Appears that QCN just passed MRO in price.

.0076 for QCN  and .0064 for MRO.

That's because there's less QCN 100K.

The difference between QCN and MRO is that the QCN mint rate is 1/4 that of MRO.   So I'm more short term bullish with QCN.

http://moneropool.org not paying the last 4+ hours. Is this normal? I am mining with around 240h/s and just switched to this pool today. The previous pool that I was at was paying a few times per hour.

Looking at the Pool Blocks page for both moneropool.com and moneropool.org both seem to have an issue - there's some blocks which haven't reached maturity but which should have paid out by now, going back a few hours.

Might be a problem with the new stratum protocol or new pool software?

Hey guys,

i like your coin. Nice concept etc.

I am mineing here: http://moneropool.com/stratum.html#

after entering my walletaddres (exported it out of the wallet.txt, also checked witht he "addres" command)
the pool is saying i have 0.042 MRO, but i didnt receive them yet.

Is there a payout treshhold are am i mineing in the wrong wallet?
Would be very kind if someone could help me, i never mined a CPU coin, yet.

A number of things could be setup incorrectly. What output do you get when you try the "refresh" command from your wallet?

I honestly think we could go up 300% if we got listed on Mintpal. Sadly I don't even see us on the list of coins to be voted in.
I sent them two messages days ago, before and after the release on Poloniex. The answer was the same: we'll keep an eye, maybe in some months (yes, months)

I would not be surprised they change their mind, though.

They're probably trying not to let the cat out of the bag and cause a huge pump before they add it.

I would tend to take their response at face value only because of the technical challenges of integrating it. They can integrate 100 shitcoins for the same effort as integrating MRO. However, I also agree they may change their mind when they see how much activity is has on the other exchanges.

My last 2 MRO withdrawals from Poloniex failed "COMPLETE:ERROR"...
Then several hours later they probably have to do a manual resend...
Exchanges hate this, baby.

And ONLY MintPal... is MUST be MintPal...
(People who even mention Cryptsy are 6 months behind the times).

After running the "refresh" command on the wallet i just received my coins. Seems like it wasnt updateing by itself. Is this normal?

Hi,

I tried to use the binaries for Mac OS X on Mac OS X Mavericks and I got the following error:
Quote
-bash: ./bitmonerod: Operation not permitted

I recompiled the source and it works now. My compiled binaries:

Yes that is totally normal. Eventually there will be GUI wallets that self-update, but for now, enjoy the pioneer spirit!

Looks like miners, or somebody, is voting on the 2-minute block vs 1-minute block.

QCN now higher than MRO on polo.

A slightly higher price on the back of 18.5 BTC in volume vs. MRO's 273 BTC volume? Not a relevant comparison.

QCN 0.0091 on 293, MRO 0.0056 on 620.

Relevant yet?

Assuming you waited long enough for the transaction to get into the blockchain.
Does Bittrex require a payment ID? Usually only exchanges require the payment id, it is an optional argument to the transfer.
Example transfer command to single address, for 20 coins and no mixin required:

Quote
transfer 0 <address> 20 <payment id>

QCN has been relevant for a while, out of the two I am only holding MRO, but I can see that QCN is doing really well.

It's volume is very high, but more importantly the QCN hashrate is now over 50% of MRO. Hashrate talks in Crypto.

I'm not sure what is it about QCN that makes it more appealing to people, is it really the 2 minute blocks? Or the slower release schedule?

Whatever it is, QCN is becoming more and more relevant every hour.

Pool operators: please restart bitmonerod with this command (remove your pool's IP)

Code:
./bitmonerod --add-priority-node 198.199.79.100:18080 5.9.25.103:18080 107.170.182.209:18080 62.210.78.186:18080 216.119.175.73:18080

This will keep open connections to all major (>2kh/s) pools so the pools mine less orphans.

This!

Altho' the public pools don't account for much of the network, hopefully the private pools read this and also do it?  (I'm assuming the serious miners are running their own pools especially now that there's stratum support)

More people should use cryptonote.exchange.to no withdrawal and deposit problems as such. Just manual which is much more secure. But the actual site and trade matching is great.

You're calculating it wrong.

The hash rate for QCN is 650k, MRO is 2.46m

Hi, I think the issue was I restarted bitmonerod without restarting the simplewallet daemon. Simplewallet rejected the payments because of "lack of funds", so I restarted it and it scanned for new blocks, and payments have gone out.

Edit: speaking for moneropool.org

We have not found any orphans since I added the other pools as priority nodes. I think our blocks are propagating much faster now.

Hey guys,

if you want to mine CPU coins like Monero (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0) you probably need more CPUs.

I found a nice page where you can rent servers per hour and where you can add multiple servers for getting more cores.

My little guide is for cpuminer-multi because it seems, this miner is getting a bit better shares compared with simpleminer.

If you want to donate me for that, i would be happy. Otherwise just use my referal link, because if you pay in 10$ i will recive some $ for free Smiley
Bitcoin: 1KmqFFHJQMdsYVdGNDs3biC3ziiTZU6vSZ

And here is the tiny tut:

1.)  sign up useing my referal link (as i mentioned, i am getting some free $s if you sign up via my link): https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=0673101630f5
2.) for being able to use the servers, you must deposit 10$. I suggest useing paypal, because i don't like entering my credit card informations on the internet.
3.) activate this coupon code for receiving 10$ on digitalocean for free!! SSDMAY10
4.) create a droplet with 2CPU and 2 GB of ram (for example Ubuntu 14.04 64bit). You can have up to 5 droplets per account!
5.) per email you will receive the server IP and password.
6.) connect to the server via putty
7.) run the following commands for getting the miner:

Quote
sudo apt-get update

Quote
sudo apt-get install git make automake screen libcurl4-openssl-dev

Quote

Code:
cd cpuminer-multi

Code:
./autogen.sh

Code:
./configure CFLAGS="-O3"

Code:
make

After that cpuminer-multi is ready and compiled (if you have any problems here, message me, i will assist you)

If it is ok for you for letting the putty-windows open you don't have to install any other programs. I always have the putty windows open on my second monitor. Otherwise you might want to install screen and run the minerd command with
Quote
screen -S
I have my wallets on my windows computer which is running 24h per day, so i don't use screen. If the pool i am mineing is getting any problems, i will simply change it Smiley

Now you want to choose a pool, i am useing the monerpool.com:

for starting the miner you must go to the miner folder:

cd cpuminer-multi (if you left the folder before)

Starting command:

minerd ./minerd -a cryptonight --url=moneropool.com:5555 --user=pleaseenteryouraddresshere --pass=x -t 2

the
Quote
-t 2
is starting 2 threads. If you, for example, have a quadcore server, then set this to
Quote
-t 4

I hope this was helpfull for some people. It's a nice way for starting/testing cpu mineing.

Also the server could be used for setting up an apache webserver, a teamspeak server etc!

If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

So 55%

Are they not the exact same proof of work?

Difficulty is average amount of hashes required to find a block.
network hashes per second = difficulty in hashes / block time in seconds
QCN hashes per second = 82,432,816 hashes / 120 seconds = 686,940 hashes/second
MRO hashes per second = 147,265,939 hashes / 60 seconds = 2,454,432 hashes/second

Agree with that
