I have +200-1000 kh/s monero miners.
Is it better to mine solo with this hash power?
Can anyone tell me how to mine solo to only one wallet from many GPU's?

The proper thread is mining thread, where this has been addressed before, but I don't feel like finding the link.

but, the quick answer is yes, you should solo mine - this adds a powerful node to the network.

to solo mine with GPUs, you need to setup your own private pool as far as I know. DrHiggins may have done that already, so maybe he can help.

From my understanding over the last 8 months its not a good idea to mine directly to an exchange.  I've always read to take the payment directly to simple wallet, mymonero.com, or other 3rd party GUI's out there.  I don't like that Polo is taking funds but I never mine directly to an exchange because I have no control over how the transaction is set up.

I have read more problems about Poloniex on this thread over the last 8 months than I ever did with HitBTC.   As a safe practice I never mine to an exchange directly.

Any other feedback ?! How do you feel about poloniex keeping tens of thousands of unclaimed XMR from miners  ?

No I don't like that they are taking all that XMR, but with this coming up now, I will never mine directly to an Exchange.  This is a very young currency and there are going to be problems.  I never knew a legit reason why not to mine to an exchange until today, but I followed the advice of the Dev's and other respected members in this thread not to do it, just bad practice.  I have lost no funds having them sent to my simple wallet. My pool account holds the dust and rolls it over each payment made and I do keep an eye on it daily.

I hear all your complaints and they are valid and Poloniex should be held to account, but at the same time what have you done to help the situation out in your favor?  You really should address Poloniex directly and help out the community since this problem bothers you so much.  I've read you trash talking the devs about how they don't care but what level of responsibility have you taken on your own?  They are your funds yet you blame others to how they are managed.  Use safe practices and take some action. This is all I have left to say on this matter.

Gingerale I never set up the mining.  But I do run a  full time node and help the community that way.

I'm actively reading both here and @ IRC, so I don't make it to your statistics. Well, not until now, I did bite as I write this reply...
Much like myself, there's probably a lot others that do the same, taking idle work time to catch up on the threads and chats.

we could include in the checksum if a payment id is needed.
eg addresses which may only be funded with a payment id have checksum+1
simplewallet is then able to see if its a "normal address" which MAY have a payment id or a special address wich MUST have one.

^of couse simplified, but i think its VERY usable for any bussiness

could be implemented in a single wallet too - but atm (as most wallets rely on simplewallet) i'd like to see it there Wink

you can not block the sending of coin
if you have not put a payment_id?
and enter a default payment_id
in the help of simplewallet just write that unless you have a payment_id
by whom you are sending the coin
Insert type "default"
a thing like that
seeing that simplewallet asks a payment_id
and in the help is written to ask who should receive payment
many ask for information before sending
I think that so many will not go wrong in sending coin
well of course there is always the idiot on duty
but for this
you can not do anything

hrm, that would be a relatively simple line of code to add to simplewallet. Simplewallet checks the transfer string to see if there's a payment ID. If there's not, it displays "You are currently sending this payment without a payment ID. The recipient will not be able to identify that you have sent this payment. Would you like to add a payment ID?"

yes/no

"Would you like to add a random payment ID, or encode a message in hexadecimal? (limited to 32 characters)"

random / encode

random -> inserts random payment ID, executes transaction

Encode ->

"Please enter your message. Your message will be clipped at 32 characters or padded with 0's to reach 32 characters"

User enters message, hits return, executes transaction.

That is not how the world works, when you catch a scammer scamming, you tell them what to do not vice versa.
I was hoping the community comes up with an unanimous decision before forwarding instructions to polo.

There is nothing we can do about it, the ethical thing would be they donate the unclaimed XMR  after a year or so to a charity or something, there is always possibility the owners would claim it back someday so they need to keep at least 20% or something.

Read the last 2 pages, 10,000+xmr can not ever be claimed because the TXs are public!

What is sad is reading page after page of your complaints and negative attitude. You except the Devs to go begging for something that is not theirs and then have the gall to suggest to submit false claims to Poloniex to steal unclaimed coins. You have no scruples!

GTFO this OP. You are wasting space. I had you ignored once. I shall do so again so I can weed out your bullshit Mr. Basement Keyboard Warrior.

I was on Poloniex when you (Polo Nick BCX?) started attacking the Mod OldManKidd without even trying a normal conversation first. He answered that they kept the unclaimed XMR for audit reasons and that he would take matters to Busoni.
You kept on droning about scam and how you would take it to Bitcointalk and start a shitstorm and such.

Just like Alit on IRC you like to stir shit up and feel all righteous instead of constructively participating in a solution. BCX=primer=Alit ? anyway who cares.

Work on your conversation skills if you actually intend to find a solution.

What is your problem guy. It says very clearly "You MUST send your deposit using the unique Payment ID below. Failure to do so may result in the loss of your deposit." Just follow the instructions. How hard is that? If anyone loses their coins that's their fault. Its not polo's responsibility to do a ridiculous amount of work to figure out whose coins belong to whom if they are deposited without an id. And no one else has a higher claim on those coins than polo so they may as well keep them.
