We are still in an early beta and we haven't even started an advertising campaign and you're already talking about stagnation or loss of supporters The current users of a Node is pioneers, "salt of the earth", may be the most advanced part of cryptocommunity who versed in crypto technology and its evolution and who is able to see a few steps ahead. We build long-term system, it's not a lottery and not MLM, it's a global payment system with a certain niche in the market of money transfers. In 2013 customers paid $ 260 billion as comission for credit card transactions. Currency exchange market has a volume $ 5 trillion per day (for comparison, the market USD/BTC is still very small - only $ 10 million (or 500,000 times less). If we will get 1-2% of that market during next couple of years it will be a good start for us. So now you have the opportunity to support the system and get a reward at the initial stage. In the future "time forging" for network support will be available only for Master Nodes - everybody can run it, but the requirements for the connection and server will be high - 24/7 high speed connection and 10,000+ open ports. The rest will receive bonuses only for the usage of network for its intended purpose - as a payment system. Not to be a downer but, This is not the only currency trying to fill that niche and if there is ZERO incentive to support the network then it will not happen. I support many networks and have to prioritize those. This has fallen off my support list and will stay there unless I see a light at the end of the tunnel. And with this attitude towards the pioneers as you put it then I do not see a future here and I think the price is reflecting that. You can think what you wish but every prediction I have made has come true. Feel free to check my history if you wish. Don't worry, it'll be ok. Personally I think once they have this figured out, NODE being a Node.js based coin actually could be more useful towards web stores and web applications in general since it uses a coding language that has been specifically designed for fast network implementation and the user's web experience in mind. I would worry if there was no word from the team, but so far they have kept us up to date and try to answer all concerns.

A question: For 10,000 simultaneous connections (I suppose, not ports) what limitations of cpu/core, RAM you anticipate? Besides the obvious ones related to network infrastructure (switches, etc.)

So this sounds - again - different than what has been told before so I'll - again - try to understand it. Up until now i thought that ANY node could become a masternode, i.e. there is no fixed set of masternodes like there is in e.g. darkcoin. This quote however sounds like there is going to be a fixed set of masternodes. So what is it ? Will there be a fixed set of masternodes or can ANY node be at some point selected to be a masternode (which i thought was all the fancy neural network talk was about) ?

I understand that it's not a fixed number of Master Nodes. Master Nodes just must to meet certain conditions. ANY node can be at some point selected to be a Master Node, but under certain conditions - what is reasonable. You can not put a Mercedes engine in a Trabant bodywork.

Node.js is very thrifty in resource usage, so as I said below the only important parameters for a Master Node (or Main Node) is fast internet connection and open ports. Today, the average server is able to hold up to 100,000 ports open. You even don't need dedicated server for $30+ for it, so Linux VPS Server for $6-7 would be more than enough for 24/7 stable work of Master Node with 10,000 open ports, so it will be available to every noder.

Right. ANY PERSON can run Master Node, but not ANY CLIENT can serve as the Master Node (10,000 of open stable connections).

Exactely. In few days we will release the special Manual, so everyone will be able to run 24/7 online Node client at inexpensive Linux hosting.

Right. ANY PERSON can run Master Node, but not ANY CLIENT can serve as the Master Node (10,000 of open stable connections). I think you missed my point or rather I'm still not sure I understand your system. Any person can run a master node, okay I got that. Say 300 people run masternodes and there are 10 000 nodes in total i.e. 300 masternodes and 9 700 "normal" nodes. Those 300 masternodes would then do all the validation of transactions and pump out blocks while the rest of the nodes i.e. the 9 700 nodes are just nodes that broadcast tx and recieve blocks but can't do any validation. Is that about right ?

I think BTC is being pushed down to later pump it up. I told about 1 or 2 weeks ago it could go to 280usd. But 240.. well. who knows? It's just matter of time. Its a great moment for whales to buy cheap BTC and later pump it to sky. Big players are coming into bitcoins and they want to control them all. Making people panic sell is a good way to do it.
