Happy Birthday Monero

What a day, from just a bytecoin fork last year to a solid emergent hedge to BTC, we have come a long way gentlemen. Thanks to the exceptionally brilliant dev team and equally intelligent community. I find myself lucky to be involved in such a project. A true Laissez-faire

As a surprise, i received my physical Monero on this very day. One of the first batch of physical Monero ever created. Probably the first one in my country. Thanks Cryptonic Smiley

I'm glad I had a chance to drink a beer with dnaleor today precisely at Monero birthday time.  Smiley

The force has been very, very strong so far around here. Looking forward to drink a beer with more of you.

Happy birthday Monero, happy birthday this awesome community!

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

Happy Birthday Monero.

... and many more to come.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

365 individual days i've been here, used countless profiles, relentless discussions ranging from absolutely abysmal to limitlessly enthralling, new mindsets achieved, new horizons discovered, I've lived at least three different lives this year and am now starting on a fourth, so many new people became a part of this along the way, but throughout it all there's only been one core team and only one monero. Both to be a constant anchor for many years to come.

Good to see we made it Cheesy

This is a good observation. Around the time monero was created there were 10 coins created per day. Some of them even bubbled but almost all of them today  are nowhere to be seen. Monero bubbled a bit. Dumped a bit. And now seems in a good state. Lots of work to be done for sure and and from the community end too! But that observation with a few beers seems promising Smiley

Monero Commons is a media file repository making available public domain and freely-licensed educational media content (images, text files and video clips) to all. It acts as a common repository for the various activities in and around the Monero Project. Everyone can easily contribute on GitHub.

The classic HTML view is http://commons.xmr.biz/ and media assets hosted there are allowed to freely hot-linked.
The GitHub repo to contribute and provide feedback is at: https://github.com/xmr23/commons.xmr.biz

From my POV it was a good idea to try this. If the community helps to collect all the best Monero content there, this media file repository could be a really valuable asset to the community.
Could be a big help, for people who want to support Monero (by doing a presentation, interview, creating a website, ...).
It can also be a good help in daily routine talking with ignorant or uninformed people, if u always have a HQ quality infographic at hand.
Like: http://commons.xmr.biz/Pictures/Infographics/privacy_matters.png

Please help by uploading useful XMR media files at GitHub or providing links to the material via PN or GitHub issues.

I am really interested in open feedback about this. I have more content (infographics, GFX stuff) I will add later.

Monero is the opaque black pepper which complements the clear white salt of Bitcoin.

Both are needed on every dining table and in every kitchen.  They do not compete, but rather accrue synergies with dynamic value propositions:

complement, (kŏmˈplə-mənt)
    n.
Something that completes, makes up a whole, or brings to perfection.
