i am finding blocks like crazy, but way too may orpans Huh
you are not alone...
either some nods are messing the network, or the haspower is not propperly distributed and the network is abused with some pool having too much hashpower so blocks found by others are orphaned mostly...

edit: based on the pool stats here: http://jackpotcoin.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
the pool has 2GHs which is around 70% of the network which has 2.9GHs: http://explorer.jackpotcoin.info/stats/
so there is probably the reason why others gets too many of orphans...
that pool is basically running the network itself which is sad and ruining the coin.

Funny thing is that maybe the actual 'jackpot' is running counter-productive to what is good for the coin.

Everyone wants to be in the huge pool to have a better shot at getting at least a slice of the actual jackpot when it hits...

Maybe there needs to be some kind of cooldown on the same pool winning again for a certain number of blocks in order to get the miners to spread back out.

1 block cooldown for every 10,000 coins in the Jackpot won? that would be a 9,000 block 'timeout' for the 90mil coin jackpot.... Maybe that is a bit too severe, but after examination something could be developed that would balance the load out rather than make more want to go join that pool.

Maybe some kind of diminishing returns on pools at the percentage of overall network hashrate goes up.

I think the next big thing to be solved by a coin will be how to keep an even distribution of the mining pools and make it worth everyone's while to make that happen in an orderly fashion no matter what the overall speed is.

Just talking out loud here... those are my thoughts. Smiley

i disagree entirely and the Jackpot in my opinion has been a positive factor.. WHY do i think that ?
simple.. look at the numbers.. on average the net hash rate has been 10 to 30 GH/s total
and that mininghubpool has when ever i looked been doing max about 2GH/s.
that is a very small percentage and that also goes against the usual Altcoin routine we all know so well..
i can show millions of examples where the entire network hash rate is all on one single pool.. such as Secure Coin. (SRC)

so the way i see it this coin solved a huge problem in the Altcoin scene where typically on all coins one pool dominates all others,
that obviously cause security problems etc.

and lets dig deeper..
i am on a bunch of other pools on and off on this coin and they have always since the coins release hovered around 250 mh/s
so that just reinforces my point even more.

I think it's pretty clear that most people are feeling a pressure to solo mine to collect the Jackpot all to them selves.

but hey a fun coin with massive innovation with superior security and a good following of healthy crypto users ?
ahh naw, lets add more scrypt color coins Cryptsy Mintpal Poloniex Bittrex mcxNow BTER etc etc..
THEY ARE FUCKING STUPID MORONS    ..period --> .

give em a good coin to add and yet AGAIN they play dumb about it and avoid and keep on adding horrible cancerous to the scene shit clone coins..
great job exchanges you should be proud of what your doing for Crypto  Roll Eyes

i already said before and i will say it again we need a REAL exchange in this scene that does a good job !
and not just adds shit coins to collect fee's on greedy scumbag Altcoin cancer heads, killing our scene supporting crappy clones blind folded.

Isn't it more energy efficient, and exciting? and network is more secured also.
Putting huge hashrate to coin and getting jackpot is an investment, not luck thing.

PoS looks better than PoW race I think.
Yeah, I certainly agree with that, it would be the first of its kind. Smiley

A new kind of coin, for a new era and age. Wink Pioneering its way through the rest.

when you compare what this coin has going for it compared to the average typical features of other popular new "clone" coins,
the features listed for Jackpot Coin is utterly staggering !

and if this was not true i would say so on the spot with out hesitation.. i call it as i see it.

I think that if the jackpot is made only for pos blocks , many people will have wallets up and runnig and everybody will have a better chance to win it , no matter what hashrate he have. And the pools will not overload. Grin

I think it's really good idea.
This will enhance the network, distribute coins not according to hash power.

Even one little cpu can join and win the prize.

Maybe some of them would run 100 wallets on one machine but nevertheless it looks good.
Actually running 100 wallets are nearly impossible  Smiley
CPU suffers a lot, harddisk blockchain storage needs x100, network bandwidth is limited.
As wallets will increase, probability will decrease much also.
I don't think anyone will run wallet like this for one month not receiving any jackpot.
They will give up soon.

In this way, it is real luck, unexpected jackpot for whom just run one wallet everyday life.

How about hardfork to this jackpot rule?
I really like this idea.

Nope, jackpot is only for PoW blocks, not for PoS blocks. PoS are simply interests, it does not have superblocks.

Yeah I know. So I am suggesting dev to hardfork to this new rule.
Only PoS finding jackpot seems much better.

Everybody can enjoy jackpot since everybody is equal.
Hashing power doesn't affect luck. It's just like lotto and real luck. Isn't it better?

This can't be equal, even with PoS you'd make the chance of winning be proportional to the coin-age to be fair. So those with more coins will have advantages. In this world, always rich people get an advantage...

Even in that case, it's much better than getting jackpot by hashing power race.

As I am running Mining Pool Hub, recent jackpot block finder was all top hashrate miners.

Probability says everybody "can" win the jackpot, but that probability is about the same as their hashrate.
Richer getting richer is world's rule, but with jackpot coin it is much more than you think.

This means, coin is not spread to normal people but only for big GPU farm people.
They just run GPU farm for money and they will dump at once.

How about spreading the coin to normal people, who runs wallet at office computer, who will really exchange or use coins in a long term.
They would run wallet in office working hours just hoping to find one jackpot someday.
The wallet runs as just little toy on system tray and someday it will find jackpot!

Isn't it more energy efficient, and exciting? and network is more secured also.
Putting huge hashrate to coin and getting jackpot is an investment, not luck thing.

PoS looks better than PoW race I think.

Hashpower or coins held, I don't see any differences. I like the superblock from PoW, this encourages people to mine.

Yeah, I agree with this too, that is the way to go. Smiley

I like it too, but the question is then, is a PoS network alone enough to power the network and keep the transactions fast?  I know the idea behind jackpot on PoW blocks was to keep the mining incentive there for the long run when block size goes down and difficulty goes up.  If it would work, that it would absolutely be the best fix.  People running full nodes (qt wallets) is always very important for a network too.

Only way is 100% jackpot goes to finder , that will scatter people from only one pool.

I agree.
I would like to switch mining pool hub to this rule.

Is there anyone who don't like this rule?
Tell me your thinkings.

If it is acceptable to hard fork jackpot blocks to PoS blocks, that would be ideal, but if not, then yes, absolutely do this please.  I'm currently a small miner on MPH but I've gone solo to try to help spread the hash.  Of course I've been happy winning jackpots as a part of the pool, but it's more important to keep our coin healthy.  This silly greed that some miners show will cause us all to simply be bag holders for monopoly (the board game) money  Grin

Yes, it will work.
Actually PoS blocks are found every 20 seconds, PoW blocks are found every 2 minutes.
PoS blocks does the immediate transaction function already.

Current PoW/PoS hybrid structure is extremely good for this situation I think.

actually i think it would make the coin more atractive if the jackpot is for PoS.
more ppl would install and run the wallet with some coins just to have the chance to get the jackpot.
but there could be also some set backs as mentioned already that ppl would run more wallets just to have bigger chance.
for that you do not need to run the QT many times, you can just have many addresses with few coins as each address has its own PoS, does not it?

Once the mining is gone, people will lose interests. Many pos only coins showed it. The current scheme with both pow and pos is the best.

I don't know how dev implemented PoS block finding probability.

Some of them says that PoS block finding probability gets higher if they have much coins.
I thought that block finding probability was just same for all, and get interest of coins according to coins they have.

Dev team would tell us how jackpotcoin is handling PoS.
