Development Update

Our next major feature will be a built-in music player. We are going to expand on ROXCoin's visions.
This music/media player would be the first step towards SaffronCoin's decentralized/P2P music sharing.

We will be adopting Blockchain 2.0 i.e. Sidechains for all our decentralized services including SFRDirect. Using the existing Blockchain for other P2P features like some other coins is not optimal because the Bitcoin Developers call that to be "spamming" the blockchain.
So a Sidechain can host a variety of services without interrupting the original chain.

Our next wallet could be out in a week's time. Some members requested some extra essential features such as Wallet Update notifications and a currency convertor for SFR in BTC and Fiat.

Will have all these in the next wallet!

SFR keeps getting better and better.

yes it does gotta love this coin

I've made a new .deb for Ubuntu LTS 14.4 and an ubuntu repo!

To install and keep up to date you have to add this line into /etc/apt/sources.list :
Code:
deb http://ownzen.fr/ubuntu/packages/i386/ /

Then :
Code:
sudo apt-get update && apt-get install saffroncoin-qt-mt

This will install the saffroncoin multitasking wallet into /usr/bin/saffroncoin-qt and all its dependencies!
Just search "saffron" into menu and click the icon Cheesy

If all goes well, when next wallet will be released, you will just have to type :
Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install saffroncoin-qt-mt
And the wallet will be updated!

I've added as well a menu icon Smiley.

Let me know if it works for you!

Debian specific DEB package is more difficult to compile, because the stable version does'nt have QT5 and the MT wallet required it.
If someone want it, I can make it but it will be only for Debian SID users Sad

Dev can you add it to the website and the first post?
It will be great if you can create a page that explain how to get SFR MT Wallet on Ubuntu? Smiley

This seems a bit silly with all the crazy features being discussed and added.....but has it been considered adding into the wallet, the value of the total Saffron based on the highest buy order?

Just thought that would be cool, to open up your wallet and see how much your holdings are worth.

You mean total value in BTC? Yea some others also suggested that. Will be adding it.

mais pièces sont t'il toujours valable avec le nouveaux porte monnaie ?

merci de votre aide.

(In french)

Salut,

Minor correction. Devs are updating their post, it will create more confidence. Plus the OP hasnt been udpated yet, so there are plenty more features coming up in the next week onwards, leading up to SFRDirect.

Price at Cryptsy 5k sat, Bittrex 2700 sat, almost double. Who is the idiot desperately keeping SFR's price that low at bittrex ? Whale manipulation ?

Future feature ideas:

1. Automated Currency Send - the ablility to automate when coins are sent. Would allow sheduling of one or more transactions to be set in advance.

Ex. A user wants to send five payments in sucession to five different addresses, or allow the ability to send a regular monthly payment.

2. Multi-Signature(If 2FA is not feasible) - Would provide extra security for a wallet, or providing security for a mult-user account.

Ex. A user wants more security for an individual wallet, or a transaction needs a consensus to be sent.

Just throwing them out as they come...

Cryptsy volume is extremly low :/ and price was dumped at 3300+

If manipulation that's almost good for buying low on bittrex and sell high on cryptsy then rebuy more on bittrex... Etc.
That's probably what whales do,  I think

Humm do you think the p2p music integration could trigger music content owners to react negatively that could legally jeopardize other great decentralized ideas that the team is implementing? no sense in picking a fight that disrupts other one of a kind integrations ur doing.!!!!

glad I found this coin, great team business orientated and thinking application and usable. not just because its possible... the side chain hasn't been explored as a p2p platform for expansion. glad you talk about it and do so with minimal hype. It is not exactly Music Sharing like torrents. In an earlier post I have posted about an IBM ad, and such a technology decentralized can be very useful and could lay a foundation for greater things to come. We wouldn't allow complete media transfer because then the nodes would have to download the media and that could bloat the blockchain hugely.

Sidechains are the future of the Bitcoin Protocol. The biggest centralized service/websites you see today will one day be decentralized and will be running of sidechains of cryptos.

That is why we are focusing on this thinking about the future and looking to build various apps/services not on the original blockchain but on a sidechain.
