Asking serious question so if taken wrong please don't respond.

Has this coin been abandoned by the dev?

Just curious because for me the 1.5 version of wallet is still buggy as hell. Can't do nothing without it going into "(Not Responding)" anytime I click on anything. Takes forever to load and about 20 minutes just to get it to start staking because of it freezing up so much.

Does the 1.4.1 version still work or is that one on the wrong blockchain if I try and use it?

Thanks.

Read the changelog.. if there was a fork between versions you have to use the newer version.. see what i mean ?

And the feedback about CPU wallet usage is interesting guys (assuming you are all staking ? if your posting your usage percentage)

I may be wrong but I only seen that 1.4.1 was a required upgrade but not the 1.5. That is why I wanted to make sure before trying out that version again.

I didn't read that 1.5 was mandatory but maybe someone might still be using that version and weighed in.

Just being cautious.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

Hi
I'm using wallet version 1.4.1 and it works fine for me on a old core2duo. Cpu load is between 20 and 50%

Mine does that if it's behind and needs to sync, but after that it's fine on my Intel 4770k.  If you leave it open and synced all the time it's fine.  Also, if you send all your coins to a new wallet, then create a new wallet and send them back I believe it runs better.  I think if you have an active address from the start of the coin(or maybe from when it forked) it takes longer to do lots of things.  I could be crazy, but I think that's what I noticed a month ago when I was doing wallet maintenance.

Also, the dev hasn't abandoned the coin but he did mention one of the other devs left to work on other things a while ago.  I think he said that was why 1.6 was taking longer, but it was nearly done by that time and was going through bug testing stages, which now take longer of course.  Unlike devs that handhold everyone, they always seemed to pop up when there was news or updates, so give them(& the altcoin market) some time to pick up again and we'll see what happens.

Hi everyone,

as you may know, I'm not the dev, I'm just someone who helped maintain all social and marketing aspects. I would like to bring you some better news, but it seems the remaining dev has decided to move on too (all contacts are lost at the moment), so the coin now needs a take over.
Although I would like to move on too, I don't mind keeping working on it. I have enough coins to help promotion and a reboot, but a serious dev is needed to ensure a good future.
I'm awaiting for proposals and any help is welcome in finding motivated people to work on it.

the latest wallet uses 1 core for 100% almost all the time, so it depends how many cores you have.
for 8 core CPU it is like 13%.
do not know what the wallet is counting all the time.

I have a six core AMD 1100t. It usually uses about 6-13% on each core at any given time.

you need to set the CPU affinity for JPC wallet to only one core, then you see the real workload.

Is that through one of the tabs to do that or do have to use the console.?

uncle google has always the answer Wink

I own JPC coins, been here form the start and never sold a coin, sometimes I regreted it but I feel there is something special here so when I have sold a lot of other coins I always kept my JPC even when the price was at 88... I have mined, staked and bought and now have a nice amount which I hope will be worth more soon Wink

I can't do programming etc. my self but this coin interest me so I'm willing to pitch in and pay a bit for development of JPC.
Perhaps there is more people willing to do that?

Including myself, there are still many supporters who are willing to help.
Right now, we need to know what the dev really has in his mind.  We may never hear back from him again, but personally I trust him to do his best to finish at least the pending development.  We may still need to prepare some other options for the worst case, but I still want to wait some more time until hearing from the dev.

My point about the conf is you don't need one yet i see people handing out IP info all the time.
Try the simple stuff first !
And i find it hard to believe people can't connect like i said i have re-downloaded the block chain periodically and always end up with 16 connections
..with no conf

you guys realize a conf with with old nodes will NOT help you connect right ?
did you try checking what versions of the wallet each IP is using in your conf list ?
adding a list of outdated nodes will do far more harm than good.. but you all know this RIGHT ?

get rid of it then try it and maybe with a new wallet.dat file and see if it connects better and has lower usage maybe.
you guys are making things out to be way harder and worse sounding that it is.. and people say i am the drama queen LOL

get the .exe.. click it, done.
no .conf no this or that lol

and i have mine bouncing between 3 and 8% so i have no bloody idea what woudl cause yours to say 25%.. that is crazy high at least i think so on a 2500k ?

i ran the fucking .exce and get 3% or 8% bouncing back and forth in Task manager and never needed a conf before
so what the fuck is your problem all of you in the last 30 pages i have no bloody idea LOL
good luck with that my shit works fine and easy  Shocked  Grin  Cool

i HAVE caught bullshiters Trolling here by the way.. DO NOT FORGET THAT GUYS
I have lots of enemies and they LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to troll around following me starting shit.

EDIT:
Oh and by the way you can't judge the CPU usage until the Block chain is FULLY updated..
Don't gimme this it's updating and at 25% usage crap lol
Because duuuuuuuuh ..ALL wallets are high usage when updating block chain when it gets up over a gig etc.. AKA: common sense.

You are 1 condescending azzhat troll.  Now I remember why I had you on ignore before. Welcome back.

You'll never know what you're living for until you know what you're willing to die for.
Never look back, something might be gaining on you.

what about the anon-feature? did the previous devs already start with it? maybe a basic TOR feature can be implemented, which would show that the coin is not dead.

The anon features have been contemplated, yes, but were not firmly planned. At the moment, it's not the priority though.
We're still in need of a new dev.

Join forces with Infinitecoin. Contact Tecshare. That coin is in the deadzone too. Both were great ideas but are dying a slow death.

well, the current client still works great for me, so this coin is still alive and healthy. but I agree that it would be great to have a few new features and a dedicated team to make sure it will stay that way in the future.

Community is not large enough. Market Cap proves that. I like the concept of this coin but I seem to be in the minority.

With all those alt coins around, many people are afraid to invest in a coin when there is no 24/7 dev support. Even with JPC, which still works great and super fast. The good thing is, that there is nothing broken which needs to be fixed, so we can wait a little and hope that a new dev can be found.
