I just got into minting/mining DMD. The question now is, what errors can a newbie like me do while minting/using the wallet software which can cause me to loose some/all my DMD? While staking? While sending/receiving money? This is probably a very stupid question but how hacker proof is the DMD wallet/ecosystem?
It is very difficult to make a mistake that can lead to loss of coins. The most important thing that you should know is that when you first start up your wallet creates a wallet.dat file in which your coins will be located. After creating it, you must set a strong password and immediately after that, make a backup copy of the file wallet.dat After this more, you do not have to worry. If you have any other questions related to the current DMD v 2.0 wallet, you can get acquainted with the questions and answers on this page https://diamond-info.github.io/dmd_info.html

keep trying When an orphan block occurs via proof of stake mining, it is because another block inside DMD Diamond network staked at the same time and the blockchain accepted the other block's stake rather than your stake. The PoS transaction in the QT client will show 0 confirmations, and only exists in your own client and is not recorded to the blockchain. If you get an orphan, simply keep your wallet as is and your DMD will remain competing for stake.

If I'm running the qt wallet... can I still access the daemon for queries?
I'd like to have the qt wallet running and staking, but also be able to make queries via the command line from a script. How can I accomplish this?

Sorry I do not remember if this question has already been asked: for pos staking the portfolio should be open 24/24/7? Is it closed for a few hours after my staking? Do I just lose coins for those hours I've been off, or lose all that day?
Thank you

so close before close of DMDv2 it make no sense answer that for DMDv2 so i answer it for how it will be in DMDv3 in DMDv3 the longer ur wallet is online the more coins u have the higher the chance is u find a POS block u have to understand that not ur balance compete for POS blocks but ur individual coin pile inside the wallet do so there is no break after one pile found a block this one pile is maybe 25 hours out of game until he is mature again and can try POS again but ur other coin pile inside wallet still can search and try find a POS block meanwhile we will prepare a DMDv3 POS guide around release

all the bitcoin logic here fit for DMD Diamond too after all we share 90% of our codebase with bitcoin and only the other 10% are what make us better https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/API_reference_(JSON-RPC)

In the new version of DMD 3 we will have 1450 coins per day. Of these, 35% are POS and 65% are MN. Based on this, for all POS miners will account for ~ 508 DMD. This number will be distributed among all the active participants of the network. The more coins you have, the higher your income will be.
