set at wallet startup it perfect portable
midterm

longterm its clear mobile wallets will be industry standard
most dmd users will run a small mobile wallet and a big staking wallet
or share keys between both wallets

we will seek the best compromise between still able to POS and enjoy all comfort of mobile wallets

but we wont do this for DMD v2
this still is on roadmap after DMD v3

this is one way how u can be portable already now

Here is another important information.

If you want to file your wallet.dat not place on the C drive and was located next to your wallet (in the folder diamond), then you need to create a folder called diamond next to the file diamond-qt.exe and the label (diamond-qt.lnk) with replace the directory boot blocks .
For example: your wallet file is located on a removable disk H: in the folder  Diamond. Then in the file diamond-qt.lnk should be spelled out

H:\Diamond\diamond-qt.exe  --datadir=H:\Diamond\diamond

Starting wallet will be through the diamond-qt.lnk  and all files purse can be located on any drive.

but as I wrote it only a "crutch"
it's not really a portable version. it is simply an option that allows wallet work from another location.
This is not user friendly
housewife who believed that DMD is a coin that is worth to have a happy future for their children will understand all these nuances?
she can only copy the folder to a USB flash drive for security and run the wallet. for the rest it will need help.

while there are here such and similar crutches coin will not become publicly available.
