Bittrex.com has disabled Monero.
There was an announcement that some coin will be removed. Monero was not on that list. What is going on? I was carefull and held just part of my Monero in bittrex, but I am anyway pissed of. Is Monero really removed form Bittrex or just for a while. Is there any way to got those Monero back?

[...] XMR and BBR are in the same situation here. [...]
But only one of these is relevant enough to actually get attacked. Apologies, but I could not resist the temptation of participating in the ramble of thoughts concerning the diverse 3-lettered initiatives.I would like to extend wishes of a "nighty night" to tacotime, who brought forth meaning to the expression blockchain voyeurtm. (Note, that's a good thing, I'm just glad you're around and attentive) ~ Myagui

Download the blockchain, make a copy of it. If your sync fails, you can go back to the copy and try again. are you saying it is just a 50/50 probability issue?

Cryptonote has been a cluster fuck from the start. Deliberately poorly coded with exploitable mining and made by a scam team. I appreciate that Monero had nothing to do with that but the algorythm is fucked at its core.

Download the blockchain, make a copy of it. If your sync fails, you can go back to the copy and try again. are you saying it is just a 50/50 probability issue? No because more and more people will be on the right chain. There are still some nodes on the broken chain but it should become increasingly rare so you will be less likely to sync with them.

This is quite a development. There are some complexities with doing such a consolidation that are worth taking a close look at. Fast block chains are more likely to have forks and longer ones, so this may not be the last time such code is useful.
