Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Node Signature Campaign

We all have seen the potential Node has to offer with prices reaching over 300 satoshi months ago.  However, we are all aware of the lack of advertisement.  I have been corresponding with TheRealSilk to release a series of marketing campaigns for Node and I will be managing them.

In the past, Nodes were offered in return for posting about Node on social media, this promotion will take a bit of a different approach.  As rewards for the previous promotion were rather small, not too many people actually participated.  We plan on offering a more generous reward for a more complicated task.  We have a very poplar thread Bitcointalk, however we have failed to reach other forums about Node.   Your task will be to post a promotional thread for Node, and wear one of our Node signatures for one week on any crypto-related forum.

PART 1:
The first segment of this marketing campaign will be a graphic design contest.

We want to reach out to you guys to create the best looking signature for us to use in other forums.  We plan on creating a page dedicated to Node promotional material for you guys to help spread the word.

*Be sure to highlight Instant Transactions!

If we choose your signature to promote Node you will receive 15,000 Nodes.  (We may choose more than one)
Best overall signature will receive 30,000 Node.

Post the signatures you make in the thread and also PM me a copy.

We will be deciding the winners next Friday!

Thanks,
CryingMidget

May need more time? Maybe 2-3 weeks?
I personally will reward the signatures from own funds:
1. 30,000 Nodes
2. 20,000 Nodes
3. 10,000 Nodes

He has a point there, dev made it seem like NODE was way ahead than it really is. He shouldn't have said NodePay was being launched, all we got is a simple website template.

So basically dev has nothing but a few algorithm changes to the wallet, and even the wallet needs huge improvements.

I apologize to anyone that might have been misled by my attempt at helping with marketing, I didn't know how far behind all of this was and that we are not even close to what we were led to believe.

NodePay is working perfect. It's a service for webmasters and shops that allow them to accept payments in NODE.

If you don't know how to use it - it's you problem. But saying that it's just simple website template.. omg. Just think twice before accusing Node team next time.

I tested it myself.

IMO you owe an apology to Silk.

P.S. TaunSew never has a point. I thought it was clear for everybody with brains.

Well I would much rather get this promotion on it's feet than wait 2-3 weeks for someone to maybe post a good signature.

I want to get this promotion started as soon as possible.  The signature design contest is just the first phase.

The next phase will involve actually using the signature on other forums.

I think what I will do is accept signatures for the entire duration of the project and if you want to participate, you can choose whichever sig you like the most.

maybe that example can highlight the communication problem: I wasn't even aware that this is possible!

edit: I am not a webmaster, and no I didn't sign up. But neither did I complain about slowness of node project development  Wink

I think we really need a Node Forum.

In this thread many ideas are lost or ignored in hundreds of pages of posts.  Nobody can find useful information with this.

With a Forum we could make usergroups such as "Forger" for people over 500,000 Nodes so we would know who really has money in the game.

Also, we could open up a marketplace where people can buy/sell in Node.  This will increase our overall transactions and amount forged by us aswell as promoting the use of Node.

A forum will give us the option to focus more on individual topics rather than changing subject multiple times a day in this thread.

This will give us the communication we need.

Let's face it. We have at most 10 people active here. I think it's too early for a forum. There is Support&Feedback module built in inside the client. Why not share ideas there?

Well the underlying problem is that posting one thread is a horrible way of displaying information.  Even if a forum is inactive, it will still be more beneficial to the community since people will easily be able to share ideas without being swallowed up by the massive amount of responses in this thread.

People will more easily be able to access announcements, promotions, and what's going on with Node.

In the thread, it is very hard to gather any useful information about Node without skimming through all these posts...

In fact most people are even unaware that node has instant transactions. Or doesn't believe it, like I saw once in NEM's thread. Somebody, please take care of simple advertising and presentation using good English! Starting with this signature. Previous signature said "faster than BTC transactions" or smth like that. What could be worse?

Hi, everyone!

It's been awhile, hasn't it?!

Everyone ok, healthy, still living the dream?!

I'm pretty much sure, that everyone has the same question: Where have you been???!!!  Grin

But before answering, i would like to take my time to thank all of you for believing in Node and supporting Silk in his quest!

From my perspective, this community is strong, because without the necessary elements it still holds it toghether the project is still growing and we have more and more "To DOs" on the list!

Thank you guys,  i'm writing this on behalf of our entire team, and let me point out that we appreciate the effort and time you've dedicated to our small Plan To Conquer the world!

So, what happened!

I was absent for 3 different reasons:

- Work! - Luhansk Conflict - Girlfriend!

I will start with the worst, a friend of mine, originating from Luhansk, had a terrible experience with the terrorism in the region. Back in december the situation was ok,  well not ok, but acceptable. His family, quite old parents remained in the region only because they didn't want to trouble their only son, who was renting a two bedroom apartment with his girlfriend. The electricity was shut almost every night for a period of 2-3 weeks, water and gas had the same issues. Almost all nearby store where closed, they had to go kilometres to the nearest one. For them, it was hell on earth. But still they insisted in living that way (stubborn old people). But in one night, some ass hole threw a grenade on their balcony (2d floor), but thanks to the open space, it only damaged the windows and some furniture in the room, thank god they were sleeping in the next room... that was it! Misha (the son) did not resist, and together with me and 2 other friends we went all the way to Luhansk to help his folks move... it was a long trip... the view out there was worse than on the news...
Sad story ended good, They are now reunited and everything is ok, the only thing that suffered post this event was their memories!

After that experience and all we've been through, i decided to take a brake, at the same time my contract with Skill has expired, so i had some time for myself. I moved with my girlfriend, and since it was a new house, we didn't have internet connection for a while so i remained completely shut.

Due to lack of continuous distraction (not having internet for a while brings you countless possibilities  Roll Eyes ) i started a local project which ended up beyond my expectations! Thanks to that little off-grid, i met tons of people from different industries, which in result gave birth to new ideas. People in my region are getting more involved with the notion of bitcoin, the numbers are growing, and this makes me happy. When i first spoke about the concept of bitcoin and Node as a whole like a year ago... i was feeling alone... but a year later people started to perceive better the same information i was talking in the past - and yes, by people i mean those humanoids that are over 30 and still believe in the TV!
I though them how to use bitcoin, trade it and keep it safe. In result i found new partners for my next projects, but i'll keep that for later.

But there you have it, you can dedicate 100% to something, but it means to pass on something else.

In my case, i wasn't so active with Node's Community, but now i'm back!!!

But you know, i didn't want to come empty handed, so this is my deal with you forum:

There is a guy, he's name is Chris Dunn, he is a professional trader. He trades: E-minis, Stokes, Bitcoin and others...

I've been following him on twitter, for the last 8 months, and i acknowledged his dedication, he is a PRO when it comes to trading.

I've been trading (experimenting) with bitcoin on btc-e, sometimes i nail it sometimes i don't, i bet you have seen me in the TrollBox! But this guy knows how to make a trade. Sometimes he posts bitcoin predictions on twitter, and thanks to them i made like 10% to 20% on some of my trades.
He has a very good prediction rate about 80% are accurate!

Earlier this year, he created a Bitcoin school/course/group - Bitcoin Trading Academy. He gathered a limited # of people that he is teaching how to trade bitcoin from scratch.
What does this mentoring include:
- How To Webinars
- Organizing Q&A sessions!
- And most important Trade Alerts!!! - he'll tell us where is the market going.

He started to enroll people again, the service includes:

Bitcoin Trading Academy Platinum Mentoring Program
  • Bitcoin Basics- Foundation & Mastery Modules,
  • On-Going Trading Video Lesson Library,
  • 8 Part Live Webinar Series,
  • Live Group Interaction,
  • Webinar Library (12 Months Access To Live Trade Alerts, Weekly Market Forecast Reports, Priority Email Access)

Unfortunately for me, he charges 990$ ~ 4.42 btc for this service! And that is too much for my budget, i know it worth it, and it will recover fast, but i just can't afford it at the moment!

After an hour long conversation with Skill we decided to take a different approach, and to split the cost with the community!

How will this work out?

We would like to participate in this Mentoring Program and we are looking for people to chip in, and help us cover the cost. We'll buy one entry and we'll share the information to all the persons who participated in the fundraise. Basically all the interaction will be through email and their trading dedicated board. We'll setup an email that will redirect all the information and Trade alerts to all the participants, and other info will be posted on an separate blog/site.

How many can participate in the fundraiser?

Since we all are committing a crime, it doesn't matter how many! The more the merrier and cheaper!

If 10 people participate each will have to pay .44btc for a year of Trade Alerts from a professional trader!
If 20 than its .22btc, you got the idea.

So far we are two people on Board: Me and Silk, and I will be extremely happy if you guys decide to participate!
