freenode or something else?

freenode

Now that he isn't anonymous how about moving to the actual, moderated Naut IRC?

As a matter of principle, I don't go to places where opinions can be censored, thank you.

troll much?

Really? from a Jr. member too... perhaps you should grow up a bit. Perhaps.

wow you just blew my mind comparing yourself to him based on membership length wow just wow

Well ya don't say...

Well we seem to have found the bottom for now, but the price didn't need any help to go all the way down to 8500. From this forum or any other.

Perhaps what it would help is to face up to the FACTS and, maybe, understand why a decline of over 2/3s of the price can happen on, theoretically, no news.

The fact that Brian Kelly has hired a dev who happens to be a reject of the attempted-to-be-overtaken scam coin Liberty, may have played a part, I don 't know. Like I presume you and others I'm trying to make some sense of it and, since I just bought near the supposed bottom, I am way more interested -or at least as much- as anyone else here or anywhere in it to rebound as high as possible as quick as possible. It is simply that I do not believe that pretending that what has happened -and still happens- hasn't happened, is of any help in that regard.

You, obviously, do. And by gosh, you are entitled.

Today, my investment in NAUT reached the epic loss of 33%.

Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund

Minus fiftyseven percent.

Wow.

What is a stabilization fund?
I guarantees that the price will not go below zero Satoshi.

Come on, take money you earned with your TV career, and please buy back my coins. This is ridiculous.

Now now, you are here in this chapel and you are supposed to be quite happy about the events of the day, good karma and all that you know. This is the future you are talking about. What if you lost a few (hundreds or even thousands of) dollars, it's the future that counts. And this is going to revolutionize the world so what does it matter if you just had to endure a temporary loss, you should actually be happy because you lost what you could lose, otherwise you shouldn't have invested in the future to begin with...

You know it is the new paradigm: You not only lose, you have to be and post happy about your loss.

Otherwise you will be "fudding", you know...

This was easily one of the best threads to read up on and post in, there was no bickering, now things have taken a turn it seems.

Can we quit arguing and get back to figuring out this whole POS transition and more?

"We"? who, the community? This is BK's coin. And BK has hired "Bitsa" to be the dev of the POS.

Now, BK is a veteran of crypto and NAUT is supposed to be the fruit of all that experience. Initially, if I have it correct, NAUT was not going to be POS but now BK has decided that it will be (feel free to correct me when I am in error, please). And now, after the coin has lost between half and 2/3s of its value of earlier today, are we, the community, supposed to cook out the "transition and more"? OK...

I'll add the little that I know: "Bitsa" seems to be a "for hire" developer that apparently was rejected by Gatti and Shogun47 in their botched attempt to get Libertycoin away from Carlor Torres Ferguson, the Mexican scam dev of Libertycoin -and many others scam coins-. Apparently, "Bitsa" didn't know how to operate the coin in practical terms for the attempt was only that, a failed attempt. And, ultimately, he just wanted money. Which is quite legitimate when you work and are capable of doing the job you are hired to do.

It seems BK has deemed "Bitsa" capable of doing not just the "transition" but to actually be the dev of the POS part of NAUT. And BK should know, doesn't he? So we, the community, are suppose to "figure out" something? It looks to me that we are left with two very clear options: Either remain invested in NAUT and hope it rebounds and diminishes with it the losses OR we may cut those and just leave.

But that is just me thinking, of course.

I honestly don't know the Bitsa backstory but have been patiently waiting for POS.  I am more than willing to wait as long as when it is implemented it works correctly.
It does suck to see the value drop that much but at the same time made it a much easier decision to buy more.
I can see this thing rebounding, so I am not too concerned with the short term fluctuation.

It was going great until today, understandable but complaining isn't helping anymore.

Dev is away but we can investigate later and others are willing to step in.

BK told us he wanted it complete by thursday, it was actually tuesday so I guess we're close.

We still have things to do in the meantime so we should focus on that.

We want to be ready for POS with at least one multipool and that's just for starters.

The delay might not end up being such a bad thing if we use this time constructively.

I am not one to cry FUD at every bit of criticism or legitimate concern a person may have, but there comes a point where one must realize the meaning of the phrase "self fulfilling prophecy" holds a lot of weight in these forums. There is a good portion of weak hands that can and do sometimes mortally wound a coin's momentum based solely on a few posts in a coin's thread. Welcome to crypto.

Nothing to comment about the loss of 2/3s or market cap in a couple hours?

I have no idea who sold or why.  I suspect folks are as frustrated as me - the primary difference is I have been buying over the last 24 hours. The larger buy orders on the exchanges are either me personally or the NSF.

That's awesome to hear, but at some point might it not be better to use some of that BTC for bounties on new projects instead? How about a multipool and iOS- and Android wallets while we wait for the dev to finish? Maybe even hire a new dev, as this one probably is in over his head to be honest? There's been several recommendations in this thread about really competent people, and the Digibyte team especially offered to help.

So now we have barabbas and his alter egos who joint us here on the Nautiluscoin thread.

Barabbas is an expert in publicity ( positive and negative ) in the altcoin scene IMHO.
I think he is an beter option then the self choosen promotors that are trying to do the job.

However his expertice doesn't come cheap....but I am sure he can get NAUT to new record highs
