Are the mintpal people just fooling us to get btc for votes? Monday was supposed to get the top coin in the exchange, yet WATER has been stuck on the top of mintpal for a while now.
Makes me wonder if voting has any meaning at all.
Maybe its bittrex and poloniex we should be aiming for

I read somewhere that the watercoin guys weren't ready with their wallet or something like that, and asked for a postponed listing (not a smart move when you're about to be listed on one of the biggest exchanges...)

i am finding blocks like crazy, but way too may orpans is your wallet properly synced? Try setting up a conf file with the details from the OP. The extra nodes can help you stay up to date. If you're still having problems, try mining on a pool. I've been mining with about 11 mh/s solo for about a day now and haven't even found a single block. Pretty bad luck on my part but if I don't find any for the next day, I'll just go back to pool myself.

I am trying to login or deposit, but it's not working. Using chrome. +1 (Using Firefox) Hi Jackpot Coin, So I'm one of the dev's on this project. The code base is entirely fresh, I'm confident that our source is secure (that's been the priority), but we need input to help us tune the user experience. I think we should've worked out any bugs involved with login/deposits by this point so c'mon over and drop a couple JPC in to test that it's working, or if you're not comfortable depositing any of your own coin, just get on our chat and we'll be happy to rain a few on ya as a show of good faith. I'm new on Bitcoin forum but I'll be checking back regularly to respond to questions/comments or if our Dice Chat is working for you (no known cases to the contrary) that'll be the quickest way to get in touch with me.

Ive added the extra nodes I was missing... hopefully that will help. Thanks. Anyone mining with ATI 5970/5870 that could share their settings? I am thinking that I could probably get speeds than I am getting.

But when I check the jackpotcoin the diff is fine, between 40-50, so if your wallet is synced, then you should not see many orphans, with this diff you won't get a block every few seconds, unless you are in the process of sync'ing, then it is normal behavior.

i am finding blocks like crazy, but way too may orpans you are not alone... either some nods are messing the network, or the haspower is not propperly distributed and the network is abused with some pool having too much hashpower so blocks found by others are orphaned mostly... edit: based on the pool stats here: http://jackpotcoin.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=poolthe pool has 2GHs which is around 70% of the network which has 2.9GHs: http://explorer.jackpotcoin.info/stats/so there is probably the reason why others gets too many of orphans... that pool is basically running the network itself which is sad and ruining the coin.

Funny thing is that maybe the actual 'jackpot' is running counter-productive to what is good for the coin. Everyone wants to be in the huge pool to have a better shot at getting at least a slice of the actual jackpot when it hits... Maybe there needs to be some kind of cooldown on the same pool winning again for a certain number of blocks in order to get the miners to spread back out. 1 block cooldown for every 10,000 coins in the Jackpot won? that would be a 9,000 block 'timeout' for the 90mil coin jackpot.... Maybe that is a bit too severe, but after examination something could be developed that would balance the load out rather than make more want to go join that pool. Maybe some kind of diminishing returns on pools at the percentage of overall network hashrate goes up. I think the next big thing to be solved by a coin will be how to keep an even distribution of the mining pools and make it worth everyone's while to make that happen in an orderly fashion no matter what the overall speed is. Just talking out loud here... those are my thoughts.

Just talking out loud here... those are my thoughts. The pool owner closed registration I believe. I just happened to mine with them from the start since I had an account from their other pools, but I've since switched to solo. Sure being on the winning pool is nice, but if foolish greed ruins the coin, none of it matters anyway. You're absolutely correct, we need to look long term here! Greediness will only be shooting themselves in the foot here. Too many thinking about getting rich quick overnight, haha.
