hello
so i have 2700 nxt sins 2 month now
forging is enable   but  forging balance = 0     so how long to get reward ?

where can we see details about forging because i can't find that

Well, 2700 is a very small stake. It will forge something, maybe once or twice a year.

Check out the calculator... https://www.mynxt.info/forging_calculator.php

you need a substantially greater amount of NXT to forge successfully. you COULD forge a block, but it's very unlikely. the algo details are somewhere on the nxtforum if you're curious

Guys we need an attractive NXT casino fast, like https://nxtbubble.com was.

TwinWinNerD is selling that site with the script for the game, if somebody wants to buy it from him and set it up again, it can boost NXT's acceptance.

Here is my logic: https://nxtforum.org/nxt-promotion/nxt-revitalization-plan/msg204430/#msg204430

Is he actually selling it?

I pm'ed him and he said yes.

Leasing your balance to a forging pool can be profitable if you lease a big enough balance.

You can learn a lot at the nxt wiki.

Argh, it needs Adobe Flashplayer to be viewable. I deinstalled this plugin since of security reasons.
The creators of this magazine should really switch to HTML5 or other open technologies.

You can install it back and install no-script plugin, that way it blocks flash on pages you dont want to, and enable it when you desire.

Who can break an Nxt Coin Shuffling? We will be holding Shuffling Sundays on testnet again, but this time the goal is to find a way to break a shuffling and get away with it! Now that the source code is released, everyone is invited to dig in, find an exploitable loophole, and get a bounty.

Time for a swift kick......if anyone feels like testing (and preferably breaking) the Nxt CoinShuffle feature, come on down !

Shuffling Sunday II: Sabotage !

https://nxtforum.org/news-and-announcements/shuffling-sunday-!-%28testing-nrs-1-7-2e-coinshuffle-13-12-2015-%29/

There is a bounty pool of at least 50,000 NXT available to participatiing testers, and we'll be running Shuffling Sunday testing both today and next week, 17 Jan.

Happy New Year to all the BitcoinTalk crew, btw !

Thanks for the help with Shuffling Sunday, people. We, again, got lots of testing done, but so far no nasty exploits found.(Sadly)
If anyone wants to seriously have a go at breaking the Nxt CoinShuffle feature, and earning some nice bounties in the process, we may run another Shuffling Sunday (the third so far) on the 17th Jan, just before the 1.7.4 hardfork at block 621,000.

Which brings me to:

Nxt 1.7.4 update: new features and a hard fork (!) at block 621,000

http://jnxt.org/countdown/?block=621000

(click for the real countdown timer)

The current Nxt client software NRS (Nxt Reference Software) 1.7.4 was released at the start of this month.
It contains a number of new features and changes that will be activated once Nxt reaches block 621,000, in about 10.5 days time.
This release is the culmination of a lot of work over the last few months, and will no longer be compatible with older releases (ie anything from NRS 1.6.x and below).

For ordinary end-users this update will not be a big issue, simply ensure that you have updated your server/node software to the latest 1.7.4 version:
https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-7-4/
preferably before the hardfork block. People running older versions of the NRS after the hard fork block passes will find themselves on an invalid chain, and will be ignored by the majority 1.7.4 network.
See here for realtime details of the Nxt network:

http://www.peerexplorer.com/

As you can see, of the current 263 Nxt nodes online, 161 are running NRS 1.7.4, a substantial majority.

For people who are running an Nxt-based project (or a system that uses the Nxt API, like exchanges), the situation is slightly more complex as there have been API changes made in the step from NRS 1.5.15 to NRS 1.6.2. This means that if you have already successfully upgraded to 1.6.2/3, the upgrade to 1.7.4 will be simple as there are no substantial API changes to consider.
However, people who need to update from 1.5.15 will probably need to make code changes to accomodate these API changes.

All of the info on these API changes, and on the new features that will be implemented can be found here:

https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-6-2/

https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-7-4/

We've already posted this information on multiple fora/social media, and directly mailed it to most Nxt-based projects/exchanges with the NRS 1.6.3 release, but it can't do any harm to remind everyone.
As ever, if you have any questions, post here, ask on the Nxt forum, or give our recently created helpdesk a try:

Thank you for the report, ED. Most third-party services are already prepared for the fork as far as I know, and personally I'm really liking the release even before most of the new features and improvements kick in.

This version is a very solid job, guys. Thanks to all.

I'd like to babble on about an idea to increase nxt usage towards the mainstream.

The reward economy.

This particular idea is NXTercise

NXTercise combines a fit tracker with NXT, and rewards you with some form of token on the NXT platform.

Possible uses.
1. A Mom and dad could load some value on the fit tracker that releases(rewards) the (out-of-shape) user(kid) once x amount of exercise preformed.

2. Coming soon, or you make one up. Wink

This idea is credited to my inlaws who since christmas have gotten a fit tracker. And have performed extra movements, such as extra stairs because it rewarded them with some type of point. This point made them happy enough to do more stairs. Lol ok, humans like to be rewarded for easy behavior.

Tldr. Mainstream needs a reward economy, even if it is only symbolic.

Yep, gamification, badges, titles. Sharing your achievements to social media. Remember Foursquare? People wanting to be the mayor of a bus stop? Smiley
