I don't think he is a single person. Must be groups of big Powerful organization.
Yes I'm sure so, bitcoin is a very complicated and complex thing that can not be made just one head, I'm sure there are at least 10 people who make bitcoin and Mr. Nakamoto is a great actor who is not alone.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I hate to disagree but Satoshi Nakamoto is a single person, because if "he" is a groups of organization, then probably they are easily to find, but the truth is not. I'm not 100% sure about this but satoshi nakamoto is just a man, that is why he vanished into thin air because he knows that bitcoin would be this famous for him to hide his identity for his own good, you know this world, if someone envies your work too much, they will do anything just to extract every important important information to yours before they kill you, something like that.

i am not sure satoshi nakamoto is alone even i see it is a group name, i am also amazed to see what he made up to this time is really big, just waiting time maybe he came back at a really good time

Almost 10 years have passed and we haven't seen any evidence to prove that Satoshi Nakamoto is alive. I don't know what happened to him, but the chances that he will come back some time in the future is close to zero. I am 90% sure that this individual is no longer alive.

You forgot the sub-sub scenarios, the branching scenarios, alternate scenarios, and possible mixed, merged, and parallel scenarios.  The Satoshi conspiracy theories never end and never get tired.  Someone always comes up with a new one.

Hello I made some research for you! I

Don't be lazy to read this! Hope you like it.

Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?

We Look at The Possible Candidates

Bitcoin was conceived as a communal project. Designed as an open-source software and released to the public in 2009, Bitcoin was conceived with openness in mind. Functioning on an open ledger that is accessible to the public, Bitcoin is an open-source project. But for all its openness, one grand mystery remains unsolved:

Who Created Bitcoin and Who exactly is Satoshi Nakamoto?

Satoshi was heavily involved with the Bitcoin community, and collaborated with them in order to modify the underlying bitcoin protocol. After two years of involvement, Nakamoto handed the reins to Gavin Andresen, and seized involvement with the Bitcoin project in December of 2010. Then, in the Spring of 2011, Nakamoto returned to leave a final message, stating in a post that he had “moved on to other things,” and that Bitcoin was “in good hands with Gavin [Andresen] and everyone.” That was the last the world heard of the secretive Bitcoin creator.

The mystery behind Nakamoto’s identity has only grown, as the Bitcoin community eagerly speculates who it could potentially be. Satoshi Nakamoto claims to be Japanese, born on April 5, 1975. It is unknown whether Nakamoto is male or female, or whether Nakamoto is even a single person or a group of individuals.

Is He British?

While Nakamoto’s identity remains unknown, This has not stopped enthusiasts from investigating his background and drawing up conclusions. Nakamoto’s use of perfect English in his posts and his publication of the White Paper has raised skepticism as to his Japanese origin. Furthermore, his occasional use of British English in the code and comments has fueled speculation that he is a native English speaker of commonwealth origin. Additionally, Stefan Thomas, a Swiss coder and active member in the Bitcoin community, graphed the time stamps of Nakamoto’s more than 500 posts, showing his or her complete absence of posts between midnight am and 6 am Greenwich Time, further informing investigators as to his potential whereabouts.

Nick Szabo

To date, there are several potential individuals suspected of being the mysterious Bitcoin creator. One of the first suggestions was Nick Szabo, a decentralized currency enthusiast who published a paper on “bit gold” considered to be a precursor to the first cryptocurrency. Running a reverse textual analysis, internet researcher Skye Grey found dozens of unique phrases that linked Szabo’s writing style to that of the original White Paper. This evidence is only circumstantial, however, and Szabo has repeatedly denied that he is the creator of Bitcoin.

Nakamoto

Another possibility is a Japanese American man living in California, named Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto, birth name Satoshi Nakamoto. First brought up in a March 2014 Newsweek article, Leah McGrath Goodman pointed to Nakamoto’s training as a physicist at Cal Poly University in Pomona and libertarian background as potential indicators of his identity. Her biggest piece of evidence was his response to a question regarding Bitcoin: “I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it. It’s been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection.” This led to a wild media frenzy, which even included a car chase. However, in a later interview, he recanted his previous position, stating that he had misunderstood the reporter’s question, thinking it was related to his previous classified work as a military contractor.

Hal Finney

Hal Finney is another potential candidate to be the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto. Finney was a pre-bitcoin cryptographic pioneer and was only the second person – after Nakamoto himself – to make use of the software, file bug reports, and suggest improvements.

Furthermore, he was the first to ever receive Bitcoin, stating in an interview that “ [he] was the recipient of the first bitcoin transaction, when Satoshi sent ten coins to [him] as a test.”

Forbes journalist Andy Greenberg speculated after requesting aid from writing analysis consultancy Juola & Associates that Greenberg may have been the ghostwriter for Satoshi Nakamoto. Further adding to the speculation that Finney was involved with the creation of Bitcoin was his correspondence with the aforementioned Nick Szabo, and the fact that he lived only blocks apart from Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto. At the time of his death on August 28, 2014, only circumstantial evidence pointed to Hal Finney being the original Satoshi Nakamoto.

Craig Wright

Yet another possible contender to be Satoshi Nakamoto is the Australian academic, computer engineering expert, and entrepreneur, Craig Wright. In early November of 2015, Gizmodo received an anonymous email from an individual stating that not only did he know that Craig Wright was the creator of Bitcoin, but that he had also worked for him. On December 9, hours after Wired certified that Wright was indeed Nakamoto, the Australian Federal Police raided his home, and afterwards stating the “[the] matter is unrelated to recent media reporting regarding the digital currency Bitcoin.” Afterwards, Wright deleted his internet presence until May of 2016, when he stepped forward and revealed himself on Twitter as the creator of the digital currency Bitcoin, and claimed he had the proof to back up his statement. Then, amid a torrent of skepticism, Wright retracted his statement and did not offer the “extraordinary proof” he claimed to have, stating that he did “not have the courage” to prove his identity.

Satoshi Nakamoto Net Worth

In an era where information is widespread, Satoshi Nakamoto has managed to maintain his identity a complete secret. So why is uncovering Nakamoto’s identity so important? If Nakamoto is indeed a single individual, then he or she owns approximately 5% of the world’s Bitcoin supply, placing him or her as the 52nd richest person in the world as of December 12th14.

The implications of this wealth are considerable, beyond even the real world implications. If Satoshi Nakamoto were ever to sell the rumored 980,000 Bitcoins in his or her possession ( currently worth over $16 billion at today’s price, as of 5th Jan 2018 ), the price of Bitcoin could potentially become more volatile than it already is.

The Scaling Debate

Furthermore, there is significant debate as to the future of Bitcoin. Heated discussions have arisen due to some of the growing pains surrounding Bitcoin, particularly the issue of how to deal with an increase in transaction volume in the Bitcoin network. As the number of blocks increases, the Bitcoin network runs the risk of becoming overloaded. One side of the debate wants to fundamentally change the Bitcoin node by increasing the block size, in order to allow the system to process transactions more quickly. The other side of the debate sees this as a betrayal of the original concept behind Bitcoin, arguing that this would lead to increased centralization. Identifying Bitcoin’s true creator would create more certainty and could potentially lay down the following steps in Bitcoin’s ever growing development.

Conclusion

Ultimately, identifying Bitcoin’s creator may be a quixotic endeavor. His or her complete silence since the Spring of 2011 means it is likely we will never hear from them again. Nevertheless, Bitcoin, the open source digital currency created nearly a decade ago, will continue to in spite of this mystery. The Bitcoin community will be forced to coexist with the enigma that is Satoshi Nakamoto, for the better or for the worst.

Is it wrong if I have thought that Satoshi Nakamoto is a conspiracy? Satoshi creates a very useful bitcoin and has the potential to become a currency and also has the potential to disrupt the financial system of a country.

A pseudonymous software developer going by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto proposed bitcoin in 2008, as an electronic payment system based on mathematical proof. The idea was to produce a means of exchange, independent of any central authority, that could be transferred electronically in a secure, verifiable and immutable way.

The Bitcoin development community has gradually lost contact with Satoshi since mid-2010, after he gave Gavin Andresen an alert when the Bitcoin network was hacked. This key can be used to alert the entire network to stop the transaction. So far, the exact identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is unknown.

The satoshi is attracting the person who is accused of making a bitcoin. Because it is for the benefit of their nation to become rich and prosperous. Even abroad it also helps this crypto. Bitcoin made by satoshi is very good and very hitech that you can easily use and now the bitcoin that he has made is already discussed by many people around the world.

If that's even his name. Just read the bitcoin wiki on him and I'm amazed. Nobody knows him.

Long time passed since he last posted in here. Why? "Busy"? I don't think so. He was active when bitcoin needed support but since the slashdot...
Also, it seems has knowledge in many areas, especially economy. He doesn't act like the average human. Not taking advantage out of his creation, leaving without telling anything. Is he even a single person or a group?

How can someone create something so great and not stepping out to get the credit?

Satoshi Nakamoto is the name used by the unknown person or people who designed bitcoin and created its original reference implementation. As part of the implementation, they also devised the first blockchain database. In the process they were the first to solve the double-spending problem for digital currency.

If Craig Wright is Satoshi he appears to have suffered from a severe concussion. If you read the white paper it's clear Satoshi had a fairly simple easy to follow writing style; everything that I have read from Craig Wright is overly complicated and meandering without much reason or purpose. I would express doubts that DHS identified Satoshi with stylometry, but I'd say that it could certainly be used to eliminate a handful of people as candidates(CW being one). He didn't need to move coins from the original addresses to prove his identity, he just needed to sign a message with one of the keys. He claimed to have done this, but it was copied onto a USB drive he had and verified using a laptop he provided; the guy he showed this to(who apparently needed to fly around the world to meet in person for something that could be done in 30 seconds via email) was not allowed to take the USB or laptop after the meeting. All "proof" Wright provided that was provably verifiable was old stuff that literally anyone could have gotten; he did far more than choose not to provide proof, he attempted to pass off old signatures as current ones to deceive people. That's like saying magic is real because you were allowed to examine the rope before the magician did his trick, yeah it looks like that, but there was some sleight of hand after you examined it that made the trick possible.

The other, much much bigger problem: everything Satoshi wrote made it pretty clear that he was a true believer in the economic revolution he was starting, and everything I've seen from Craig Wright seems to indicate that he is more self interested and interested in self promotion. Nothing wrong with that, but there is something wrong when you tell obvious lies in an attempt to gain undeserved credibility for your own self interest.

As far as why he doesn't touch the coins and doesn't reveal his identity: regardless of whether or not Satoshi burned his old keys, plenty of people BELIEVE he has access to those keys, and if a bunch of people think some random guy has access to billions of dollars in pseudonymous currency they do crazy things; not to mention the risk governmental bad actors pose to him. Then you have people who consider the current overdose epidemic to by the end result of Bitcoin(those people are wrong, but that doesn't change their belief) and blame Satoshi for a loved one's death.

Very unlikely that Satoshi is working with, for, or is a state. Bitcoin has the potential to undermine a lot governmental economic power(I think Paul Krugman called it an economic weapon with a Libertarian Agenda) and that applies to ALL governments, so it's unlikely our/your enemies would do it either. Even if a government agency decided to create it with a built in flaw that wouldn't be detected but allow them to easily track its use for intelligence purposes, releasing it blew the doors wide open for non-governmental development of a cryptocurrency without the built-in flaw. The risk for that was both obvious and far too great for this to have been a state operation.

I would also suspect that Satoshi is not a group, there's nothing about the whitepaper and initial implementation that would need more than one insightful person to do. Most likely Satoshi read about Nick Szabo's Bit Gold(or a reinterpretation of it by someone who read of it) and saw the flaws and how to get around them.

I have thought for a while now that he's dead. There is no good reason for him to just disappear once things started taking off as well as they have, especially since he has so many bitcoins and I believe the wallets linked to him remain untouched. I also believe the few people who have claimed to be him do in fact know his true identity and know he's dead which made them feel they could pull it off. But I'm no expert. Just a theory I've had.

Satoshi Nakamoto created bitcoin with the feature of anonymity so I am not surprised that even its creator is anonymous. And I will do the same if I am Satoshi Nakamoto who created bitcoin. Naturally, I will keep myself a lot of bitcoins to make myself rich but I won't tell anyone about it because my safety will be compromised for sure. But even though we don't know him, we should still tank him for creating bitcoin great.
