Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick?

Gold has massive network effect, that's all. Other than that, Bitcoin is better in every sense. Gold is annoying to carry, it deteriorates with time, it can be confiscated by governments... it's a mess.

It all depends on the time frame. Anything material deteriorates with time, but I think that poster meant something other. That is, that gold coins and gold bars wear out (read lose mass and value) with usage and exposure to the environment...

But gold, indeed, doesn't change (unless you plunge it into aqua regia, of course)

Ive got gold sovereigns over 125 years old that are pretty much spot on weight wise so I dont think we have to worry about that too much.

yeah, there is such a website though i never use it to be honest because bitcoin is way better than gold in my opinion as you can make way more money with it over time

Both are good as an investment, and it depends on an individual with which he is more comfortable, bitcoin is good for short term profits and gold can take care in long run.

I believe bitcoins are both good in short and long term investment, if you are a trader you can make money betting on the price fluctuation while if you are a long term investor you will benefit on the rise of price of bitcoins in the long run.

yeah that is right, I am using both the methods, I have my bitcoin and they will be with me for longer and in the meantime I do trade with it so with that I get both the profits, the value increase and the quantity increase of the bitcoin also.

That is a great method to increase the amount of bitcoin in our wallet, without trade we will see our money increasing with the increase in the value of bitcoin but the amount of bitcoin will be the same as it in our wallet. so while holding our coins we also have to trade with them.

well gold has much more stable prices than bitcoins to be honest though i doubt that it is a better currency because with bitcoins you can make more money in a shorter run i think

what you say is only the case of those who want to buy thousands of dollars worth of gold and keep it in their home in form of gold bars. but you can always invest in gold by purchasing jewleries or there is a website (i don't recal the name) that you can buy it from a legit place and don't get the physical gold but only have it in their safe and only invest in it and take the profit out.

If you know how to get gold, gold may be easier for most people, the same applies fif you know bitcoin you know how easy it is go get it.
For me however that is not important, if you pick 1 of them profit is important and bitcoin has a excellent profit ratio.

Right now we can say the gold is more precious that bitcoin because it has been proven for a long time and bitcoins is just an internet money with no physical value, but with the help of the majority of the bitcoin believers, anything could happen as we are in the digital world era.

It is just a matter on how the majority has seen this bitcoin even if it is just an internet money but if they see this as a sign of freedom that they can use bitcoin to transact in a decentralized system they will treat this one as a gold.

gold being here for thousands of years doesn't mean it's more precious than bitcoin. and in fact it isn't as gold basically has an unlimited supply that will come above ground in the coming years and the hundreds of years after that. another important thing is that the current gold stash of the world that is made publicly, is not even half of what governments and institutions from different countries have in hidden storage.
